Scandic Bollnäs

The hotel provides parking with EV charging stations, including covered spaces. However, many guests are dissatisfied with the paid parking (around 100–108 SEK per day), particularly as payment is often processed through an external app rather than directly at the hotel. Some visitors note that free parking is available just 10 meters from the property grounds.

Guest opinions regarding the staff are mixed. Many describe the team as exceptionally friendly, professional, caring, and helpful with resolving reservation issues. At the same time, there are complaints of rudeness, arrogance, and poor service from certain front desk and bar personnel. Understaffing was also noted, leading to extended wait times in the restaurant.

The hotel serves a buffet breakfast that most guests describe as superb, diverse, and high quality. Breakfast is served with a beautiful river view, with many considering it one of the best across the Scandic chain. However, there are occasional remarks regarding the quality of the bacon and the fact that in some cases breakfast is charged separately rather than included in the room rate.

The restaurant offers a variety of dishes, including Toast Skagen, Caesar salad, and veggie burgers, which many guests rate very highly. At the same time, some diners criticize the "standard" menu items (burgers, fish & chips), describing them as pre-made convenience food with small portions at high prices. There was also a single reported case of food poisoning after eating the Skagen dish, though another guest called the very same Toast Skagen one of the best they had ever had.

Rooms do not come with complimentary tea and coffee making facilities. Guests note that hot drinks can be purchased from a vending machine, though the price is considered high and the coffee quality low. Several visitors suggested that the hotel provide in-room tea and coffee for added convenience.

Guests report having access to fast, reliable broadband internet that works smoothly throughout the property.

Rooms are generally described as clean, fresh, and recently renovated, with comfortable beds and good walk-in showers. Some guests praise the smart storage solutions and overall neatness. However, there are complaints about family rooms being too cramped, making it difficult to reach the bed once extra beds are unfolded, as well as isolated reports of drain odors in the bathroom.

The hotel lacks central air conditioning, which causes significant discomfort during hot summer months (temperatures in the rooms can reach +29–30°C). As a solution, management provides standard desk fans. Some guests complained that even with an open window and a fan running, the room remained too stuffy to sleep comfortably.

Housekeeping arrangements have received mixed reviews. While some guests are satisfied with the cleanliness, others noted that room cleaning and bed-making are not performed automatically. In accordance with the hotel's sustainability policy, housekeeping is provided only upon request or when a special card is left on the bed, which caused dissatisfaction among some guests who felt this approach was unfitting for a hotel.

The hotel features a fitness room, a relaxation area, and a lobby bar where snacks and light bites can be purchased.

The hotel is very dog-friendly, offering designated pet-friendly rooms equipped with food and water bowls. Dogs are permitted in a dedicated section of the restaurant and at breakfast, which pet owners appreciate greatly. Some guests also mentioned receiving a puppy welcome pack that included a fleece blanket, bowls, and treats.
