Nice stay at Hotel Thurya. Food was lovely, good customer service. Suggest to have a water dispenser at a common area.

We spent two nights at Turyaa and would like to thank the staff for their kind hospitality, and excellent service, specially the hostess Shyamali Ruwanthika for her friendly attitude towards all the guests. The food was superb too.

I went to hotel for 2 days. Rooms are very good. Clean. Staff are friendly. (but lack of coordination among them). food is ok. Testy. Bit spicy. had good x mas party arrangements. only issue about their resturant. It can pack only few peoples. Given priority to large groups only. others have to move other dine areas, where the taste and appetite will go. If it rain,, then experience is very bad. anyway overall hotel is recommended. Worth for price. Price include all taxes and service change.

This was the 3rd consecutive year we celebrated Christmas with Turya. Excellent service. Well organized Christmas events. Friendly staff and management. Delicious food. Beautiful environment. Highly recommend to spend your day and stay at Turya.

The rooms were pristine, the beds were quite comfy, and the staff was excellent. They went out of their way to make our stay as pleasant as possible. Tharuk, the restaurant supervisor, was especially helpful and friendly. Anyone visiting Hikkaduwa should stay at this hotel.

Visited this place which is located with a great sea view that has a calm and relaxing atmosphere. From the Help Desk we received a warm welcome. Staff is very professional, friendly and helpful. We received a wonderful service. The room was very spacious and contained all the amenities. We had a comfortable stay with an eye-catching view of sea side from the balcony. Food was mouthwatering and delicious. We were well content with everything. Mr. Indika Sirimanne — Executive Housekeeper at Turyaa, a friendly pleasant personality, who was always eager to help us and made us feel we were at home in every way. Thank you Mr. Sirimanne and ALL at Turyaa for making our visit memorable and for the superb service given from the arrival to the departure.

All staff is pretty good on dealing with the customers. Mr. Suranga and team from front office, restaurant team did it really well.
Food, location, rooms and other facilities been greatly controlled helped us to held our holiday perfectly.

Turyaa Kalutara is a hotel with beautiful sea side sceneries where we selected as our wedding venue. The hotel management n the staff were really friendly, hostile n flexible. Specially We should mention the banquet hall manager (Mr. Ruwan & Niroshan) never said no to everything we asked. He and his staff dedicated to full fill all our requirements. In his words “ The whole hotel is ours on that day” 😍. N couldn’t forget the delicious food of our cheerful chef👨‍🍳. All the arrangements were superb, we can’t ask for anything more. I was quarantined at Turyaa horel Kalutara for 10days. I wish to commend the staff for their tireless efforts and sacrifices they made to ensure my safety and comfort throughout my stay. They provided me a great service in all aspects. I also wish to give Mr. Ruwan and Mr. Lasantha from house keeping and Mr. Venura from front office a special shout out for readily assisting to all of my special requests and gave me an excellent service. They all took care of me like a red rose. It is much appreciated. The rooms were also really comfortable. All the Services were excellent. The Food was fantastic and amazing!

This is to appreciate the good work of Tuurya, during the process of taking care of myself and my mother when we came to your place for quarantine. The most important thing is that you all didn't take any sort of payment upon admission. So thank you for the trust you kept on us. That must be appreciated because most other intermediate care centres ask for the total payment at the time of admission. Tuurya together with Kings hospital did take care of us well thanks to who we are in good health today. It was really worth the money and thanks for providing us with delicious and nutritious food which was essential for recovery. Thank for everything. Xoxo ♥️

Stayed 07 days for my quarantine… Friendly service, tasty food & spacious rooms.

A very Hospitable anbience in every way. The smiles behind the face mask did show in abundance. The rooms, dining walkways, pool and many out there is magnificent. All Managers, and the entire Crew made us home away from home.

Without doubt one of the favorite hotel I stayed during my vacation. Helpful, friendly staff specially Mr. Indika Sirimanna who is the executive housekeeper deserves a special thanks. We were warmly welcomed. We had a great time with Turyaa Kalutara.

Ideal location for relaxing holiday. I stay 7 nights under very restricted conditions, but I didn't feel board or stress because of most of the friendly staff. Among them restaurant staff was amazing. All of them are very helpful and caring. Restaurant supervisor Taruk was special. He is very active young guy while leading the team he personally looked after every individual guest.

Friendly staff specially F&B staff. But some services and facilities are way below the standards. I faced VERY unethical experience when I did park my vehicle. Customer service/complaints handling of FO is very poor. Room facilities are very good, but only for double rooms. We booked tripple room and we received a double bed only. Had to request another bed and it took 1+ hours to get that bed. The given bed was very uncomfortable (pic attached). Can expect a better one from guest house. (in a Suit Room, same type of bed their for third person) Food overall ok, but for vegetarian, food quality was not acceptable.

Good atmosphere, nice pool and nice beach. No in room dining service, ala carte menu is only serviced in a outdoor restaurant and we had a hard time at night coz our baby was sleepy and it’s raining so we didn’t want to go out of the room and then no room service, went to main restaurant and they don’t serve ala carte.

Very nice place for any occasion, friendly staff.

Hotel rooms and atmosphere were good, food also great. Only thing was the front office/reception. They were very rude to us, we booked a triple room two weeks ago but when we checked-in, they gave us a double room. When we informed to room service they said they were informed to prepare a double room. Then we asked again from the reception and reception lady harshly said wait until the room re-making like it was our fault.
We didn't expect such a behavior from a 4-star hotel like turya.

We had a memorable family get away at Turyaa, Kalutara. While the hotels' ambiance & amenities are excellent the staff are friendly and extremely helpful. Special commend to Priyadrshini & Hirosha of the front office who went that" extramile" to make sure that we were comfortable & felt at home. Thankyou Turyaa for the wonderful expierience!. Staff are so nice specially the one incharge for the buffet restaurant of the hotel I forgot his name but seems he is the supervisor or manager on that area. Highly recommended specially for family with small kids!

My third stay at the Turyaa and each time for me it just gets better. Accommodations, food, staff, environment is just first class and wonderful. To spend quality time here is a privilege, pleasure and a supreme delight. From the GM Laura to the front of the house the staff are warm, friendly and welcoming. Awesome place for day out. Friendly staff. Food is so delicious. Ample parking space. Lovely view in beach side.

Nice hotel to be with your family. Have a good variety of foods and desserts. Locals may want to add more salt and pepper to suite local taste. Pool and kiddies pool also greate to be in.

Took a very long time to check-in and check-out. Two pools are there and the one on the south wing is big and nice. Food is good. Specially lunch buffet had a good variety which rarely happens. Steam bath and sauna can be used at no extra cost.

Very poor service attitude. Staff working mechanically without really watching and working towards creating great customer experience. The food was quite mediocre. Overall poor usage of a great facility.

Last week I went there with my friends for a day outing… It was a nice place. We enjoyed a lot… All staff were very friendly and supportive… Specially the Reception staff. Animation team gave us a big support to arrange our activities…

Unfortunately already a little in the years come. Food is great. You always find something. The best are the small cakes for dessert.

Stayed here last week. The staff at the reception were very good. Nothing to complain about the service. But the hotel really needs renovation. I don't think it's fair to offer the customers the rooms in the old wing. We were given room no. 302 and 304. They were horrible. The walk in passage, lifts, rooms, furniture and equipment are way too ancient and not pleasing at all. Its high time they close that whole old wing and renovate it fully. Surprised to see that kind of condition in an Aitken Spence hotel. Will NEVER visit again. Real waste of money.

The hotel is having beautiful view from the entrance when it comes to the lobby. Friendly staff, good food. If you are a sea lover this place is ideal for you.

Superb service. Pleasant staff and a good buffet. Nice room with all facilities. Pools are clean and nice. Beach is a bit of a concern, but enjoyable. Superb hotel.

Right next to the beach this is a great resort to unwind. The sound of the waves and golden sand on the beach is tranquil. The resort also has a spa. Mostly European guests with a few local Sri Lankan guests on weekends. Well managed and good courteous staff.

Wonderful staff. Great dinner. Very responsive staff in the restaurant. Easy access to the beach. Safe. Nice place to spend the evening in the midst of setting sun in red gold colour. Luxury rooms.

The hotel complex consists of an old and a new building. The new building is 6 storeys high and corresponds to the standard in terms of cleanliness and well-being. What is less pleasing is the quality and cleanliness of the restaurant in the old building. Table edges and chair rests are probably never wiped. Here the dirt was partly millimeters high. The cleaning staff seems to have a low education standard. Especially at peak times the tables were not cleared you could not sit down. Likewise, they cannot be followed by the refitting of the cutlery. There are definitely too few tops available. The existing supervisory staff does not seem to have a suitable qualification otherwise these shortcomings would have been put off. However, the staff is very friendly and helpful but cannot overlook the general conditions. The selection of drinks in the all-inclusive area is quite sparse. There is a mainbar available in which however, too few staff works. This often resulted in longer waiting times. The glasses were not cleaned properly clean. They were pre-washed in the sink and then placed in the dishwasher for about 10 seconds. The bar offers a variety of wine for a fee. This wine, however, is unpalatable to our conditions. The lounge area is separated by a fence from the beach. Locals were constantly standing on the fence and looked out to the bathers while basking in the sun. They sought auaufdringlichen contact to market trips and excursions.

The hotel is located on a very nice clean sandy beach, the location is very quiet.
The neighbouring railways are hardly heard at all. Up to Kalutara it is about 6km with the tuk tuk about 15 min. (Negotiate price), who wants it cheaper can also go by train CA 300 m to the station. The service we found was just class whether at check in, Room service, service in the restaurant… All staff always nice and friendly.
The service was in all areas very good nice friendly staff always smiling on the face.  
Sometimes a bit German speaking but most speak English.
I must say on the food we were most anxious. And we can just say class.
It started early and continued over the day. Many local dishes. Sometimes very spicy but really tasty!
But there were plenty of other things that even a European can eat very well. (And even if it was just the delicious dessert…)
We only found it bad when the people from China came for dinner, a volume in the restaurant that could hardly be entertained sensibly. And I didn't know that food culture? Half an hour later to eat gone problem solved.
On excursions that started early in the morning there was always a packed lunch.

Class Hotel. The food is delicious the staff very friendly also the locals outside of hotel. The only minus point that the dream holiday is going to end again.

Nice stay with a great sea view. Deluxe rooms are not much spacious, but filled with all the amenities. Staff was friendly, polite and ready to serve at any time. Have two swimming pools with baby pools. Food was very nice and tasty. A lot of entertainment facilities are available including Foosball, Badminton, Kids play area, Gym, Night Club & etc.

Turya Columtara is a classy place. We had a great stay in this hotel. Separate sleeping area and sitting area two armchairs sofa. In the room everything is (Superior de luxe) kettle two to 0.5 of the booth. Water, tea bags, coffee, sugar, bathrobes, slippers, hair dryer, electronic scales, safe, refrigerator. In the room is dry, no humidity, no bugs cockroaches, living creatures local, air conditioning works silently, there is a TV but all in English. All SOAP-a red excellent shampoo with coconut milk, caps for bathing, tooth paste, brushes, there is a magnifying mirror for make-up, a sufficient count-in hangers and cabinets to place all things even our huge suitcase zapali in a closet. The hotel is large, the floors are elevated, in the hall everything shines, one large pool, one smaller, in front of the hotel territory is green, a lot of big trees in the shade of which you can hide and lie down. On the beach is constantly a red flag that does not frighten tourists beach shallow sand big waves and warm pleasant water. Swim hard but jump on the waves is even more interesting main not to go far otherwise the ocean will duck you. Here are the impressions of the first day of stay on the island next time to write about food and entertainment.

What an experience it was for our family at this beautiful hotel. At our arrival to our departure we were served with great etiquette of the staff specially Miss Shanika and the staff were excellent. It was a relaxed spot for all of us. The entertainment provided by the hotel staff for guest were very good and our kids enjoyed their time in the pool. Definitely another visit is due for us at Turyaa☺. Excellent food and loved the crabs. Thank you Turyaa for an excellent service.

Its a great day I spent on this hotel with 90 colleagues. All treated well by the hotel staffs in similar manner. Especially front office and F & B division has done a great job from initiation to completion of our day out. The buffet was awesome with plenty of choices. Hope to visit again as soon. The room with ocean view is not to be paid, because other rooms in principle no! Beautiful grounds, nice staff, a visit to the gym Hall for free. Crabs, chipmunks and bats inhabit the territory. With people they do not interact, so fear is not worth it. The food was excellent. The only Minus is the overly restless ocean. It is absolutely impossible to swim, you can only jump on the waves. Again we were in October and this is not the season. All the staff of the hotel said that in the winter the ocean is much calmer. It's hard to believe, though.

The hotel is modern therefore only lacks the Sri Lankan ambience. The staff is friendly and helpful. The plant clean and tidy. The food is very good but the Chinese guests let you pass the appetite, the volume level in the restaurant is enormous as well as the eating culture to endure. The beach is very dirty and the beach boys are very annoying. For excursions long driving times have to be taken in purchase, but the best tours are done with Harry, which is on the left of the Seafood Restaurant from the beach, it is very good and also responds to individual wishes.

We booked a double room but got a room with two single beds instead of a queen bed. There's two swimming pools but not big enough. No big enough garden area and ground area. Can play games indoor. All three meals were from international buffet but less varieties among food. Average service. Rooms and the background were clean. Averagely good hotel according to budget.

Every aspect seems perfect other than the service. When asked for something through house keeping, they take too long. It's a minor fault that can be sorted easily. All the best. I'm definitely coming again!

Very very good hotel, you can only recommend the staff is super friendly, pool boy wasantha, bar man sykum and all the others just positive. Are the 2nd times here and can recommend it to everyone. Dreamily simply dreamlike.

Our week here was fabulous. Room overlooking the Indian Ocean so sleeping to the sound of crashing waves was brilliant. Staff very friendly and nothing was too much trouble. The food served buffet style was varied and tasty. I would certainly recommend this hotel if you're looking for a true experience of Sri Lankan hospitality.

The place is pretty attractive at the beginning. The ambience is impressive. But the food isn't as expected. The service is poor. The buffet is not upto standards and not property managed at all. The rooms are okay. They don't have a mechanism of managing water coming in to the hotel during rain.

Spent 2 nights here. Great experience. Love how big the hotel is and there's lots of greenery. All rooms have a view of the beach ❤️ The room was comfortable, the facilities were great (wish more people used the Game Room) and they have 2 lovely pools. The only disappointment I had was the food choices at the buffet — lacked variety and was repetitive. Also it would have been nice to see some managers/staff interacting with the guests and making them feel welcome (only the chef would occasionally walk around).

Lets start with the food. IT WAS AMAZING! maybe lacking in pasta courses BUT is was soo good! Ate so much I had to skip one meal :D The staff was really friendly and very helpful. My room had an Perfect view of the sea. The environment was really pleasant as well. The stay there was one of the best. I guarantee it.

Small remark: Sometimes the communication with some of the restaurant staff could have been better — they need to work on their english.

We selected this hotel because of the saying it's 5 Star. Unfortunately we are not get that kind of feeling with in the hotel. Tow days stayed with FB basis. Limited foods available at the buffet. I stayed room No 320 & there is lot of channels in the TV doesn't work. Table lamps not working & plug bases also broken. Poor maintenance & limited space in the bath rooms. We came for relaxation, not only doing maintenance/ always complaining. So when you are selecting this hotel think twice. Because as a customer we are expecting from 5 star category hotel more than what we are paying. My feeling is we waste the money for two days Full board.

We visited the hotel for a one day trip. Little hesitant of visiting cos old sands was a let down. We were wrong to are delight the new wing looks amazing. Greeted by an engertic young man who checked us in super fast. To are surprise We had been upgraded to a super deluxe room in the new wing with an enormous bed and a bathroom which had every modern convenience, bean bags was a cool addition cos my son and me literally got glued to it. The new wing is a modern building with beautiful grounds a large swimming pool and amazing views over the Indian Ocean plus if your having kids the kids pool and play area with a trampoline (nice addition) will keep them occupied when you sip a glass of cocktail watching the sunset but the best assets of this fabulous hotel are its staff. It is very rare in hotels to see the Executive staff looking after customers needs but the GM (Mr Priyan) and his staff were ever present and nothing was too much trouble for them, Not forgetting Jerome and chamika who gave us exceptional service. The food in the restaurant was good and we never got tired of the choice. The chefs were always present at meal times and would go out of there way to ensure that everyone was happy. it was great to see staff (mind you executives) pushing a lady on a wheelchair without a hesitation and attending to her every need. They made sure all customers feel comfortable which ever the condition they were in.

Lovely hotel for a quiet and relaxing holiday for adults. Not suitable for children. There is simply nothing to do. The hotel has many Europeans less than the Ukrainians, we have not seen the Russians (even when we went on trips). We took only Breakfast. Had dinner in the Yacht — delicious! Dine and not want. If you want to go somewhere, near the gate there are tuk-tuks. We met Mana and traveled with him in a Sea Shell, took his excursion to Galle. In General, many tourists can go on trips with the locals — their prices are cheaper, our is no less informative than the ones we took from the tour operator. With pleasure would go back here again.

The hotel is not bad the morning of the 9th day of our stay in the hotel on 14 December 2014. Rooms good, living in a Bungalow on the ground floor, room 603. Things are a little damp not dry but it probably is the climate and not the problem rooms. Sun loungers always enough. Breakfast good not starving. Take the rest of the meals outside the hotel. Fruit is tasty and cheap in the local market 6-8 times cheaper than in the hotel. Among the minuses-a small fridge in the room, the slowness of service throughout Sri Lanka. Pros-nature, fruits, smiling people, animals and inter-ing tours took them from a local beach battle Messi very much and the prices sushestvenno lower than the hotel but with him constantly bargain-prognetsya in Russian says not bad for Sri Lancia.
