Ljusdals Camping in Q&A

Information is provided based on reviews and may contain inaccuracies.

Where is Ljusdals Camping located and what is nearby?

The campsite is conveniently located on the shores of Lake Växnan, offering scenic views. A long sandy beach with a shallow entry into the water, docks, and amenities is just a four-minute walk away. The center of Ljusdal is a 5-minute drive away, offering various shops, grocery stores, and restaurants. Running and walking trails of varying lengths are also located nearby.

Is noise from the road or railway audible?

Many guests note that the campsite is situated near a busy road, and noise from passing cars or motorcycles can be heard. Noise from passing trains is also mentioned. However, several visitors state that this noise did not disturb their sleep at night.

How polite is the staff and how does the reception operate?

Most guests describe the staff as exceptionally friendly, helpful, and welcoming, highlighting the owner, Marja, in particular. The reception staff is always ready to provide detailed information about local attractions. Nonetheless, one review sharply criticizes the owner, describing interactions with him as extremely unpleasant.

What is the Wi-Fi like at the campsite?

Wi-Fi is included in the price of the stay. Opinions regarding its quality are mixed: some guests find it stable enough for streaming movies even in remote areas, while others describe the signal as weak or insufficient.

What is the condition of the cabins and room amenities?

Guests speak highly of the new 4- and 6-person cabins, describing them as fresh, cozy, and fully equipped with a kitchen and bathroom. The cabins feature televisions, and large picnic tables with benches are set up outside for outdoor dining. Some guests also note the wonderful lake views from the cabin windows.

How clean are the sanitary facilities and shared restrooms?

The shared sanitary facilities, showers, and restrooms are described as very clean, fresh, and well-maintained. Guests note that housekeeping is carried out several times a day. Some service buildings feature a microwave, kettle, coffee maker, and dishwashing supplies, although the wastewater drainage area in one of the blocks can feel somewhat uninviting.

Are there entertainment and leisure facilities on site?

There is a mini-golf course on the campsite grounds, though several guests noted that both the course and the children's playground could use refurbishment. Kayak and bicycle rentals are also available. For outdoor enthusiasts, walking trails run close by.

Is the campsite suitable for stays with children and pets?

The campsite is well-suited for families with children thanks to its proximity to a child-friendly beach and an on-site playground. Pets are allowed, which many guests consider a major plus. However, one visitor felt the campsite was not sufficiently pet-friendly due to restrictions on swimming with dogs at the main beach area.

Perfect stay for the night. Beautiful location at the lake. A very nice lady at the front desk overloaded us with information about things to do in the area, super nice! The only downside was the train and busy road. Didn't keep us up at night, the "noise" was very much present.

Very nice cosy camping owned by a friendly Dutch family. Nicely situated. Extremely clean facilities (and we are demanding). View over a lake and a clean empty beach. It was our first camping with kids and we definitely enjoyed it!
