Just made a visit to hotel yesterday. Very exciting experience. Entrance was via a ferry as this is an island. Rooms are very close to beach, can before through Windows. Small cleaned swimming pool. Food is good for the price. Vegetarian options are very limited though. Rooms are clean and tidy. Bathrooms are but old still will maintained. Friendly staff, but limited when busy. Had a free boat in the lagoon was the best experience I had. You can play pool and table tennis.

I was there with my family this weekend. You need to take all your luggage by your self. The front desk girl was not helpful. Rooms was very good I have to say that. Food is not bad. Had to ask several times to have a drinking water for my table during the all 3 meals. Also be aware for small insects. I had to take my wife back to Colombo hospital to get her widding ring removed.

Great place with its own swimable beach and swimming pool. The ayurvedic spa is excellent — fixed a big problem I had with my shoulder. Lovely raft ride to get to the hotel.

Nice place. One of the earliest eco resorts in Sri lanka. Three to four star service hence the price. The environment is great being surrounded by river and sea both. Extremely healthy food. Rooms are small but decent. (there are suites but I stayed in a deluxe room). Overall a nice moderate budget place to stay in. Pool is small though.

We visited 2 times. Very big Property. Hotel is situated in a island. You have to park your vehicle in the car park and take a boat to the hotel. Nice experience. Kayakin is also available. But you are on your own. Beach and pool is nice. Food is also good. Rooms are ok.

One of a great hotel in the area really nicely designed, it has a nice classic look and feel to it. The rooms are well maintained, clean and calm. The Beach is in a walking distance or there is a nice pool as well so you can have both to enjoy. The food also is really good thry offers Verity of dishes, the staff is friendly and supportive. The hotel got really nice views to enjoy. Overall experience is awesome.

Expensive but well maintained. Very European, no Sri Lanka feeling. We spent there the last night before going back home. Very helpful and nice staff!

Very pleasant hotel surrounded by greenery on a peninsula. A bit secluded, but nice and quiet.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. After a robbery in my bungalow at night I received no support whatsoever and no compensation from the hotel management. If I pay a lot of money for a holiday, I also expect security. Unfortunately, the Ranweli cannot offer this. The Buffett is also very one-sided and offers little variety. I will soon travel back to beautiful Sri Lanka, but definitely not to the Ranweli.

Not every resort can provide what ranveli resort provides to its customers. They welcome you in a different way. The entrance is from a ferry accross a lagoon/river. The staff is really friendly. Very famous among Europeans. Once you enter the resort you feel really relaxed. Surrounded by trees and the beautiful beach. Some rooms are seperate cottages while others are adjoining. Rooms are comfortable and well arranged. Most of the rooms has a good view of the ocean. Food is good. The bar is open. Outdoor and indoor food, buffet and snacks are offered. Swimming pool is clean and good place for sun bathing.

It's a peaceful place and an idea location for a family day-out. Staff is friendly and the service is quite good. Activities like cycling, games (carrom, billiard, table tennis), and boat rides are available. Even though the buffet has a reasonable variety, there is still room for improvement.

The hotel itself is 3 *. But you will be pleased with the pleasant music at dinner and hospitality of all employees of the hotel, without exception!

Were in the Ranweli for the second time. Pure disappointment! Completely down. Rate each of this hotel.

A very good place to relax with you friends or family. Different experience than usual since you need to cross a river to reach to the hotel. Food was good. Environment is good.

Here the quality increases annually. Quiet, clean and well maintained hotel. The sea suffers from the proximity to Negombo.

The beach is just super, the entrance to the water gently sloping, breakwaters cut off a big wave, you can safely swim. The children are very comfortable. And the hotel will not say anything-only the beach used:)

Place is awesome. It is a calm place with lot of foreigners mainly Europeans and I think it's best for people who are coming to feel environmental value around Negambo seaside. It looks all Europeans are impressed with this place and their way of service. But we as Locals has a concern of matching their service and flexibility of their style of service, as we went to spend our honeymoon there but I think they are mostly looking to serve foreigners and not looking much for locals.

I ordered cafe and couldn't drink it! Ungenissbare Milk.

Food here used to be wonderful but not anymore. The meat was stale, bland and too salty. The service was terrible too, especially at the poolside bar. Had one of the worst experiences. Would never visit again!

It's a top-notch place for you to relax and the quality of service is just excellent. If you fancy having some sun and great beach experience this is one of the best places that you should go to in Sri Lanka.

I visited this place for a day out with my friends. They had a good offer and included a nice room to spend the day as well. Which was a nice touch as most hotels don't offer rooms for day outs. This place gives me the nature vibes. Situated across the Gin Oya from the main land. You will have to park across the oya and travel in a floating boat to get to the Hotel. The room was spacious and modern. The pool was okay and clean They have pretty long beach it was a pleasant experience. The most important aspect was the buffet. The did not have lots of varieties for mains. But the selection for appetizers was amazing. I think we spend like good 2 hours in the buffet finishing all the appetizers. Highly recommended to visit. Might go there again to get an comparison.

We have experienced one of our best holidays ever. Excellent location, tasty food & very friendly staff.

The hotel and the location is nice. When you arrive to the place you have to park your vehicle in the car park outside the hotel and cross a river (ela) about 60 m to the hotel. It is at a nice environment and the staff is nice too. But the maintanance and foods are average. Overall can give three stars with the price because it is not really cheap.

The hotel is a nice place to relax and calm down from the daily stress. It's also a good Base to start trips to the rest of the island. The massages are very good, even if there are some cheaper places in Negombo to enjoy those. The food is pretty good, but there are better places to eat. The staff is very friendly and helpful, they do there best to make your stay as wonderful as possible.

Nice and quiet place, if you want nightlife probably not for you. Not many bars or restaurants nearby. Staff very accommodating and cheerful. We upgraded to a bungalow for a small cost (£30) and it's great, one of the comfiest beds we have ever slept in. The food is ok nothing special but has different themes most nights. Nice pool and surroundings.

Very nice and quiet complex. The country and people just love them. We have us felt very comfortable there. Come back.

This hotel is very good. It's room protection is very very good but their TV have only 13 channels. I like to another facilities. They are very good.

Ideal place for holidays. Reachable only by ferryboat. Excellent food! Wi-Fi only around the reception with a lot of mosquitos!

Superb location, good food. Good facilities. room boys, helpers arent in a good mood (not sure about the reason). They hardly smile. But overall: nice stay.

Very nice hotel, kind staff, delicious food, room every day perfectly tidy. Only the lunch packets were not good, was bad, weak. Katrina, Slovakia, in november.

The Hotel has a very good location because it is quiet, it is but in a few minutes with the Taxi or Tuktuk in the city. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The Service is exquisite friendly and accommodating. The selection of food has to offer any time of the day for everyone (whether local or European). The rooms have good facilities, well maintained and Hyghienisch clean. I was 16t delighted in the Hotel, and am to have for cheap money so a lovely accommodation found. I can only recommend it to any Sri Lanka holiday makers in the future.

Am thrilled from this Hotel. In spite of that it was fully booked, you have the entire beach almost to yourself. A wonderfully laid out hotel complex. Super nice staff. The food was top. In short, the most beautiful Hotel For me.
