Based on fabulous location, superb room, beautiful interior, mediocre food and poor service, I will give Skansen 3 stars. The service was particularly poor in the restaurant. Had a table booked at 9 pm, waited for our starters for 45 minutes, waited another 45 minutes for the main course. Only when we asked the waitress for our food, did she come back (within 30 seconds) with two plates of lukewarm food, that had obviously been forgotten in the kitchen. She gave us the plates and just left: no apologies, no smile, no is-there-anything-else-I-can-get-you. She just left. We complained to another waiter for not being attended to properly and were compensated with free espressos. Still! It's a pity, because it is a truly beautiful place.

Value for money with a very comfortable room, fantastic surroundings and views to Ceter Court, the sea, town and hills. And… the best breakfast table ever :-)

My girlfriend and I stayed at Hotel Skansen on a “Weekend Spa Package” from Friday 9 February 2018 to Sunday 11 February 2018. Being a couple, we expected a romantic retreat from everyday life, and Skansen satisfactorily fulfilled our needs. However, given the price of SEK 3.295 per person, we expected a little more than the usual retreat and in that regard we did not feel swayed. We were lodged in the Congress Hall, an adjacent build to the hotel that is facing the facade of the Swedish Tennis Association, hence, the view is trivial and you will have to close the curtains to have privacy. When we arrived in the room, we were offered two small bottles of Cava, which was a nice gesture and a good start of a romantic getaway. The rooms are nice but not spectacular. However, one very annoying thing was that we were given a room with two separate beds pushed together that separated during the night. This meant that one of us ended up in a hole on the floor, a bit aggravating when you want to sleep together. From the Congress Hall and to visit the spa, restaurant Sand, or the Atrium you will have to cross an outside area. All of this was somewhat of a disappointment. A room inside the hotel with a view of the sea was available for a price of SEK 300 more and had we known the characteristics of the Congress Hall rooms, we would without hesitation have chosen to do so. The spa area is fine, small of size but sufficient.

Mycket trevlig och avslappnande miljö. Trevligt inrett och material val av hög kvalitet. Rummen är helt okej, men eftersom man nog åker dit för att spaa så är det inte så viktigt för mig. En trevlig detalj var att der stod två piccolo flaskor med vin som hotellet bjöd på. Jättefint kallbadhus I direkt anslutning till hotellet. Trevligt med bastu, och sen hoppa I det tregradiga havsvattnet.

Best hotel I have ever stayed at. Rooms are brilliant. The "hall" is huge and beautiful. Restaurant with such a nice setting and very good food. The cold water house is an amazing experience. And staff are definitely the most welcoming I have ever experienced.

This hotel knows that sleep is important and without doubt had the best hotel bed I have ever slept on. The restaurant was also excellent.

It's a resort rather than just a hotel. The hotel located by the sea and it has kallbadhus (sauna over the sea) on the sea that belong to it. The room and the hotel in general is easily classified as 5 starts nothing out standing though when comes to design. The hotel is featured for tennis games as it unclouded several tennis play grounds. If you book a room here — which always include bath robes and breakfast — go and try the spa — which is included — specially the kallbadhus, one thing you should be aware that sauna close at 19:00 (which why I give the place 3 stars)

Me and my family visited the restaurant at the hotel in July. We had amazing shrimp sandwiches. I really recommend this place!

I have been three times to Hotel Skansen as a romantic getaway with my wife. And it likely won't be the last time. The hotel is very well located just next to the beach and even have a private cold-water bathing house just off the beach — and it is indeed very cold in the winter. The new part of the hotel is very impressive with a view to the roof of the building — I love to sit in the lobby in the afternoon for coffee and cakes and just look at the interior. As part of the hotel you also have direct access to an extremely popular restaurant with fantastic foods and wine.

Location is unbeatable, the room's are very nice, but the food doesn't really meet expectations if you're there for a few days for a conference. I don't eat red meat, the vegetarian options are non-existent/poor quality. The fish dishes were repetitive, cold, too salty and/or tasteless. Båstad is a ghost town in March, lots of gorgeous empty houses. Nice for quiet contemplation and runs along the coast, but it feels a bit odd walking around a town that is forgotten my most of society for nine months every year. Did someone say Sweden had a problem housing refugees? We could start here.

It is perfect stay for conference and Business meeting, trainning and teambuilding. The hotel facilities are wonderful and the well prepared staff was very helpful thank you!

Nice venue, outside area is relaxed but stylish. Enjoyable venue to go for an evening drink.

Romantic atmosphere, lovely and professional staff. Nice SPA and relax section. The beach only a short walk away.

A perfect getaway for a romantic weekend. You have the beach and the cold-water bath during the day and a fantastic restaurant and bar for the evening!

Great location and even though our room didn't have a view of the water we were able to open our doors and sun tan right in the room! Easy to walk to the harbor and a 10 minute walk to the main street for groceries or beer. It's pricey and the spa treatments book in advance so if you want one you'll need to plan it far before you go.

If you need a romantic getaway, this place is perfect.

Great sauna right out of the hotel in the sea! You can dip in the cold sea and also sit in a warm tub enjoying the snowing weather while sipping from your glass of wine. Very good skona food, high standard, served in the SAND restaurant.

Charming hotel! Great restaurant. The ocean sauna — magnificent!

A nice hotel situated beautifully by the water. Rooms are up to srandard. Not spectacular but ok. The restaurant served fantastic food and breakfast was short of nothing. Be sure to visit the bathhouse by the water for sauna or hot tub baths and a dip in the ocean.
