Calm and relaxing place like a hidden heaven in the forest. Friendly staff as well. Finding route is bit hard and the 700m to hotel from the bus route is a difficult route.
Those who like nice sceneries and cool and relaxing environment should visit there.

There are some places and people we meet, they arent simply accidents, but moments that was meant to be. ❤️ This hidden beauty among the lush greenery inside hanthana tea estates is a place more than a hotel. Her unique architecture is what attracted us there at the first glance, but then the absolutely loving, caring and humble staff who is more like a family to us now. Every month we count days for the next visit, one would never believe we have made nine visits in an year to this same place! can anyone imagine us visiting nine times? so it explains how much we love this perfect get-away from urban hassel. There can't be a better place to sip a hot coffee, play some music, wander around, and soothe our minds. Thanks so much Suranga, Prabath, Sisira, Lalith uncle, Heshan, Lahiru (forgive us if we have missed out anyname) and needless say, we have again started to count the days for our 10th visit. Oh and the food!, its world class and absolute taste because they are simply made with great love! Prasanna and Dilshara.

The place was quiet and beautiful.
The service was not satisfactory as the staff was constantly telling about catering to the foreigners and I feel they were not very keen to serve the local us. Also the food was not upto standard. To mention a few The biryani did not contain enough chicken and the onion sambal did not have curd mixed and the cashew mixed was not good too. Basically the food was served not to a standard. Was not very happy about the service.

Really awesome place to spend your holiday. It is a best place to visit and stay free. Very good service you have. We will visit you again.

One of the best places in kandy to have relaxed time with family or friends. Food was awesome. Only drawback was the road leading to the hotel. Apart from that we had a great time. Thanks.

In a godforsaken place that has nothing around it with almost no access to the Kandy city? We cancelled our booking and stayed in Ozo Kandy.

The Room: This was one of the most pleasant hotels we've stayed in. The family suite far exceeded our expectations. 5 double beds on two levels with a jacuzzi and 2 ensuite baths with a magnificent view thrown in! F&B: Tea in bed at the break of dawn, fresh manioc and durian fruit straight from the garden offered at no extra charge, tasty, generous meals… what more can you ask for? Hospitality: Varshaan and his team are the perfect staff. The management is so fortunate to have these people just pouring their heart into this establishment. The road: It's best to call and inform the front office before turning into the narrow stretch of road leading to the hotel, as meeting oncoming traffic leaves you in a bit of a spot! Travel to and from hotel when there's daylight. It's just beautiful. We are planning another visit.

The place shown in Google maps is not the exact location so always make sure you ask them the exact location when travelling there, you have to travel down a very narrow broken road to get there but as soon as you get there you will feel it was worth it. The staff is very friendly they welcome guests politely and the place is very beautifully done, and well maintained. We stayed in the bungalow they had which was quite reasonable and even the rooms were in very good condition. The staff is really helpful and kind I was actually very happy with their service. The only thing was they don't have mobile signal to this place, so no internet which is kind of a let down. And the only complaint we had was the food is way over the price and the portions are very small. I dont recommended having food from here but for a stay it is definitely good.

Nice clam place. And very reasonable to the price. Food is delicious. Westerners or people who doesn't eat spicy or hot food. Let them know win advance. Otherwise you guys are in trouble.

Beautiful place and a honeymoon destination. Nice food and big rooms. There are 6 double rooms and 2 family rooms that can serve 8 people each. Price is very reasonable and food is nice. Portion wise it's bit low but manageable unless all male travellers come. Last 500 Meters of the road is not good and you need a bit clearance of vehicles. Other than that carpet road all the way from Kandy. Only down side is the non availability of a pool.

Hi. Me and my husband spent our honeymoon at mount royal in 2015. That was a very nice experience with a great service. But v recently visited and this time it was horrible. After going to the room v ordered tea bcoz there was NO welcome drink. V had to wait for more than 1 hr and tea was only brought after requesting for the 2nd time. At dinner for bread and butter portion only 3 slices of bread were given for 2 of us. There were no napkins on tables. V were given 2 paper serviets after requested. Broken old mats were there. However pan fried chicken was good. The regulator of the room fan was broken. The bin at bathroom was not clean. Staff was friendly. PLEASE improve your service and maintenance… the portion size and the variety of FOOD needs a huge improvement.

Amazing place with very poor maintenance. Such a nice area with a lot of empty and dirty ponds. Stuff unhelpful. Hidden service charge for awful service. There are was no any water at night. At the morning only hot water was available. Manager Peter came to solve the situation but didn't make anything. He just walk in his dirty shoes around my room where I walked barefoot.

Accessibility is a challenge, there is only one motorable road and the other only by a 4x4, you need a bigger crowd with you to enjoy this place, you can take a nice walk amidst tea gardens flowers and trees, very cool place and temp falls rapidly in the evening. Food is excellent.

I stayed in the family room which accomodates 8, but you can probably fit in 20 people. That spacious. Beautiful room, Good food, friendly staff, reasonably priced and in a calm and quiet location. Only downside is the road that leads to hotel isn't that great. If you're going in a hybrid, it will suffer.

One of the best places ive ever visited, relaxation guaranteed… from rooms to food to service it is of the best quality… the view from the room is breath taking. Operating a 24-hour front desk, Mount Royal is situated within Hantana’s lush greeneries, just a 20-minute drive from the renowned Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic. Laundry service and airport shuttle can be arranged at an extra cost. The property is a 25-minute drive to the famous Royal Botanical Gardens, Peradeniya. Kandy city is about a 30-minute drive away, while Colombo city is accessible with a 3-hour drive. Fitted with attic roof and wooden flooring, comfortable rooms are furnished with a wardrobe, desk, telephone and sofa seating area. The en suite bathroom comes with shower facility. Nice hotel. Rooms are clean and in very good condition. Staff are very friendly. Only two bad things. Road to hotel is not in good condition. Last 3km are in really bad condition. Other thing was there are not many choices for in d menus. Other than that it's was good few days.
