We came again to Hikka Tranz after 9 years. The location is beautiful, surrounded by a coral reef making the place ideal for sea bathing. Rooms were clean and spacious. The hotel staff very friendly and attentive. They even surprised me with a birthday cake before we departed as it was my birthday. The buffet doesn't have a wide spread as it used to which is understandable with price hikes and unavailability of certain food items but everything that was there was delicious and presented beautifully. Will definitely come again!

This is our 04th visit to Hikka Tranz & we always choose this hotel due to their excellent service. But this time, it was horrible. Very poor hospitality. The buffet was utter crap & the answer from the F & B assistants was that they have been instructed to focus on cost reduction & not on standards. The dinner buffet didn’t have at least a dish of chicken which is a basic which a low grade hotel will even have. We been hoteliers, will not recommend Hikka Tranz.

We had a lovely few days at this hotel. The grounds always look great and very safe. Beach outlook was themed through the property and the staff were always friendly and helpful. The food was amazing at the buffet and the crabshack restaurant was so good when we ate there. I will definitely stay here again we have stayed in all cinnamon chain hotels during our holiday and would recommend them wholeheartedly.

I think it's a nice hotel for the mass tourism and I feel most of the staff is trying the best. But when it comes to individual requests like special arrangements for a birthday dinner, the organisation was chaotic. Nobody knows nothing, no birthday wishing and at the main restaurant not even a smile. All in all not a big deal and not totally unusual on Sri Lanka (the common chaos), but as regular customers with the Cinnamon Group and as a trained Hotel manager myself, we know they can do better. And one impulse (also typical for SL) : If things happen, the guest don't want to hear and is not interested in long expainations about why things went wrong…
Anyway I can still recommend the Hotel, because on the other hand there are many upsides. The staff at the a la card restaurant "The crab", the staff at the bar and the pool bar, the spa, our room etc.

Good food experience in night buffet and also ample space behind the hotel towards sea but less parking spaces as I have to wait for sometime to find a parking place. Still I believe more room for improvements. During my stay, I was in room and wash basin always overflows. Basically the basin outlet is broken. Restaurant which had the Saturday night buffet was not cleaned enough where I see left overs around the floors on next day in my breakfast visit. But overall average experience.

It's nice place to catch up with friends. Nice swimming pool by the sea. Delicious foods. Large conference Hall. (I think hall is not colour one. There are few lighting fittings and basic declarations). This a tourist friendly hotel.

For four stars — very good. Good rooms, excellent location — even in the off-season you can swim on the local beach. Diverse and delicious cuisine, though beef is cooked poorly: forgive always rubber. Of the cons — the local restaurant and the menu of drinks is more expensive than in the nearest establishments. Good service: the air conditioning was broken, we were offered to move either to the room floor above (where more premium rooms) or repairs: the second one was chosen — the air conditioning was repaired while we were on the beach.

The staff are very courteous. Their main restaurant offers an excellent spread for the buffet but they could do a better job with the desserts though. The hotel looks a bit run down from the outside, but the interior is actually very well kept and not run down in any way. Overall, we had a very pleasant and relaxing stay. Would definitely recommend to anyone.

Last weekend went with my family. The reception staff is really courteous and very helpful. Had an excellent view of the sea to be exact we had approximately 270° sea view from our rooms. We had the pleasure of enjoying a bbq dinner. They have a great spread for their dinner and breakfast. It's a great place to spend quality time with your family.

This place isn’t bad, it’s a big hotel and I found the staff to be polite, helpful and well presented. The food at the morning buffet is good as well as the view from the balcony of the upper floors of the horizon — should get decent sunsets weather permitting. The pool is family friendly as it’s not too deep and the kids pool is good for babies. I can’t say I was wowed by my time here, but apart from the extractor in our bathroom not working and the cots having the potential to pinch a child’s hand (design flaw) it was ok. The beds are comfy and the 3 of us all slept well.

One of the best beach resorts by Cinnamon. The location of this restaurant is perfect. Close to the beach. And the views of the rooms are perfect. You could see the pool and the sea from the room. There is an outdoor balcony on each room which you could relax with the wind. All guests are welcomed in a friendly way. Service is excellent. The pool has a decent space and not that small. The staff were friendly and greets and helps you everytime. There were some issues initially with the rooms, but they were resolved immediately. Buffet is great. There were varieties of food. Nothing to complain. Keep this standard as it is. Highly recommended.

Great place with a nice beach. Spacious rooms but little older looking. Great selection of foods. Staff is friendly. Nice garden, swimming pool. Can go boat rides to see fish and coral reef.

There were passing through here for an hour and a half. The grounds, compared to the hotel where we stayed, seemed very small. But they bribed huge terraces overlooking the ocean. The waves turned out to be high, again, compared to our beach so that the water was not decided to plunge.

Fantastic experience. Loved the hotel, amazing location and facilities. The staff were warm and welcoming and we enjoyed every minute of the 6 days we spent at the resort. There is unbelievably cheap scuba diving centre on hotel site. Surfing on the adjacent beach. Snorkeling around the area was beautiful with tropical fish and coral reef. Buffet breakfast and dinner were great and very diverse. Spa a little on the expensive side but there are loads of super cheap spas just outside the hotel where you can get good standard treatments for really low prices. Would definitely return!

It's v. Close to the sea in Hikkaduwa. Good change from Colombo away from the city. Beautiful sea view from the room. International variety in food selection and tastes. Warm and welcoming staff. Affords a good dip in the sea and snorkelling diving surf for sea sports lovers. Great opportunity to watch and feed sea turtles. Amazing experience.

Not the worst hotel I’ve stayed in but there is room for improvement. The rooms were not cleaned well, there were insects all over our bathroom and coffee/tea amenities. The staff are polite and accommodating. Water from my grandparents’ shower was leaking into their bedroom and there were a few issues with our room, but once we alerted management they tried to make our stay as pleasant as possible, giving us complimentary food and seating us at tables facing the ocean.

Great place to stay! Great nature and Beach! A huge turtle swims near the shore! It is possible to take surfing lessons or to go for a walk to the nearest island to see the fish. On the beach near the hotel there is a beach fight named Kalou. Had a great time with him-an honest and decent person, everything organized as promised (elephant Walk, excursion to the island, Evening Picnic, lunch) — highly recommend.

The Hotel is very pleasant. We Arrived after a long flight at 10 am with the children. We were Asked to check in at least one room (we have two). We were offered breakfast, although the breakfast time was already over. We leave the restaurant, we were immediately escorted to the rooms.
Separately about the restaurant. The Food is varied, the choice is great. I Have three children, all tastes are completely different. But Here they found what they like. Prices for lunch. We were offered (originally half board) for lunch 3 adults, 3 children 8 thousand rupees. They Took it and didn't regretted it.
The Beach is super, though there were waves, bathed both before and after dinner (it is better when cloudy, does not burn). On The beach Swim sea turtles, the rods running around chipmunks, children in awe.
The View from the hotel windows on the Indian ocean-cool, waves splashing almost under the balcony of the room. Located along Galle-road which has many shops. In general, if with children, it is exactly here.
P. S. During Weddings at local, newlyweds necessarily come to the hotel to take pictures. Landscapes are wonderful.

This is the best hotel I've been to during the Sri Lankan stay! The staff is super attentive, the location is great right on the beach and you can surf there. Breakfast is spearheaded! Cleanliness is very important here. The gym is also perfectly fine. Absolute recommendation and top price performance!

Elegant place with good views of sea. Have a good swimming pool. Deep is around 5ft. Separated baby pool also there. Their foods are awesome. You can get boat from them and have boat ride while watching corals. Specially its very romantic in the evening. Generally a crowded hotel.

Average solid four. Rooms with normal standard filling, without frills, and frills, but everything is necessary. Corridor in the hallway narrow and tight. The room itself is spacious, fits two huge beds that can be shifted, or sleep "through the bedside table", plus a couch, armchair wicker, dressing table, TV with video player, mini-bar (paid), teahouse as a compliment from the hotel, plus a couple of bottles Water. The balcony overlooks the ocean (the noise of the street and the ocean). Air conditioning and humidity regulator, fumigator available. The hotel has an elevator, the environment is absolutely accessible to all categories of people. Children expanse, even their own corner in the restaurant for eating and playing; There are swimming pools, pull-bar and dive-equipment rental.

Very nice hotel by the standards of Sri Lanka the rooms are a bit damp and where nowhere there is stains but it is because of the local climate, the rooms are air conditioned and drained, overall very good.

Common areas of the hotel were good however the rooms seemed to have some damp. This wasn't just one room but several as there was a group of 16 of us staying there. Bar and pool were good but lack of vegetarian options in the lunch menu. Beach was nice and easy to get to.

This is the best hotel on the coast, and not only in the opinion of tourists, but also local. Kitchen-sumptuous, despite the format of "buffet", cooks prepare, and the staff serves on "5". A special place in Vpechatlegijah occupies a cozy, though not large, garden. In fact, he is the landscape miracle that says "nothing superfluous. " Bussing is traced East Asian minimalism, which is rooted in Buddhism.

Greta hotel although a bit expensive. The rooms are expansive and cozy, the architecture is contemporary, and the food is quite good. During our stay overnight, we experienced the lunch, dinner and breakfast buffets, of which the breakfast buffet was the best. The pool is quite expansive and heated at night. The beach area in front of the hotel is frequented by giant green Turtles and quite interesting as it incorporates part of the reef as well.

I went to dinner… Left 4300 for nothing. Took 2 fried ribs (2700 Rue in this price includes the entire buffet type buffet, etc. ) and a glass of juice (600 rue) + 10% + Dachshund 600 rue. I prifigel. Prices are hellish, but the choice is huge. Even if you eat in cafes for such a sum, you can just eat! 3 star hotel and all this is said. Diving without certificate 13000 Rue 1-about diving, in others diving is cheaper. Barakkuda 75, Poseidon 85.

The rooms are very old and they don't worth the price. During night the birds are so noisy and the windows isolation is so bad that depending on the room it could be difficult to sleep. In any case, the staff was nice and they opened the breakfast 1 hour earlier to adapt it to our schedule. The views of the beach are really amazing.
