It's been 6 years since I came to this house and I was never disappointed I would recommend this hotel if you like the family atmosphere since the owners are there 4th generation! The rooms are spacious and the view is stunning the staff is very friendly especially David who advises you on the good plans in Montreux! Thanks to the whole team.

Perfect location at the Grand Rue opposite the lake, a few minutes from the train station. We had a spacious room (#50) with a balcony and lake view, very run down and broken furniture, great matress, good shower, moldy bathroom. Windows are superb, muffle nearly all sound when closed. Kind and helpful staff. It's at the lower end of a 3* star which would all be fine, but 250 CHF a night in high season is definitely overpriced for the state the house is in.

Good Hotel for a fair Price. Direct in the Center of Montreux and on the Lake. The breakfast is really good and also the Reception is nice and Proffesional. We had a nice room with Seaview. I absolutley can recomennd it and will go again on the Next time we are in Montreux.

Great hotel in Montreux with very reasonable prices. The service is top, with a staff welcoming and attentive to the customer. The boss is just great and very good advice for the tours around.

This hotel is just great… The bosses sound more than nice… They're always wandering around to find us a room. I've been coming to this hotel for five years. Great… The prices more than correct, and the rooms like an old palace just huge… Thanks to the boss.

The location is perfect. Great views on the lake. The hotel nice and pleasant.

More than advisable! Especially if you can ask for views of the lake. It's magical to see dusk and dawn with those views. Breakfast and dinner on that balcony is a great experience.

Amazing view of the lake, convenient location and close to the train station, the room was clean and nice, breakfast was really good & delicious and most importantly the staff were very helpful and the owners were very decent & friendly, the overall experience was Splendid indeed and very affordable too! Will definitely come again!

Very nice place to stay close to train station just in front of the lake rooms are big and very clean Wi-Fi worked very fast and breakfast was nice I recommend this place for Chinese they are very kind.

Hotel splendid is a wonderful family run hotel close to the train station over looking the lake! The room was clean and comfortable and included a delicious breakfast. Will be back again!

This is a lovely place to stay. Offers complete value for the money you pay. Although the place does not have air conditioning, they do provide you a pedestal fan, which is particularly useful in the summer months. The place is a 3-5 mins walk from the station and the ferry terminal is right opposite it so it is extremely convenient.

Nice little heaven in the middle of city of Montreux. Very friendly and international staff with a amazing view of Lake Leman. Room rates charged are worth the money. I would always have my getaway here and will come again and again. Thanks.

Dental Swiss Clinics is located (on the 5th floor) in the same building. The hotel is very well located. The value for money is very good. We recommend!

Beautiful view from the hotel, and perfectly located in Montreux. Rooms are a bit old as is the furniture and could do with a bit of a refresh…

This was one of the best hotel experiences we had in Switzerland for not only the location of the hotel but the warm hospitality of the brothers who own and run it. We would stay here again. Location — perfect in Montreux. Literally facing the lake just across the street, with the bus stop right in front, and convenient to many nice parts of the town including the promenade, restaurants and train station. Hotel — a historic place indeed. Rooms — Our room faced the lake and had a small balcony. It was clean, furnished with what we needed, and comfortable. Bathrooms were modern and fully functional. No issues with it being too hot or too cold. Dining — Breakfast was included daily, and the food variety, quality and service was good. Service — This was the highlight. The hotel staff and the owners were extremely helpful and friendly. They gave us great tips on dining, sightseeing and general conversation.

As an African American who visited Switzerland my expectations of the hospitality industry was high considering its reputation for the industry. Fortunately, I was most impressed finding a hotel that I know call in my own words "Haven" The hotel is Originally called the SPLENDID hotel in Montreux. Besides surpacing my expectations with my neat and state of the art room, it was indeed a remarkable experience right from the warm and friendly attitude of the entire staff, to the very sumptuos breakfast and lunch meal, and ofcourse it was real value for my money and very affordable. My room facing the beautiful blue waters of the lake as well as the swiss hilly and mountain views. Whenever Switzerland is concerned my next booking would always be the Splendid hotel.

Close to the train station and right on the lake, The Splendid is a small privately run hotel in the centre of Montreux we were there to celebrate my girlfriend's birthday and they upgraded us for free to a room with a stunning view of the lake. The room was wonderfully, tastefully decorated. And if you want to take a walk, a lakeside jog, a boat trip, train ride or drive up into the mountains from some breathtaking views then here's your base camp.

This was the second time I have stayed in Montruex, for the Jazz Festival, and decided to get a more centrally located hotel. Well the Splendid is certainly that. You only have to cross the road and you are at the lake and all of the stalls (during the Jazz Festival). There are two underground car parks on the main road about 200yards either side of the Hotel. They charge about 15-20chfs per day. The hotel itself may not be as plush as some others but it was fine for me. The staff were very helpful and polite. The room was a good size, had a TV, twin beds (which were remote adjustable), good shower, and a balcony area with closet space. There is no AC but I left the bay wondows open all the time and it was nice and cool. My room was opposite the reception (27). On the 1st floor. You can see the room on the pohot's of the Hotel. Three of them in the middle with the white frontage. Rooms above have the metal railings on the balconies. I'd go for the sea view rooms as I suspect the rear of the hotel doesn't seem as good. The is a limited choice for breakfast but with so many options a short distance from the hotel it was fine. I will definately go there again.
