I love Talalla Retreat and strongly recommend to come and visit! 🤩 It is spectacular and quiet place with beautiful people, surrounded by amazing nature. Absolutely unique experience to stay there 🙏🏼 I appreciate a lot customer oriented approach and individual care of any needs. Food is very tasty and wide range of dishes. Wellness and massages are perfect. I took one week yoga retreat with Tye and Rhian and one more week I was just attending morning yoga classes as part of my vacation rutine. Great place to practice yoga, beach shala right next to ocean so sound of waves as added value. I am very glad for this retreat as I met people with passion for yoga and very kind and loving behaviour. I found my happy place ☀️ PS: I had open see view room on 1st floor 👍🏼 I was able to work here, so Wi-Fi connection is pretty good as well 😊🙏🏼 I hope to come back soon! Xoxo, Domi 🤍

Super nice and thoughtful quiet place to relax. Small paradise, very clean and well maintained, friendly and helpful staff as well as super tasty and healthy food 🥰 I stayed at yoga retreat for a week which was 🙏🏻very good But you can also just rent a room. I recommend "Seaview Villa First floor" for anyone who likes the feeling of sleeping outside. Is an open space with terrace and open air shower 🥰

Love this place. Amazingly helpful staff and great location with a private beach. Food is super good and I would recommend ratatouille and rice and curry which was my favourites while I was there. Peaceful and chilled vibe. Great service guys. Love you all.

Wonderful scenery! Excellent hospitality and buffet options in the restaurant. Outdoor shower was a treat and beds comfy despite netting. Would definitely come again. And recommend to friends interested in a relaxing retreat.

I would highly recommend Talalla Retreat. Lovely people, excellent facilities, something for everyone in terms of what’s on offer. Beautiful setting right on the beach nestled amongst coconut trees. Excellent value, great food.

I had a wonderful experience at Talalla retreat. The staff are super friendly and helpful, and truly care about your experience. They even accompanied me to the hospital when I got sick, and upgraded my room for the rest of my stay! Yummy food, beautiful rooms open to the outdoors, and an amazing location on the beach. Amazing stay at tallalla retreat. Very comfortable and spacious rooms, delicious food, very helpful staff and beautiful surroundings. The surf coaching is the most professional I’ve experienced. It caters for all levels and I always make a lot of progress with the daily video analysis.

I had a wonderful time at Talalla on their surf camp. As an advanced surfer, I improved so much over the week with their exceptional coaches and daily video analysis. The yoga was absolutely perfect in the most stunning setting. The food was also delicious. I loved every second of my time their and really look forward to going back.

Thank you so much for this experience — it was like being in paradise. The Retreat that is designed with so much loving attention to detail, the sounds of nature, the beautiful beach, the incredibly nice people (making pancakes for my 3-year old daughter at 10 o'clock at night! ) — everything combined with the yoga sessions and surf lessons… for us the perfect holiday. To say it with Arnies words: "We'll be back! "

Beautiful green space with one of the most amazing beaches in Sri Lanka at your doorstep, delicious food with very generous buffet for breakfast and dinner, friendly staff and various activities on-site to make your holiday experience complete — from Ayurvedic treatments to yoga, pilates and surfing.

We've stayed for several days in the Bamboo Hut which givea a great feeling of the nature around you, since it's open to the outside in a very nice way, but one must be ready to have no AC. The space could be organised better inside the hut where we founs ourselves hanging lots of stuff on hooks. They have some rooms with AC though. We found the place and facilities very well taken care of and look lovely at the best part of the beach. Service at the restaurant was very friendly but not too accurate but with a very goos breakfast. The service at the reception was quite unfriendly and not helpful apart from one of the employees. Overall wall its a nice location but not a good value for money. (Western prices without the rest) It feels a bit like an expensive summer camp (even though we didn't participate in the surf or yoga camps which they offer) As beginner we took a surfing class which was dedicated to 4 participants but could have achieved the same level of surfing by watching a YouTube video. Renting equipment or surfing lessons are extremely expensive (by a factor of 10) and not recommended at all. Just go to the nearest beach suitable for surfing and either rent or take a guide there. Hiriketiya beach is quite suitable for beginners and SK town beach as well.

A real beautiful setting, beautiful garden, nice pool. Staff really average. A good first night with mattress stuffed at the bed bug, so change the next day. A request for a Triple room which is actually a Double room with an extra bed. In short the setting is nice, the beach nearby too. Hyper medium food to know not bad but bland because we are there in a place that offers Mindful cuisine (sic) and intense sessions of yoga, it is relax but without being in the end. Great breakfast.

Huge pool and giant garden. Health food inspired restaurant. Cool bamboo cabanas and many open air rooms with no windows or aircondition. Open air bathrooms are standard.

There are experiences that really change you and Talalla did exactly that! I have been telling everyone about the amazing food, great yoga classes and super friendly staff. It was such a magical place and I've never been so relaxed in my life. A big thank you to Lindsay for helping me discover aerial yoga. Keep up the incredible work. Thanks Susan Morales x.

Stayed at Talalla Retreat in November 16 for 8 nights for a bit of a break. There are options on their website for all inclusive packages, but we opted to just pay for accommodation (bungalow) with breakfast included, choosing to skip lunch and have dinner at one of the few restaurants located on Talalla Retreat. Pros — the staff are great, everything is really well maintained, the gardens are lovely and there are plenty of places to lie around in the gardens to enjoy a podcast or a book (how we spent most of our days). There is a swimming pool, an open air yoga pavilion (the yoga classes were excellent here), and the dining deck extends out in the garden. The buffet breakfast is delicious and each and every interaction with staff was lovely. The rooms are quite luxurious if you enjoy an open air experience. Cons — At $15USD / yoga class and $50USD / surfing lesson, the cost did add up over a week long stay (we attended yoga 2x daily and tried surfing a couple of times). In saying this though, the option was still less expensive then taking one of the all inclusive packages, and the quality of the yoga classes and surfing lessons were excellent. A couple of people have reviewed that Talalla is far away from the main surfing beaches and have complaints about the upkeep etc of the property. The isolation of Talalla is what makes it great in my opinion. We were able to walk straight onto the beach and on certain nights have Talalla beach all to ourselves.

Tropical oasis where you feel relaxed as soon a you step onto the property. Enjoyed the Pilates and Yoga and loved the open air design of the villas.

A calm & peaceful place adjoining ocean. Surprisingly saw no Asians here. Mosquitos yes, being very green.

I liked the retreat very much because of the excellent dinner buffet in the evening, the nice calm beach and the lovely garden around the appartments. I stayed in the dorm for several nights and was really happy there, the bed was really comfortable and everything was very new and in good condition. I really do recommend to stay there if you like a calm and peaceful atmosphere in which you can relax, do some yoga and enjoy the beachlife.

It's easy to understand why this resort has mixed reviews. The positive aspects are the food; the breakfast buffet has lots of variety and can keep you filled to dinner. Or you can pay 3000rs for lunch and 4500rs for dinner. If you're hungry it's definitely worth the price, if. It head somewhere local for a smaller and cheaper dish. The beach is great, with small waves and no rocks so great for swimming. It's a really pretty beach with fishermen's boats scatter across it, which come in handy if you want some shade. The pool at the resort was cool and about 25m long so great for a swim also. The surfing ($50) and the yoga ($15) is pricey. And you have to drive to other beaches to go surfing. I didn't actually bother doing yoga as it's cheaper in Amsterdam! The rooms are different. We opted for the €80 per night in big house. These rooms are on top of the "office" and next to a building site. We also had the delights of a tanoy from the temple playing music all night up until 6am. Don't think either of us slept more than an hour! One day we were taking an afternoon siesta (as we hadn't slept the previous night) when a monkey crept into our room. We hadn't left anything out but he enjoyed knocking over our shampoo bottles and kept creeping back until he got bored. So keep all your items secure and in bags! We had no A/C, just a loud fan than swept the warm, muggy air around you. Again this didn't particular help for sleeping.

Awful. From the service to the accommodation — it was dreadful. The place is run like a business trying to squeeze as much money as possible from you. Not what you would expect from the reviews — I some how think most of the reviews have been forged. We were taken to the wrong room and made to wait for our room to be made available. We had an ant infestation in the bathroom (which is outside) and inside the bedroom next to the bed! Excursions are a shambles. Asked to go on the tea plantation excursion, I was fobbed off outside to a Tuk Tuk who got lost 5 times. A journey that was supposed to take 1 hour took 2 hours! The buffet food is like sludge from a sewer — not worth the price you pay. Do not get the full board option — it is a rip off. I was booked in to stay 5 nights but left after 1 as it was not up to the standards I would have expected. If you want a nice retreat try turtle bay or the Anantara. One positive was the beach and the sea.

This is what a vacation should be. Good weather, delicious food and very nice people serving you. I really enjoyed the stay at this place. The beach is right around the corner. There is a very good buffet where you can serve yourself or be served. Ever ate pink potatoes? In the morning and in the afternoon there is a yoga class that is really good, thanks Angelique. There is Wifi around the eating place and a nice pool in the middle of the retreat. Lots of interesting people and good mood. Like.

Well again this topic as on the hikkaduve, next to the hotels right on the beach, the wastewater channel quite rubbish and so more stikaet right under your nose! Sri Lankans, idlers specyal′no you do.

Good stay and good beach. Dinner is delicious. Staff is very friendly. But this location is incorrect on Google Maps. Talalla Retreat is located on the beach. Google Maps should emend it.
