Good Food. Place to Relax. Friendly Staff. Excellent service.

The food was horrible. Dinner and breakfast was served as two batches which we had to stay until 9 to have dinner and breakfast. And all most all the desserts are finished by the time of the second batch. Some dishes were too salty and they don't have a good variety of food. Rooms are okay. The staff has no experience at all. No welcome drink was served. And they didn't even check our temperature.

Nothing wrong in the room set up or cleanliness. It was good. Food was very bad apart from that too crowded restaurant. We had a group of friends and we had to roam in the restaurant to find a place to sit. We were nt given a welcome drink. Staff is not trained. The restaurant stewards were not trained and all were panic bcoz of the crowd. I mean why do they accept such a large crowd if they cant manage. The breakfast and dinner tym was divided into two which was a real joke. We were served breakfast at 9 am, which I have never experienced in a hotel…

Useless people they wasted our money and time. We almost spent Rs110000 per night. They even chaeged for waterbotles. Disgusting. I have videos how they served.

Nice pool, close to the beach. Beach was a bit grubby, though. Good pool attendant who was on point with drinks. Rooms quite far from the pool though. Nice background music in the restaurant but after being there more than a day I think they had the same cd on repeat, although we found this amusing! Good Wi-Fi throughout. Room was clean and comfortable, but I wouldn't necessarily classify this as a luxury resort.

They have a very stupid child policy. They charge a whopping 25% for a 3 year old child per day. All other 5 star and 4 star hotels give free for children under 6. Wonder how much their 3 year old children eat or ate to be charging like this. I don't want to give any stars but have no choice as this can't be posted otherwise.

The hotel staff is cordial and helpful. The hotel is quite relaxing and the rooms are clean with decent interior deco. Somewhat of a smaller swimming pool, but overall gives a tranquil vibe. Food variety is limited and only some of the dishes taste good, whilst the others can surely use improvement.

The most deluxe accommodation with enormous, spacious room & stunning views over the pool & sea. We stayed in their best room 203. The views from balcony, bathroom & toilet were amazing. Friendly attentive staff & nice variety of meals. Enjoyed a cocktail overlooking the sea 20% off Saturdays. Highly recommend this resort.

A waste of time and money. The hotel is not being run professionally, a misguiding website. Basic amenities like slippers and gown are not provided. Bathroom does not have ventilation and the staff is clueless, many don't even under English. Also grossly overpriced. Gym is non-existent, bordering pathetic. Pool changing room facilities are not available. The food is not befitting a luxury resort. Many better options in Mirissa.

This used to be a great place but it starting to look quite dated. The food was also average and the service poor. They are doing some renovations so hopefully things will improve.

Overall its a good hotel. You have access to the beach. Food is tasty. Rooms are average. Swimming pool is not a big one. You do have limited facilities in rooms including free Wi-Fi. But, the facilities they provide in rooms are worth the money spent on since this can be categorized as a budget hotel. But the road to hotel is sometimes hard to find for someone who visits the hotel for very first time. I think they should have proper name boards indicating the road.

Some of the rooms are very far from reception and the walk is long and involves many flights of stairs. So if you have mobility problems like I do, make sure you are not in one of these. The room itself is very comfortable and the view gorgeous.

Placed in a beautiful location where Polwatta river connects with sea. Food was delicious. Staff were friendly and helpful.

Old looking Hotel. Very big property. Room are so big but not that clean. Beach is good. But hotel garden has not maintained properly. Food was ok.

Very disappointed. Can't believe this has a 4 star rating. No doubt the resort has plenty of potential with it's great view and location. But its not maintained properly. Even the air conditioning did not work properly and the unit was very old. We booked for a full board stay and surprised to find the buffet was dominated by pork which is one of the cheapest meat found in the market. So if you are not that in to Pork, better not sign up for a buffet. On a plus point, the staff were friendly enough.

Location is fine. But problem is hotel staff only welcome to foreigners they treat local (sri Lankans) very bad ways even to the driver's.

Hotel location is OK. But they have bad service to drivers because dirty please to stay and charge for food. Food was very bad.

Very close to all the whale watching tours starting point. Big comfortable rooms, however lighting in the rooms not great. Don't know what it is is with buffets in Sri Lanka but just like all the other places they can't seem to do a decent one. Friendly staff, helped pack an early morning breakfast quickly.

Food was not upto the standard. Too many flies in the dining table. But overall except the food the hotel was good.

Earlier it was categorized as a Small Luxury Hotel. But now they are in the process of upgrading it into a resort with more rooms. Lovely set up, spacious rooms. It has a beach wing and a river view wing. Airconditioned restaurant with the bar amalgamated with pool table to hang around. Nice pool on the beach front. Customer friendly staff!

A good resort in the south of Sri Lanka. Comfortable rooms. Easily the best bathroom that I have had in a hotel anywhere (see photos that I have posted). Good variety of food; a good mix of Sri Lankan and continental quisine. Friendly staff. Clothes irons and ironing boards were not standard, which was a first for me. (I was told by my travel companion that a note in the room stated they are nade available ipon request& free. ) The beach was rather a dissapointment compared with other beaches I have been to. Maybe it was due to heavy rains and inland flooding following a tropical cyclone that struck a few days prior to my stay.

Nicjt recommended. Dirty beach, far too expensive for too little power.

Two type of room available 1. River side 2. Sea side — recommend Buffet is average. No much variations No much bigger open area within premises. But beach is there and it's bigger area Staff is very friendly. TV does not support 3.0 usb. But it does work for 2.0 usb.

We were there for two days and it was an awesome holiday indeed. Calm, quiet and comfortable rooms and they are specious. Staff is very welcoming and helpful with everything. We had two babies with us and ever time we were at the buffet the staff provided baby seats and all the help to keep the babies calm while we eat. Buffet was very nice with different varieties of food and I must say they are very tasty. They served authentic Sri Lankan rice and curry for lunch which tasted heavenly. Very clean pool with the breath taking view of the Mirissa beach. I'm so looking forward to stay our next holiday at Mandara resort. Thank you so much for your hospitality…

Rooms are good but below the grade of 4 star. 1. Even there were no toothpaste & toothbrushes and had to ask them to bring them. 2. Most of the time, contact number of Room Service don't be answered & had to call the reception for everything. 3. Buffet was worst, most of wedding reception halls are better than this. There were very limited numbers of varieties in buffet, even there was no Ice Cream for the desert. Worst thing was no proper cutlery arrangement, there were only a knife & fork for the lunch and had to asked for a spoon and wait few minutes. They offer local foods such as string hoppers, Milk rice, etc but don't serve finger ball even after ask for it and says use wash room which hadn't paper towels or hand dryer. Very dissatisfied… should be rated as no star.

Such a nice and calm place to relax… the location is great with both the pool and the beach… the rooms were nice and the surroundings were clean as well. The staff was very welcoming… so was the delicious buffet! Anyway it's a place where u can enjoy and hav fun for a resonable price…

The place is so good. If u wanna quite place for relaxing, here is the best location! u can go for swimming on the sea & pool anytime easily! Room also big& clean.

Beautiful room, beautiful grounds. Wifi was intermittent, don't order the lake fish off the room service menu as it was below average. Customer service was lovely at check in, and it's very nice to see young Sri Lankans in customer service learning. However they do need to practise their conversational English as it could get difficult trying to communicate. Lovely people.

Quiet bliss in the middle of nowhere. Perfect to escape the crowds of Colombo. The chef is great — ready to accommodate any special requests, though the buffet and ala carte items are excellent by themselves. Nice spacious rooms and bathrooms. Balcony facing the sea nice for days when it's too hot or too rainy.

Do not choose this hotel. One of the worst hotel I have ever stayed. Even though it is listed as a 4 star hotel the basic/mandatory requirements are not fulfilled. It's POS Dirty towels, Slippery floor with dirt, No exhaust in bathroom, Bathing cubicle is not enclosed, so water spills all over the bathroom, No dental & shaving kits, Wash basin waste stopper lifting mechanism was out of order, Poor lighting of room, hence very difficult to read, AC modes were not working, No buffet & the poor selection of set menus, Disappointed welcome & departure I am not recommending this hotel to anyone.

I stay for one night… Worst experience in a Hotel. I paid LKR22000 (US$200) for one night… What I get is very very small room with 2 small windows. Management said beach view room. But actually it's a kitchen view (hotel's kitchen). my advice is don't book or even think to stay at this hotel…

No words to express about the services.

We stayed there for 7 days last week and at first nI thought it was going to be awful, but we had arrived in the dark. In the light of day I could see that there was a kind of shabby charm to the place and it kind of grows on you. The staff are mostly extremely friendly, there are more staff than guests. The hotel is quiet and on a lovely part of the beach which is easy to walk along. Moreover it is located just 3 km from Mirissa and is an easy Tuk Tuk ride away. It is easy to go Blue Whale watching from there and the front desk organised our trip to Yala, all easy and delivered in a friendly way. The menu is limited by western standards but the buffet is good and the chef can cook other things when asked. It is a hotel that just feels homey and fits the location perfectly. I would say for 2 or 3 nights it is a very nice place to rest, just make sure you have a room where the ac works well, otherwise it cb a little bit sticky.

After lengthy road journey from Kandy, which takes about six hours on road, through newly built Southern Expressway from Colombo to Galle, we reached Mandara Resorts. The journey from Colombo to Galle is delight as the expressway passes through low hills and plantations. Once the e-way hits Galle the journey to Mandara resorts at Mirrissa is about 30 minutes on coast road, which is relaxing and great stress buster. Mirissa as a destination, is famous for whale and dolphin watching cruise, which are done at early hour of morning and most of tourists visit for the purpose. The resort lies non descriptely about 150 metres from main road. When we reached the hotel, we were given warm welcome with flower garland, welcome drink and cold towels. The reception clerk very promptly informed us that, as we have booked for double room with an extra bed, hence, we need to upgrade so that are comfortable. To this expression, I was shocked as I had been promised by my booking agent that our rooms would be all on triple sharing, large enough to accomdate family. I insisted on checking the room. The room offered was pathetic with dirty french windows overlooking the ocean, creaking door, non functioning air conditioner, television, fan and almost every other thing, which did not worked. Seeing the state of affairs, I was shocked and requested reception clerk to connect me with his General Manager, but was denied as it was Sunday and I was told that the GM is on leave (outside the town).
