Really amazing hostel. The greatest thing about this hostel has to be the lunches! Prepared by Sri Lankan staff — the food couldn't be anymore authentic and delicious.

This is a nice hostel. I stayed in both the dorms as well as a private room. It is social and has a common area with plenty of places to ‘chill out’ the lady that makes breakfast is sooo sweet! I really loved her. She was delightful. The staff is also friendly. The dorm rooms weren’t that comfortable — the light / outlet at my bed did not work and if someone took a shower then the bathroom flooded. The private room was better and I was able to actually sleep.

The Only Backpacker hostel in Colombo. Relaxed vibe. Friendly & helpful staff. Don't sell beer on site but you can buy elsewhere and bring in. Breakfasts included and are decent…

A 4.5 worth hostel. We reached there at wee hours of the morning and they welcomed us without any hesitation. The dorms were neat and clean and so was the kitchen and bathroom. Refrigerator was available and all other necessities were there. Luggage storage was also provided just in case you don't want to leave your stuff in your dorm. There weren't many people when we were there, so the atmosphere was a little dull. And they provide bicycles on rent. Handy if you plan to roam around the City.

The hostel is maintained neat and clean. One of the best hotels that I have stayed in Srilanka. The staff are extremely friendly and always eager to help.

Modern, clean, good food, convenient location, great service (both night time and day time managers were very hands-on in ensuring that guests have a great experience). The layout encourages social interaction with other travellers but smoking is allowed in the lounge area.

Want employees and guests to disrespect you and take/use your stuff without your permission stay here. I’ve booked bunkyard so many times and considered it the best hostel I’d been to but after my last experience I will never stay at, mention or reccomend this hostel ever again.

You want to have your things used, taken by employees and guests without your permission then stay here. I considered this one of the best hostels I have ever been to. I stayed a ton of times but after a night where my things were taken and used without my permission, by employees and guests alike I will never go back, never reccomend and never mention this place to anyone. — Alex dunlap.

One of the best places I stayed. The staff is very welcoming and really genuinely friendly here. The included breakfest is pretty good and the house is clean, with everything working as it should, except the Wi-Fi which is only available downstairs. Also, it is a bit far from the city centre, but the location is in a nice neighborhood. Would stay longer if I had a reason to stay in Colombo.

Absolutely blown away by the hospitality of the staff. Second to none. The rooms are well maintained and the bathrooms were spotless. Will definitely stay here again.

Great hostel in an awesome location. There are gorgeous townhouses all around, coffee shops, cafes' etc. Tuk tuks wait outside and are cheap to the railroad as you travel forward. The staff are so so so so friendly. The guys helped me plan out my entire trip in 10 minutes. The lovely woman who runs the joint makes a killer breakfast with a smile. The beds in the dorms are comfy as well and the bathrooms are well maintained. Stay here if you're in Colombo. For the price you cannot beat it.

Bunkyard is the most amazing hostel! Over my 4 stays during my time in Sri Lanka I was welcomed wholeheartedly, the staff are exceptional and go above and beyond. This is the best breakfast, bed and hot shower you will have in the whole country!

Pretty cool place for a night in Colombo. They also let me stash some of my clothes I didn't need for my trip through Sri Lanka there. Neato.

There were many hostels in srilanka having the backpack experience in the early years. But now, the backpack hostels which give the right backpack vibe is bunk yard hostels. We loved the atmosphere and the bunk beds area with the balcony view is the best! Overall amazing experience! Will surely come again!

Excellent place! It has everything you might need and the staff are wonderful. Great Sri Lanakan breakfast, great Wi-Fi, sockets that fit every plug, immaculately clean, and I could go on. One of the best hostels I've stayed in, and I've stayed in a lot. Fantastic choice :-)

The guy in the reception had a bit of attitude but overall a very clean and nice place to stay in.

Clean hostel, bed are comfortable. Only negative that there's no Wi-Fi at the rooms, only downstairs.

Very spacious, clean and a hearty breakfast served. It has nice lounge areas in the front. Highly recommend for solo travelers!

This is a centrally located hostel in Colombo that offers very clean facilities. The reception is open 24 hours and there is a breakfast buffet.

5 out 5 for the BunkYard Hostel, staff is very nice, helpful and competent. The hostel itself is very clean and maintains a high standard to satisfy it's customers. Prices are really reasonable and a complementary breakfast is included. I stayed here for two weeks and don't regret staying​ here even for one day. In the lobby you can meet and talk extensively with newcomers from around the globe, the staff even joins in and really puts up an effort to get to know their customers. Best hostel I have ever stayed in. Keep up the amazing work. And thanks for two great weeks!

Hostel classic. Good common areas. Showers clean and modern. Staff very nice. The concierge in the morning brought us to the right bus and thanks to him we had the train of 6 o'clock. Thank you.

Up there with the best hostels I've stayed at around the world. Extremely friendly staff and very centrally located. I loved the quirky design elements, although very new and a work in progress. Largest bunk beds in south Asia I've heard! Keep up the good work.

Homely hostel located right in the heart of the city, run by friendly staff members who will go above & beyond to make sure all your needs are taken care of. The use of upcycled pieces to create a fun & quirky atmosphere is genuis. Most importantly, the beds are super comfy and other facilities are top notch. Ideal stay for exploring all that Colombo has to offer.
