You immediately feel welcome in the house sword. The host Hichem Attia greeted us personally. For our business event with 70 people, the elegant cultural hall with stage, piano and bar was ideally suited. The atmosphere in the hall was very elegant and high with the large round tables. We enjoyed the very fine food with dessert buffet were well entertained by a performance on stage and finally treated ourselves to a "cognie-gli" at the antique wooden bar in the hall. The host family makes every effort to realize all wishes. I can recommend the sword for any kind of occasion.

The food was excellent and the buffet very generous. The hall has a very nice ambience, especially unbeatable with the nostalgic wing and life music. So I highly recommend a visit to the Hotel Sword.

Really beautifull and atmospheric hotel with charme, professional staff and very nice restaurant. I’ll be comming back to visit this part of CH and will absolutely stay here!

I have stayed at the Schwert twice now and have been delighted both times. It’s a truly authentic Swiss experience—off the beaten track but easy enough to get to from Zurich. The staff is extremely nice and hospitable, food is great and rooms are comfortable. But the best part to me was being in such a historic place. Don’t forget to take a look at the artwork around, showing the history of the canton of Glarus!

The hotel rooms are not necessarily very modern but very well maintained and clean. I felt very comfortable and would book the hotel again.

The food was great. A huge buffet! Staff were very friendly — The boss served us personally. You can recommend it to everyone.

I hate to put this place down because the staff is really nice and are doing their best but as a place to stay? Absolutely not. Definitely not in the summer. Dated rooms. No air conditioning and if you open the window, which you must, you are subject to the noise of Nafles' busiest street. The fact that the floor creaks and the door squeaks is not so much of a problem as the fact that the next door room does the same and the guests arrive just when you fall asleep after the traffic noise died down at midnight. And finally. Who ever heard about a hotel that's closed between 2 and 5pm during the height of vacation season?. So in two words? Never Again!
