I would highly recommend The Villa by Contemporary Ceylon for anyone looking to get away for a relaxing time with friends or family. The Villa itself is a gorgeous modern structure that has all the amenities one could think of with plenty of space to relax and unwind without being disturbed. The rooms are large and comfortable and offer fantastic views of the ocean or poolside. The service is excellent and the staff are extremely attentive to your every need. One of the highlights of our stay was the food which was just amazing, the amount of thought and detail put into each dish was certainly apparent and every meal was delicious! Definetely coming back!

Spent an evening at this beautifully laid out hotel not far from the city, the hotel the garden the beach n food was fabulous, great management n staff very attentive, we had a good drink bite n dinner n drove back on the expressway with all the beauty of this country, I recommend this gorgeous place to anyone planning a wedding or just a honeymoon or just chill, what a memorable place this is. A hidded gem not far from the hustle and bustle of the suburbs of Colombo. Beatuifully designed and constructed to make you feel a sense of peace and tranquillity and most of all feel homely. The thoughtful and courteous service by the staff is unparalleled. Highly recommend The Villa by Contemporary Ceylon for a peaceful getaway and quality time with friends and family.

This is truly a special place, wonderful staff & fantastic food. Located on the beach with a family atmosphere (you feel like part of the family) the staff cannot do enough for you & a place we will definitely be coming back to. Relaxing whilst reading in the sun with the waves as our soundtrack — they have the balance right here and it is an absolute delight.

My wife and I spent the day at The Villa by Contemporary Ceylon on the beach in Wadduwa, just an hour away from Colombo. It’s one of the most beautiful and luxurious private villas in Sri Lanka. Vertually 2 acres of beautifully landscaped garden, the pools and the rooms are of excellent standard. The food was excellent as well. Food has to be good as it’s owned by the Speldewinde family who are great hosts. Wish we could have stayed longer. Ahintha and Liyanthi.

Such a beautiful villa. The interior is so tastefully done. Huge open spaces. So many different spaces to utilise and relax in. Bedrooms are large and comfortable with sea views. Bathrooms are very functional with large shower area and rainwater shower heads. Bathrooms also have an ocean view! The sprawling garden area leads to the beach. There is ample space for quiet relaxation. You never feel crowded even if it is a busy weekend in terms of bookings. The staff are very well trained and are very friendly and efficient. Food is absolutely amazing. Certainly is a hidden gem so close to Colombo.

An amazing, sprawling beachfront property that’s close to Colombo, but far enough away from the madness of the city. The rooms are all large, with modern ensuite bathrooms. Lots of neat areas to hang out be t with a crowd or with a book. The massive pool is a great place to relax after getting your fill of the ocean. Though it’s a new property the team is already on point — both the food and the service are phenomenal. I highly recommend adding it to any island itinerary.

If you’re looking for attention to detail in a villa, you’ve found it right here. I’ve travelled to many places and stayed in some luxurious villas over the years, but it doesn’t get any better than this. What an amazing place! The staff are also brilliant and give that something extra when it comes to service. Highly recommend to anyone thinking of travelling to Sri Lanka.

Stayed here for over for a week in January amazing place fantastic location 5 star facilities great food and service swim in the beach or relax at the huge pool.
Great for a big family or a romantic getaway for 2 and only 45 minutes train ride to experience the sights of Colombo.

One of the best places I have stayed at! Comfort, tranquility, service with a smile & a foodies delight! From traditional Sri Lankan cuisine to a more modern twist, eggs any way you like them, fresh fish just caught from the ocean, bread & pastries baked daily… just a few of the endless options for breakfast, lunch & dinner! I stayed here with my family of 12 & it was the perfect space for us… so much to enjoy together but plenty of options to chill on your own, if that's what you choose! And one of the best parts, relaxing in the huge infinity pool, while gazing at the sun setting over the sea!
