It is a wonderful place to stay couple of day to experience the beauty of Ella. Extremly feirndly hotel staff, elegant delicacies, clean and specious rooms with excellent room services made us thrilled to be back some other day to experience the luxurious hopitality.

We visited this gem of a boutique hotel located just a few minutes walk from Ella junction, on a little hill. A few minutes walk from Ella railway station and the main Ella — Bandarawela road. We a group of five adult friends on our way to Nuwaraeliya from Udawalawa, booked this hotel for one night after seeing a FB post during March 2021. From the time we entered this place we were treated to a few surprises which we never expected in a very reasonably discounted price we received. The rooms were spotlessly clean with a spacious balcony, very well designed and clean wash room, a nice in-house restaurant with a chef who knows what the guests look for during a holiday tour. The meals were very well designed with sufficient choice and the food prepared in front of us were delicious and very well presented. The service team led by Chaturanga was very prompt and attentive to every requirement we requested from them. The most interesting feature of this beautiful property was it's rooftop restaurant and an infinity pool located on roof top with 360 degree views of the majestic Ella rock, scenic Ella gap and surrounding mountains, a nice balcony view of the Ella town with the calming picture of a buddhist dagaba located on top of a mountain silhouetted in pure white lighting during night. The scenery of sun rise from the roof top with mountains covered with a veil of morning mist was breathtaking.

When we arrived they sent us to another hotel (less category) by telling us that it was the same… they apologized inviting us to drinks at dinner and little more. As we were assured our room had a water leak. The only thing that I would highlight is the staff, the waiters were very friendly. Area poorly communicated with the main road and poorly lit.

Pathetic hospitality… no food for Indians…

Beautifully located on top of a hill, Mountain Dew is a small boutique hotel which provides a panaromic view of the scenic Ella. Good food and great service is the key at this place, from the reception to the chef. Ideal for couples and small families who loves some peace and serenity.

Really enjoyed our stay at Morning Dew. The staff were very helpful and accommodating and the views were amazing. Bit of a walk up the hill but if you call the hotel they can pick you up on arrival. Delicious egg hoppers with sambol!

One of the best place to book your staying in Ella. This place is located in the heart of Ella but it's on a small hill so you need to do some effort if your going by foot but if your using a vehicle (you can hire one) to go there it's super fine. Best thing is the rooms (they are super perfect, the room, the bathroom and everything else regarding the room is great) and for cooking they have chefs with great cooking skills. Very nice clean hotel with a bar in the restaurant. Great view of the entire area. Breakfast is also available in the room. Very good food, typical dishes including breakfast. Friendly, helpful staff that cares about everything.

Really well situated a few hundred meters from the buzz in Ella. Spacious rooms and lots of hangers, and places to unpack. We ended up eating most of our meals there because the food was great and "the buzz" did not offer many good restaurants. The staff are very friendly and helpful, the place is clean and I can't wait to come back!

Same situation happened with us. Even if they confirm your booking, don't be sure that you'll get your room… we booked a room half a year in advance in this hotel. They confirmed our booking and told us that everything is ok. The day before our arrival they called us, that they don't have a room after all and they didn't give us any alternative. It was the main season and every hotel was full. It was pure luck that we found a room nearby.

This hotel is terrible incorrect hotel!
We reserved two room there 3 mounts before (e-mails, phone… more time). They confirmed it more time.
When we arrived to Sri Lanka, said us they are overbooked, can not give a room for us. We are with 1, 5 years old children. Ella and this area is full now. WE CAN NOT found any more same opportunity with the children. The staff is unfrendly, unhelpful … They said this is them fault, but can not help for us… that's all! We can go to the police or the parliament also… don't care it! That is a best personal and businesses behavior!
So you can booking here, the hotel is very good, but they are CHEAT and FAKE hotel … So maybe when you will arrive, must go to sleep on the road! TC!

360 panorama mountain view at Ella area and suburb. If you want to relax ad enjoy out of entire bussy world, this is the best place to stay.

Nice hotel with great view.

Has one of the best views from a hotel in Ella. Just slightly away from the main town and the very steep slope makes it hard for fully loaded Tuk tuks to go up. Get a tuktuk to bring your luggage up, you may need to get off and walk up. Food is good, the packet breakfasts for hikes are tasty and well packed.

We walked in to this place and surroundings looks impressive. Then booked a room next day so that we paid advance of Rs. 2, 000. Hotel Management contacted us following day around 11.15 a. M. And said they do not have a room for us. Further they said it was a mistake in updating the system. Bullshit! when we back to Hotel to collect our advance payment and realised this Hotel belongs to the Member of Parliament of Sri Lanka. There were some close friends of MP's visited to the Hotel so that they purposely cancelled our booking. This is how Hotel management treated to their guest. Be careful when you are booking this Hotel. Even though they reserve a room for you but finally you will be said no room. How people can find a place after travelling long distance to Ella. Ridiculous! Irresponsible management.

Probably one of the best locations in Ella, very close to the station and town center but feels secluded enough; fantastic view from the rooftop and from the rooms. Good and reasonably priced food as well: one of the best lamprais and curry and rice we had in Sri Lanka! Helpful management too. Just a warning: very steep road to get to the hotel.

Really nice Hotel, good breakfast, good view, a little bit up hill so you have to walk the last 100-150 meters but they offer a pick up, a little bit to pricy at all.

Shower drain is not perfect. Otherwise three thumbs up.

Perfect location to see the town and hills from your balcony, very clean, comfortable beds, fresh linen, fantastic shower, great breakfast based on your choice served to room, very friendly and helpful staff. I would stay here again.

In my opinion, this is the best hotel in Ella! Panoramic Windows in the rooms, lobby and restaurant, stunning views, good food without the distraction of rice and curry, comfortable beds in rooms, it is felt that there just smells like clean! Free tuk tuk to anywhere in town and back — a decisive bonus! I want to thank the entire hotel team for their attitude to us during these two days stay, the attention to our requests for help and especially for your excellent rooftop, overlooking the whole city! Recommend friends)

This hotel opened in july 2015 and it's a good choice when staying in Ella. Dedicated to light and view with large windows, all the 9 rooms have a balcony facing the beauty of the surrounding nature. Bed is nice and the mattress one of the best we had in SL. Bathroom is perfect to get a nice shower with a view! We particularly loved the wooden floor, so much pleasant than tiles for barefoot walking. There is an Internet box on each level so it works ok pretty much everywhere. A few gaps and little amenities missing due to the recent opening but the staff is very nice and the owner is a great guy who welcomes advices and suggestions. Doors are quite thin in SL and due to the size of the common areas, it echoes a lot so we can hear conversations, staff moving chairs and preparing for breakfast… Something to work on.

Perfect place to stay in Ella! You have to be prepared to walk all the way to the top but it definitely worth it! The hotel is beautiful, the rooms are new and the staff is very friendly! We will recommend you for sure!

Nice views and friendly staff but a few negatives. Rooms are not well soundproofed so expect a very early wakeup either the first train or when the dogs outside start fighting. The matresses on the bed are covered in plastic meaning every turn in the night makes a plastic creak and the whole sleeping experience is very uncomfortable. Also the taxi we arranged through the hotel was in really bad condition and broke down! Also up an incredibly steep hill.

New, clean, and the room name is different, landscape is different, the cliffs, the waterfall, etc. Landscape, Sunrise, scenery. Services enthusiasm. In the evening, because of fan rattle, but soon quiet.

I've travelled many times through Sri Lanka, but I never found a place comparable to the Morning Dew Hotel in Ella. This is a real bright rising star all over Sri Lanka. The rooms are huge with a stunning view on little Adams Peak, Ella Rock and the surrounding area of Ella. You can admire sunrises and sunsets from your bed, your private balcony or the roof top terrace. The whole property is very clean, the food is delicious and the staff, above all Lahiru, is very helpful. The cook Ranjit and his team is very creative and they do their work with passion. We recommend the Sri Lankan breakfast and Lump Rice. They will pick you up at the railway station and organise you trips around Ella. The Wifi is one of the fasted in all Sri Lanka! I am sure that Amile, the lovely owner, will add soon some pictures and decoration in this brand new hotel. Thank you so much, you made our stay special!
