We stayed 3 nights because all sights are in walking distance. The restaurant looks good. The rooms are okay, a little dark but the bed is comfortable. The shared bathrooms are not very nice, the shower is in the middle of the room. The breakfast was allright, toast and eggs. The staff was very friendly and helpful.

I am rarely very disappointed with accommodations, but this was really bad! We arrived by train and got no pick-up (hotel description said free shuttle from train). The bedsheets were dirty, the mosquito net was too small to cover the bed so got mosquito bites and woke up several times since I entangled myself in it, haha. The bed was not comfortable at all and the shared bathroom had cockroaches, worms and a big spider. The room had a window but it was facing towards the common room (which the room description did not mention and we had the curtains closed all the time). When we were leaving the next day for the train we asked if we could get a free shuttle to the train. He said “take the bus”. Then we said that they said “free shuttle in the hotel description”, but he answered “only pick-up! ” And tried to wave us off. We said that we didn’t get a free pick-up, and once again he just answered “no, take tuk-tuk”. We asked if he could arrange it, so we would get it right outside of the hotel. But he just said no. So bad service! As an addition, the guys working at the hotel were talking in the common room late, so hard to sleep. The hotel was cheap and good location, but that were the only good things!

Good, clean hotel in Kandy with shops and restaurants all within walking distance. Within few hundred metres from Kandy Tooth Relic Temple and Kandy Lake makes it an ideal place to pick if you plan to spend a night and visit local places.

Stay away from this place. There are bedbugs (and tons of ants). After the night there I had dozens (probably more than 100) of bedbug bites on my body. Beside that the rooms and beds are quite dirty.

Nice atmosphere with a very nice funny and welcoming owner. Saman the owner offers everything he can to make your stay as pleasant as it could be. Rooms are small but ok maintained, could be a bit more clean (bathroom or linen) but as much as you can ask for the budget. Very nice atmosphere in the lobby with little lights like stars in the middle of the heart of the city. 6min foot walk to the 'toothtemple' and the lake. Good food around on all corners or even in the hotel as well. We enjoyed lots of very nice and interesting conversations with saman and the staff (mainly man).

We stay here for three nights. No good proportion quality /price, Old not clean linen, and main thing-presence of bedbugs!

Do not use as a travel agency! After a few days our Van, booked through this hotel to the company Coconut Taxi & Tours is supposedly broke down, it had to be replaced during his "stay at the garage" by a much smaller SUV (option which the boss had told us she was less costly). What was to be a temporary car exchange became definitive, we never saw our Van again except on Instagram in photo to see that, as we suspected, it was not at all broken but served to another group of Tourist. The owner of the hotel never wanted to diminish the price of the Van-to-SUV exchange despite our complaints.

We booked for 2 nights but we left the hotel after the first: we had a mouse in the room! The staff refused to change us the room. We spent all the night trying to take the mouse out unsuccesfully. Apart from that, the room was sooo dirty. Unacceptable.

A peaceful and budget place to spend nights.

Price does not correspond the quality. It is overpriced. If you want to live in the downtown and pay relatively less, be willing to sacrifice the comfort. Slim walls, you can hear everyone in the hotel. There are no windows to outside, only to common hall. There was only cold water. Because of bad ventilation, it is very damp, especially in the bathroom. We lived in the standard on the 1st floor with own bathrooom. There are some pluses also: — location — nice staff As for me, this is still a satisfactory option for one night stay, not more.

The manager was incredibly helpful and friendly. Each day we were offered complimentary soft drinks and water. On arrival we were presented with a map of the city, shown where to go and what to see. The night staff even accompanied my friend out on our moped after closing to show us where to get some late night local food. The room was small and basic but priced accordingly. The staff offered to clean the room daily and gave new bedding/towels on request. Lovely hotel, great location, highly recommended.

Overbooked so the boss recommend us the hostel of his brother, smile at the lip… While you still can book rooms via booking!
Classic scam.

The budget rooms in this dump are the worst I have encountered in Sri Lanka. They are situated next to reception area and eating tables, so you get noise, cigarette smoke. The lights may be off at 10.30pm but the manager may be talking loudly on his mobile after midnite. I complained and they moved me upstairs. This was worse because the walkway to the shared bathroom is really noisy and the janitor sleeps behind a curtain next to the walkway and he smokes cigarettes all night. The rooms have no fresh air so the cigarette smoke comes into your room if you open the walkway window. The share bathrooms are unsafe. Maybe the A/C rooms are better quality, but you pay more of course.

Nice cozy little place with good food and decent quality service.

It's OK if you are on a very tight budget or you absolutely hate windows, or you are too cheap to pay the 100 Rs. To travel from any other hotel to Kandy's city centre. (Taking your wife? Give the McLeod a try? )

Nice place, with very helpful and kind eployees. Not really clean bads, that's only one issue I can mention against.

This hotel is located very near to most of the places of interest of the area. With regard to the staff, it must be said that we were very well attended. It is not a simple, familiar character as those which we had found so far, but that is more of the type of business. The room is far from what we might say pleasant, because the shower was not going too well, missing plugs, the aesthetic is horrible… The common area is nice and the Wi-Fi works very well. In conclusion: to visit Kandy and spend the night because it is very central is fine, but to make them stay for more than one night it is better to look for another place.

Basic for 40 dollars. Well located.
