Awesome place to stay @ Zurich.

It is by no means a 4 star hotel — I wold like to know at what bases it was given this classification. It is extremely basic and dated tired looking inside. The rooms need renovation! The staff is unhelpful and whatever I asked them for the answer was 'no' or I don't know. My room smelled really bad and finally I made them move me to another room but only after being told that no other rooms are available… once I complained multiple times and brought a receptionist upstairs to experience the smell the replacement room appeared to be available and I was moved to a slightly better room. I will never stay I this hotel again — it was a very stressful and uncomfortable experience.

I made a reservation for this hotel, and when I went I was led to a hotel quite far away from the airport.

Hotel nice only unfortunately no air conditioning but was already visible before booking. Staff very friendly, rooms clean and size sufficient. Due to construction work we had noise nuisances. Would be back there but when it is a little cooler and the work is finished.

Incredibly nice hotel, especially for the price of 125CHF/night! I don’t understand the negative reviews at all; especially giving an entire hotel a 1 star rating because there is no AC haha Anyway, we loved our stay at this hotel. The check in staff were kind & swift. We got lucky staying in one of the few rooms with access to a wrap around balcony. The room itself was so comfortable. The bed was comfy. The bathroom was fully stocked; the shower pressure was better than my home. They included a fan thank god due to no AC; we left the windows open during the day to cool down but can’t really keep them open overnight due to bugs around. I would absolutely stay here again. It is a short tram ride both to the center of Zürich and to the airport. Thanks for having us!

In summer it' s to avoid because no AC. If you open the windows, it' s a lot of noise all night long from the street. For sure it' s not a 4 stars hotel. Clean room, but very small. It' s easy to reach centre town. Speaking about small places, pay attention to the private parking of the hotel! Some places (nr 8 for example) are too small for a normal size car and nobody from the reception tells you that you are going to be fined by the local police if your car doesn't fit completly there. We took 120 CHF for entering a half a m on the sidewalk. The rest of the cars were fined too, because of the obvious lack of space… although it is a paid private parking (20CHF / day). Could ruin your day such a surprise…

Hotel was quite central in Zurich. Easy to get to by transport. It was clean and room was spacious enough. Tea/coffee facilities, clean bathroom. BUT! Very very hot. No air conditioning. We kept our curtains closed all day, we were given a fan and extra water foc. Personally I didn't mind the heat, but I have read and heard many comments from past and recent customers about the heat. Unfortunately the hotel has to notify all their customers about the noise from the tram works going on outside on the main street. Its only for a short time, so this shouldn't be a deterrent to future holiday/business customers. As the hotel is a listed building, the management and owners cannot put air condition. I'm sure small individual units can be installed without objection or red tape by local council. Switzerland was very enjoyable for both myself and my wife. But we felt robbed. The prices of anything purchased is extortionately over priced. We had a trip by coach to mount Rigi and paid over $360 AS. These are not complaints, just passing my own comments with the hope that someone (s) may take possitive action to install air conditioning and price competion. Overall amazing poeple, honest, helpful and we loved the hospitality and country.

The hotel is modern, clean and well located just few tram stations distante to the citycenter. Rooms are modern furnished but quite small. Unfortunatelly during the summer in the rooms is very hot, especiallyvin the attic, as you can’ t breathe and felt like in a sauna. The room fans are not enough and mobile air-conditioning units would be needed. Good breakfast. Nice and polite staff.

The hotel is well located, and the staff were really excellent going so far as to buy a new kettle for my room after I explained the problems with the existing one. However, the Superior room I had was lacking in power points, and the bathroom really needs renovating. The Wi-Fi was not consistantly stable on two of the five nights of my stay; however as soon as I notified staff of the problem, they re-set the system, and it recovered. Not quite up to the high standard of other Leonardo hotels I have stayed in, although bathroom renovation will fix that.

Friendly staff, but that's about it (though the staff are a big credit to the hotel). The main BIG, major major issue though was a lack of air conditioning on the room which was not obvious on the website. It meant sleeping there was very difficult and not a good experience and left us very tired during the next day. They should really make it clearer about the air conditioning (or lack thereof) on their website. Seriously, this is a big issue. Without as good night sleep, we couldn't enjoy the city properly and were very tired throughout the day, surviving on coffee! The city is expensive and only being able to enjoy it whilst very tired was not what we had in mind. We missed doing a few things we wanted to do because we had to spend extra hours in bed trying to make up our terriblly bad night sleep. We had the window open all night and the fan on full, but the street is not quiet and traffic noise is very loud! In addition there is a bell tower very close nearby that sounds it's bells every 15 mins well into the early hours of the morning. Not good while trying to cool the room down with an open window! Ultimately you go to a hotel fundamentally to sleep and a bad night sleep ruins your trip the next day. We stayed here for a night but moved to a different hotel the next day as this place could not offer us a decent night sleep. Honestly, avoid this place in the summer months as the rooms are too hot, sweaty, uncomfortable and stuffy.

Quality Hotel, offered today at a price (for Zurich) interesting. Adequate rooms. Great bed. Nice bathroom. Good breakfast Location not very close to the centre but in a very lively university area. With trams that connect to the city centre in two steps. And the beautiful funicular that reaches the station.

My wife and I had a planned private short stay in Zurich. We were upgraded to a suite and feel comfortable at all times due to the warm welcome and friendliness of the hotel staff. Breakfast also met our expectations, leaving a small trololus with the staff. The location of the hotel (supermarket, pharmacy, baker and inn) and public transport links were excellent.
In short: It was all great.

As always, a very enjoyable stay. We are particularly grateful for the understanding and help provided regarding our need to store medical supplies in properly refrigerated conditions.

Very nice staff and good location. Everything was very clean. Breakfast was rather mau.

I stayed two nights in a double comfort. The rooms are small but clean and comfortable, the staff is courteous and speaks two languages, English and German, the breakfast is ample, plentiful and varied, is the restaurant makes good products although at a price a little high.

Nice hotel, attentive staff and very helpful with questions or queries. Rooms are as expected and to a clean standard if a little small. I would recommend a larger room to the rear if possible as the Zurich churches and bells are rife on the main street and the late hours.

The place is great. Very clean. With friendly and helpful staff. We loved the area around the hotel. Great restaurants, grocery store as well as the pharmacy. Trum station just 2 minutes a way. Which takes you to the centre. The only think was a church just next to the Hotel and the bells were on, every hour or two at night…

Smooth check in. Rooms are quite small including a tiny shower with a squeeze soap on the wall. Location is quite good as its high up in the city, but make sure you grab one of the trams up. Number 10 from Hbf seems to work a treat. Door system to the room is a little weird once inside and remember to put a do not disturb on your handle otherwise you may have an unexpected visitor prior to check out.

Very friendly staff… here is also spoken Turkish. Pleasant ambiance… large distance between the tables… pleasant also for business meetings.

Realy nice and quiet place to stay. Friendly and helpful staff. You will not regret if decide to have breakfasts included. Fresh fruits and bakery and very tasty coffee. You can get fast to central railway station by tram. If decide to walk, remember that hotel is located on a hill, so you'll see a lot of stairs;) but nice view on a beautiful church as well) have enjoyed staying there a lot.

Excellent Hotel, with a first class service, the comfort double room is small but the superior double room is very comfortable, the receptionist Adriana behaved very well with us, understood our needs and sought a creative solution for anything We request. When I told him it was our anniversary we were surprised with a card of congratulations and chocolate in the room. It is also only four stations from the center, in less than 5 minutes you reach the most traveled area of Zurich. Recommended 100%

University area. Near tram stop. Center within walking distance in fifteen minutes. Small and basic noisy street side room.

Hotel is perfect for a city trip, tram close by, guest house with its own brewery and grocery shop also around the corner.

Great hotel. Just on the edge of zurich but well connected with the number 10 and 9 trams into the city and to the airport. The beds were comfortable and the staff were helpful. It is also near the art gallery which I loved visiting. I would stay in this hotel again. Right next door to a coop if you need anything.

I was able to stay in the Rigihof Zurich again. The room was very nice as well as the first night.
The staff is very nice and accommodating. The only drawback I would have was the inadequate reception of the W-LANs lying in bed, who needs it? ;-) Illich

All employees are very friendly and helpful. The rooms are clean and tidy. Some parts have seen better days, like worn-out armchairs and warped wooden floor panels. But it's not a big deal.

Rooms are OK. Bathroom has only a shampoo/bath-gel combination product. Why not separate shampoo and soap? Wifi is slow for this day and age. Restaurant staff are rude.

In general I did not like this hotel at all! Reasons: -Small rooms -Sheets are not even covering the with of the bed on a 2persons bed…? -Small bathroom -Ceiling in the bathroom is coming off -Price/value even for Swiss not good! -Street side rooms have a lot of noise from the busy road +Public transportation at the front door.

The rooms are clean and the staff is really professional and friendly, however it is very expensive for what they offer. The rooms are small (though I have seen smaller ones), the bathroom is old, the heat does not work properly so the room is cold and it is a bit far from the city center (less than minutes by tram). The tram line 10 stops almost at the door and can take you to the airport in a 30 minutes.

Overall the hotel was really nice and a good value for the money. It was clean and updated, and the staff was very friendly. However our experience was not as good as it could have been for two reasons. One was that this late August period in Zurich was unseasonably warm, so our room was hot. There is no air conditioning so a small table fan was the only way to cool the room down. We had a west-facing room that got the afternoon sun which made the room hot in the afternoon and evening. The second thing was that the local church, which is just across the street rings its bells every 15 minutes, 24 hours a day. One through four bells gives the 15-minute interval and one through 12 bells gives the hour. If you close the window to the balcony you don't hear the bells so much but then you roast in the hot room. We had to keep both the window and the door to the balcony open, so we heard the church bells all night long. I ended up laying awake every night and counting the bells until the wee hours of the morning! We asked to be moved to a different room but the hotel was apparently full and this was not possible. Recommendations: If you are visiting Zurich in the summertime and plan to stay at this hotel, I would recommend the following. When making your reservation or at check-in, ask for a room on the east side of the hotel. The church bells should not seem as loud there and the afternoon sun will not heat up your room as much.

Comfortabe hotel in an ideal location to enjoy time in Zurich. Staff went out of their way to make our stay really enjoyable. Being sited on a major tram run is excellent for getting around.

One of the best hotels this part of the world! Friendly staff, love the attention to details. Brilliant connectivity to city centre and well as the airport! Over all love the hospitality!

Leonardo Hotel was clean, comfortable, & located close to downtown using public transit. Just what we needed for our short stay in Zurich. Fridge allowed us to buy groceries at the nearby coop, so that helped make up for no breakfast. Tv had good channels that we could wind down with at night. The only thing I didn't love was how loud the street was at night, but that is unavoidable in a bigger city when you want to be centrally located. Friendly staff. Would recommend staying here.

4* hotel (in theory), with no air-conditioning (oven-hot room after 7am…), the smallest rooms I have ever seen, and a restaurant/cafe which is a "separate business" and thus do not allow you to charge anything to your room… seriously, one of the worst hotel experiences ever…

Incompetent people at the front desk wanted to swindle the beauty of €444 with us in hand the receipt already of rude payment untrustworthy place not clean breakfast impossible as they make you pay even the air you breathe.

Great rooms, very nice personnel.

Location is great, tram lines direct to all the places you need to be. Airport, downtown, main station, old town. Breakfast is 22 CHF, but there are bakeries and a Coop nearby for cheaper foods. Modern decor rooms, staff very friendly. I'd say maybe our only downside is that the mattresses are a bit thin and our room is boiling hot, even with the radiator turned right down. Quiet neighbours, but a noisy church which like to ring their bells for a long time on the odd occasion, but I guess that adds to the Swiss ambience!

Very good customer service… When we told them we are here on honeymoon they upgraded us to a much nicer room with small gift for us… Location is very good too with COOP next door and metro stop opposite it…

Courteous staff, rooms are ok, nothing special for a standard 4 star hotel. There's a star for the breakfast buffet which is delicious. BUT: It is a church almost exactly in front of the hotel. Every 15 minutes, you can hear the bells ringing and the hour there will be really loud. It goes through the entire night. Even ear plugs have unfortunately not helped here! We got stupid only that the views of the steeple is now even better even another room after the first complaint. Who like to waive his sleep will feel comfortable here.

In the shower, the water ran out, the paint flaking off on the Windows, minibar leeeer.
Curtains dirty, 2. Cushion (liala) spotty.
Slow Wi-Fi.
Location good, prices good, breakfast for 2 Ma €44 far too expensive.

The hotel is very close to the University. The rooms are lovingly and stimulating design. We had booked a room back, so it was also pleasantly quiet.
