Great hosts Martin and Sonia. Only stayed a couple of nights and the views were great, but the gondola up was more expensive than we were expecting (we didn’t research it, so it’s our own fault) and only counts for 1 trip up and 1 trip down, so take snacks etc up with you otherwise it’s an expensive snack run. Some nights they don’t serve food anywhere up the mountain, Sonia was nice enough to sort us something on that night otherwise we’d have been pretty hungry!
Stunning views, charming setting and incredible food. The hoteliers are gracious and accommodating and speak very good English. Both dinner and breakfast were delicious and of high quality. The food was not only well made but thoughtfully made, and the dessert was one of the best I've ever had. I recommend this hotel unreservedly.
One small caveat however — if you are traveling during the off-season, as we were, you need to plan ahead on how you will get there. During the off season (spring and fall), the cable car from Chur only runs from 8:30 — 5 on weekends, not at all on weekdays. There are no bus routes within walking distance, and cab fare is very expensive (roughly 100 francs from central Chur). If you are coming in the off season, time your arrival/departure to take the cable car and do not expect to make frequent trips to the city. But if you just want to hike/bike/ski/relax, it's a terrific option.

We loved our stay! We went in late September 2024, in off-season still with very mild weather. Still fairly easy to get to from the lift even with our luggage, just had to walk maybe 0.3mile off the lift on paved and gravel roads to get there, or can take a taxi from town (lift is much cheaper, we only did the taxi to leave to catch an early morning train).
The couple running the hotel, and their staff, were all so kind, and their service at the restaurant on-site was very attentive. The food is so homey and delicious! We stayed in a very comfortable twin room with some sweet touches, great soft beds, and a perfect bathroom. I will absolutely be returning for the hospitality and quiet ambiance. We loved the atmosphere, cowbells, and the fog surrounding this beautiful property, and can't wait to come back.
