TripAdvisor didn’t exaggerate on this one! All the glowing reviews about D’Villa are real. We spent one week “at home” in Jaffna. Dilan showed us Sri Lankan hospitality at its finest — from clean rooms and living area to arranging tuk tuks for us to go about Jaffna to recommending different restaurants and activities. Couple things: breakfast at D’Villa is five stars. My 9 year old wanted me to make sure we mention that in our review. Every morning we had a different traditional Jaffna breakfast — the vadais, idli, dosas and curries were tasty and satisfying. The fresh fruit each morning was lovely. On the day we left early so we could catch the ferry to Delft, we had breakfast boxes with delicious sandwiches, sausage and yogurt.
For other normadic mothers traveling with kids I need to say the following: the bathroom while being a wet bathroom (no glass shower partitions) was really well done and so if you like myself worry about looking at a dirty floor it does not happen here.
Laundry can be done here and it is super reasonable.
There is a desk in the bedroom and the living area has a table large enough should you need it for any schooling.
