We had the most memorable stay at Chena Huts. From the arrival to checkout all staff treated us very politely with great smile. Everyone in the hotel were very professional, friendly and extremely helpful specially Chinthaka who take care of us at the restaurant was very friendly. The food was amazing, a wonderful spread, and most veggies and fruits are very fresh garden picks. Their mojitos are superb. The dining times are fun and enjoyable. They arranged a romantic dinner under the thousand of stars and surprised us with a wonderful complement. The location of the hotel is great — right in the middle of the jungle and opening to a most beautiful virgin beach. The luxury tent we had was very spacious, with nice pool, unique architecture and well equipped with all essentials. The safari guide, Prabath is very knowledgeable and professional in his duty. We highly recommending this resort.

From the reservation until we checked out, we’ve received an exceptional service, from one of the most happiest & friendliest staff that we came across in SL! Starting from the manager Mr. Lye & front office staff, F&B staff, housekeeping staff, literally everyone you meet in this hotel is very attentive & greets with you with a pleasant smile which is truly welcoming for any guest. We absolutely love all the cuisines, hats off to chefs for their amazing work! Love the architecture & the interior of the entire hotel, from the lobby to the cabins with plunge pool, you will get the true chena hut feeling yet with luxury amenities which is a plus specially after a safari ride! Talking about safari, ohh we had the best time of our lives! Special thanks to our wonderful ranger Nuwan, for sharing his knowledge with us & for letting us to observe the famous Leopards of Yala & many more along with true beauty of the wilderness. F&B staff went above & beyond to create spectacular dinners for us, where you can feel sand in your toes, sea breeze, sound of the waves & stars above you, not forgetting amazing food & beverages… I mean can you really ask for more! We really loved the bar & lounge area, its a great place to relax & enjoy after a long day! Love the beach, although the sea is bit rough these days, you simply cannt take your eyes away from the gorgeous coastline, specially during sunset.

From the moment we stepped out of our vehicle and was transported in the buggy we truly felt heartwarming vibes as we were greeted by the most ‘friendliest’ staff we’ve ever met. Later during the evening the cocktails and snacks served at the deck was an absolute bliss! In terms of dining, we almost had a request to all our meals and were wowed again and again as they were very accommodative to all our requirements. The food preparation and taste was beyond what we’ve ever had! In summary, we couldn’t think of any suggestions to give Chena Huts as they ticked all the boxes and we were so happy to select this place for our first stop in our honeymoon! Definitely visiting again! Definitely the best hotel we’ve visited!

It's a great pleasure to be the very first guests of the reopening after nine months of the COVID-19 pandemic period. Simply everything was exceptional. ❤ From the booking to the checking out process, the service was outstanding. Thank you so much for everything. An experience at Chena Huts is surely an experience to remember. Everything from start to finish was absolutely 5 stars. The rooms are beautiful with great amenities. Staff are superb and game rangers are very knowledgeable. The food is top notch and everything is prepared from scratch. Our only problem was that we did not book longer. Thank you to the team and for your fantastic hospitality.

Wonderful location near the Yala Park. Guides provide excellent transportation and touring of the park. We saw a leopard, elephants and many other animals on our safari. The food is excellent as well as the restaurant setting. We arrived in the evening to a bonfire near the beach listening to the waves crash on the shore while dining outside on a beautiful deck magical…
the huts are really small houses with all the luxuries of home and your own private pool. There is also a beautiful pool to gather at near the spa. Would definitely stay again.

Amazing and beautiful place! The staff are nicest we’ve met! Made us feel so at home and relaxed. Rooms are clean and very earthy. The pool is exotic yet calms you in every way possible. Can’t believe we were in the middle of the jungle; so quite, so peaceful and perfect to relax, honeymoon, and get in touch with your nature side.

Our experience at Chena Huts was one that my girlfriend and I will remember for a very very long time. The staff, food, facilities and huts themselves are all impeccable. Having everything all inclusive really takes the relaxation to the next level! The rooms themselves almost deserve their own review. Every little detail had been thought of and the design is just so beautiful and authentic at the same time… we absolutely loved it. The outdoor plunge pool is seriously amazing. Also some seriously good nights sleep that's for sure! The safari drives were very exciting and we learnt so much from the personal rangers that Chena Huts have. From elephants to leopards to jackals, our ranger had a wealth of knowledge he shared with us. As we had our cameras and were wanting happy snaps all the time, he more than happily brought us to photogenic areas as much as possible and really encouraged us to take our time in the areas where the wildlife had emerged from the savanna. Chena huts is a very special place for us, and we can not wait to return again in the future. Thank you again to all the staff who made our experience so amazing!

Me and my boyfriend spent 2 nights at Chena Huts and had a truly unforgettable experience. It was by far the nicest and most luxury place we've ever stayed at and everything was so thought through, from the spectacularly designed huts to the excellent and service-minded staff. There wasn't anything that the people at Chena Huts wouldn't do for us, it really felt like we were on our honeymoon! The safari was an amazing experience and we had a really enthusiastic and well-trained ranger who taught us many things about the animals as we were driving through Tala National Park. He really made an effort to make sure that we saw as many animals as possible and asked us before which animals we were more exited to see. At the end of the safari he drove us to one of the beaches close by and served us a tray with delicious Sri-Lankan snacks, such a perfect end to a fantastic safari! The food at Chena Huts was amazing and they range the menu everyday. For breakfast they offer a range of different dishes and it was so hard deciding between all amazing options that me and my boyfriend ended up ordering several dishes each, the curd with granola was the best I've had in all of Sri Lanka! As it was time for us to check out we really wished that we have booked another night, it was so hard to leave! We will definitely come back and can't wait to be reunited with Tara and the rest of the team at Chena Huts!

Amazing place where the jungle opens out onto the beach. So quiet and secluded and in keeping with the surroundings. A special treat.

A Jewel in jungle is the truest sense to describe Chena Huts by Uga Escapes! Magnificently amazing. A must to at least once in a lifetime!

Incredible hotel, it is expensive but you do get what you pay for and much more! The huts are indulgent and luxurious but very well integrated in the surrounding nature. The private terrace of the huts are visited often by lots of birds, monkeys and sometimes bigger animals! Guests are not allowed to walk around the resort unaccompanied when it is dark and swimming in the sea is not recommended as there are strong currents and some risk of being attacked by big animals. The staff is very attentive and accomodating: even if they were fully booked, they managed to offer us a late check out to enjoy our hut until 2pm. The (all inclusive) food was really good and based on a daily menu. No buffet. The included safari trips are only in Yala block 1, which I had been told was overcrowded. During the first one we could’t see a leopard or a sloth bear (although we saw some elephants, lots of buffalos, wild boards and birds), so the ranger agreed to go on a “leopard themed” trip the day after, starting at 6.10am. We were lucky and managed to see a leopard moving from one tree to another, giving us lots of opportunities for nice photos of the whole animal. The “leopard spot” was indeed overcrowded and the jeeps were moving very slowly along a car line, to share visibility of the animal.

Great hotel inside the park so see occasional wild animals. Rooms very nice and small private pool for each room perfect size to cool off then sit beside to relax. Staff very attentive and friendly. Food great. Highly recommend.

An amazing resort with beautiful rooms and a stunning setting to access the national parks.

Chena Huts was a wonderful experience. The two game safari with the ranger gave us more insight to the wilderness and the species which otherwise wouldn't have been possible. Ranger Harithe's experience took us on a wilderness route which our land cruiser was the only one and with his trained pair of eyes we ere able to see species. Unfortunately, the number one and two parks were closed which are only fifteen minutes drive from the hotel. The park number five was more than an hour drive away. The two game drives with the ranger are included In the package, first one was at 2:30pm on the arrival day and the second was at 4:30am the next day. The two game drives were memorable, even though we were not lucky to spot the leapord. We missed the afternoon game drive which had left at 2:30pm. We were not informed by Expedia (we booked with) nor the hotel. But the hotel did arrange with the ranger. Check with the hotel the day before to be on time for the game drive. You may want check on the active parks. We were at Yala on October 17th after opening of the parks one and two but the closure was exptended to the end of October. The hut was beautiful, especially the private pool which was very inviting for a dip after the game drive. The hut is located in the Yala wilderness with a breath taking view of the sea. The dining outdoor setup with the tranquility of the wilderness and the sound of the lapping of waves was great.

This place transformed our honeymoon from excellent to outstanding. The staff, location, incredible huts, interior and food just make this place a paradise. We had the time of our lives. I would recommend honeymooners to go here to have a truly special, unforgettable experience.

Absolutely loved this place!. From the entrance till the end. You'll feel that you don't want to go back. The staff was amazing. You'll get the best of the best you ever experienced. We booked it for two days ended up staying there for another day.

The Huts are awesome. Absolutely amazing. Very friendly stuff, some remember your Name immediately after checking in. Food is good, variety of different dishes to choose. Bar area could be nicer, but this is a future project I heard.
