Wonderful place have everything with a very reasonable rate, actually rate is very low. Rooms are excellent condition clean neat and bathroom has hot water. Staff is very nice to visitors they server fruits from their own land. Everything went perfect on one visit. Recommend this place.

We stayed three nights at Le Grand Meaulness and were amazed by the friendliness and attention of the staff. Especially the house manager Josef has read us every wish from the lips. The breakfast and dinner was varied, lush and super tasty. The room was big, bright, clean and super priced! was completely satisfied. Ines and Uwe from Germany.

Really enjoyed our stay here — the owners were helpful and attentive and were always pleased to go the extra mile in sorting out travel or logistics. The hotel is ideally placed for Sigiriya and Kaudulla and/or Mineriya National Park, both of which we absolutely loved and feature as real highlights from a month in Sri Lanka. Be aware that, while the owners are helpful, they do prefer to make bookings on your behalf — e. G. Booking a safari driver and Ayurvedic massage — both of which we presume meant that they could skim some profit off the top as either middle man or on commission. We didn't mind this so much though as it was hardly a fortune and made life easier. The only real downside for me was the amount of flies around the place — due to its leafy spot there was a lot of flies buzzing around at meal times. Not enough to lower my rating of the place by a definite annoyance after 3 days!

This is a terrific little place off the beaten track. It is located along Trincomalee Road and is a very handy base for visiting Dambulla, Polonnaruwa and Kaudulla National Park. The very gracious host offered expert advice and helped us avoid long queues at Kaudulla where we saw over 70 elephants. His English and French are very good too. As for the hotel itself, the rooms are clean and spacious with good air-conditioning. The food is plentiful and tasty, which is good considering the dearth of restaurants in Habarana itself. I enjoyed our 4 night stay here and look back on it fondly.

Clean rooms and value for money…

Excellent hospitality and value for money.

Owners / staff were very attentive when we arrived and carried our boot full of suitcases and bags to our room despite the fact we were only staying one night. They quickly ascertained we had nothing planned for the afternoon and organised a Jeep safari to the local nature reserve. Three and a half hours later we returned to a very enjoyable meal of Sri Lankan curry made up of approximately six dishes with rice. The room we stayed in was large, spacious and airy. It was spotlessly clean and came equipped with air con, ceiling fan and satellite TV. The en suite bathroom was also spotless and came complete with toilet, shower and basin. Give it a try. You won't be disappointed.

Inexpensive back packer friendly place ideal for Sigiriya exploration.

Convenient for Sigiriya, but plumbing needs attention and the door to the bathroom is two inches shorter than I am: duck or grouse.

Best hotel in Sri Lanka, a very nice gentleman always ready to help. The rooms are very comfortable. A true piece of paradise.
