This hotel really caters for smokers. If you are a non smoker then you just have to inhale second hand smoke everywhere you go. The hotel policy states that guests are not allowed to smoke in the rooms or on the balconies allegedly? But this practice occurs on a regular basis. And the simple fact is little or nothing is done about it. On a number of occasions, I have come back to our allocated room to find it reeking of stale and sickly cigarette smoke. It got so bad at one point, I was forced to close the sliding doors and had no choice but to call reception. They did not appear that bothered but in an attempt to placate me, stated that they would send letters to surrounding rooms reminding occupants of the hotel policy on smoking indoors. This had no real effect. The flower beds situated on our balcony have clearly in the past, been used as an ash tray going by the number of dog ends extinguished and deposited. Due to high numbers of guests at the hotel there is limited space around the pool areas. The majority of sun beds are positioned in close proximity to each other. Therefore you are literally rubbing shoulders with complete strangers. Two days ago I managed to find a sunbed (not having secured one at the crack of dawn. Yes that goes on here all the time) My heart sank when 3 smokers rocked up and took the sun beds next to me. One was holding a large white ash tray as if it were a trophy. Who clearly did not give a flying… about anyone else.

Our 3rd visit to this wonderful hotel. Won't be our last. Food really good, lots of choice and so nicely presented. Staff could not be better, not fussing round but always there with a smile if you need help. 2 pools, one warm and one not quite so. A great gym, lots of events if you want to partake. Lovevit.

All rooms can be reached by wheelchair. Food prepared in all variations and variety. Large dining room, hence some cantienic atmosphere. Conditions and service always friendly. Varied evening programme at a good level. Very expensive in high season.

Great hotel, one of the best hotels in the Arona area! This hotel is situated at the end of the boulevard. From the hotel it is a 15 minutes walk Los Cristianos. The hotel has a very nice gym with a view on the harbor. The restaurant is very good, one of the best we had on Tenerife.

Hotel very good very modern and clean. The staff are faultless. My only complaint was any of the food not cooked straight from the grill was not very hot. Most of it could be described as cold very disappointing. I approached the restaurant manager and he said would talk to the chef. After that there was a considerable improvement. Hopefully this will continue but unfortunately we had three not very hot dinners. But beware the client age is about 50 and over. L am a pensioner and the guests were too old of a mix for me. Never seen mobility scooters flying around a hotel before.

This hotel is beautiful. The very pleasant common areas such as its café, its show room and restaurants are very nice to spend a good holiday. The rooms are of high standard and the hotel is located on the seafront at the end of Los Cristianos. You can walk by the seaside by taking the Esplanade to the city center and avoid to take the car.

Very attractive place. Lots of shops close by. Nice place to walk. Near the port. I heard the beeps of the steamers. Nostalgia for a distant industrial past.

Worthy of 4 stars. Friendly staff. Clean smart rooms all with a viiew, some balconies do not get any sun. Excellent gym. Lovely food, a good choice. A little bit out of resort but taxis are available. Had a lovely early break.

We had a fabulously relaxing holiday. The room was great with views across the pool and gardens towards the bay. Food was great and staff friendly. Definitely would go again.

One of the best hotels in this big we have visited eat ausgezeichnt always place by the pool U. A relaxing rest.

One of the best-managed hotels I know — worth every star! Tasteful rooms with a great view, beautiful pool — landscape with ample beds. Everything spotlessly clean. Really remarkable is the staff at the restaurant — absolutely professional, very efficient and yet helpful and friendly. Despite the very high score, you always get a table. The food itself — both the selection and the quality was mentioned here several times and is really great class! It certainly wasn't my last visit!

A nice hotel. Just find the price/performance ratio is not right anymore.

Love this hotel very relaxing plenty going on. Weather perfect in January. Food good, entertainment not quite as good as previous times we have been. Shame it's changing to a family hotel. Might not be as peaceful when they have kids running round.

We had a cruise on the Canary Islands for a week now and we thought about a hotel week. We have again remembered our stay at the Arona Gran Hotel.
We were there a few years ago even after a cruise one week in February at this hotel. There was the worst food we ever got in a hotel. Much from the can and we had the strong suspicion that the scrambled eggs from egg powder was touched, it did not taste us at all. We simply could not believe that the English were always inviting mountains of them to the plates early in the morning. The tour guide told us that we are a week too early in the hotel, because now mostly Englishmen are here; Only about 15 Germans. From March there will be more Germans and then there will be better food.
With the beds in our room the spring feathers were to be seen and also felt. The TUI Travel manager paid us a compensation right at the hotel and later we were sent a nice little box of wine from Tui. It was fun that even the English at six o'clock in the morning took the chairs with towels, so not just a German naughtiness. After a few days, the Poolboss was too much early in the morning and threw all the towels of the occupied chairs into the pool. Unfortunately failed to take a picture of it.
The hotel is always in our memory.

The service is quite exemplary, the hotel is clean inside, but on the outside on the walk it is a bit dirty not to mention the busy that is 2 meters from the hotel, it is quite cozy and the food is exquisite…

We have visited twice each year for about fifteen years and cannot find fault with any aspect. As is true in many circumstances, although the hotel has been beautifully updated in recent times, the real quality in this hotel lies with staff in all the various disciplines. I would name so many but would not wish to accidentally leave anyone out! We are just home from a recent visit & will be back in the spring and autumn.

Excellent hotel. Good service and spectacular facilities.

The hotel is located in the port of Los Christianos. Several times a day ferry boats depart to La Gomera. The very noisy engines disturb the rest sensitively. It is not possible to stay on the terrace during the day.

Fabulous hotel. Great location. Clean and well kept. Lovely food and good variety. Entertainment is excellent by talented professional people. Beautiful spa facilities and all staff are a credit to the hotel. Stayed the end of January and had amazing weather. All in all perfect.

I booked the hotel for five nights and paid extra for a room with sea view. I got a room with sea view if I crack my night 4 inches higher. The guy who checked me in could not be bothered providing information about the hotel. The house cleaning kept waking me up at 8 am to clean my room and they did not change the bed sheets for 4 nights. The location is over 20 minute walk from los cristianos. The food is mediocre and they make you pay for any drinks at dinner. It is really a senior residence than a 4 star hotel. Avoid this hotel if you are a bit younger and don’t want to feel like staying in an over 70 year old hotel.

Beautiful Grand Hotel bordering the coast. Well appointed hotel for the elderly and handicapped. The look of the hotel (year 60-70) has been well improved thanks to many green plants that decorate and hide the old concrete side of the hotel. Large buffet and tourist shops adjoining the hotel. The rooms have a much more modern look than the lobby. And some rooms have a terrace overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. Wi-Fi NON-free, breakfast from 08h until 10am but possibility to go ahead with less products offered. Supper from 6:30 p. M. To 9:30 p. M.

Great rooms pleasant staff wonderful food reasonably priced what is there not to like.

Very disappointed with the fact that the area was extremely run down. Beaches were black not golden as stated in the brochure, sun beds rusting on long forgotten beaches and a whole building along the so called prom full of squatters. These squatters ride their bikes so close to tourists in a frightening manner and the fact that the majority age staying at the Arona Gran was 80 years of age very dangerous. Saw the police cars calling on the squatters most days very upmarket area I think not. The hotel building and staff were lovely but you need to look at the whole picture when it comes to giving this hotel high marks.

Spent 10 days there absolutely loved it it is spacious clean staff are very friendly position is perfect, there is an area outside along the promenade that is used by 'free loaders' for the use of a better word it is a little scruffy but no problem they are quite and very polite. The food is plentiful and varied breakfast is what you would expect, omelettes, bacon, various sausages, wonderful bread, meats and cheeses, cereal, fruit, fresh juices, teas and coffees attentive waiting staff but not obtrusive all buffet style so you take what and how much you want. Dinner is the same style but the choice is unbelievable I have to admit I did get a little bored after a few days with dinner then my goodness they REALLY produced a dinner far above my expectations Prawns, Lobster, Crab, Mussels, Smoked Salmon… unfortunately they did not provide the utensils to use to access the shellfish (not that I could see). On the negative side the food was not very hot, I do appreciate that food produced on this massive scale is difficult to get it very hot but I do feel a little more could have been done. Another negative it would be nice to have coffee available in the dining room not having to go out to the bar to buy one. It you can't find something you like to eat here then I don't think you will find it anywhere. The clientele is older therefore it is quite and slow but people return year upon year and I can see why.

Not bad place. Not as good as I hoped. Nice pool and friendly staff. Nice area with English pubs over the road. Would go again.

Last year at this time my husband and I enjoyed a few days on that beautiful island and have been fortunate enough to find this wonderful hotel, in every way, lovely staff, good firm, rooms… In short, this year we repeat, for the Week we'll be out there again.

Few meters from the beach. Fantastic rooms quiet, clean, balconies of apartments orientated to allow you to see the sunrise on the ocean. No architectural barriers. Swimming pool and gym.

Adults only so nice and peaceful the plenty of food choice and nicely cooked. Most rooms have sea and pool view. Staff are all very friendly and most have a good understanding of English.

Lovely hotel, with excellent views from the balcony of our (sea view) room. Everything about this hotel is quality. The rooms are clean and bright, and always made up beautifully. The hotel staff are brilliant, very helpful and polite; nothing is too much for them. The food is good too with plenty of variety, and there is a great pool side service for snacks during the day. Free Wi-Fi is available around the hotel and free internet is also available on four computers downstairs provided for public use. There is good evening entertainment with live music, also a sports room with TV’s for the people who want to watch the football. This is easily the best hotel we have ever stayed in, I can find no fault with this place at all.

The important thing about this hotel are the people, both in reception and in the different places that you can enjoy inside the hotel, the staff is excellent, if you eat next to the pool, take a Gin and Tonic watching some of their fabulous shows or just Sitting in the hall. You'll always have an exquisitely educated person who will attend you, keep it up and thank you.

Monster on the beach. About 4000 rooms. Price exaggerated for a hotel with harbour view and not only… noise pollution and terrible smell for the ships ARMAS. No beach.

Can't understand some reviews. Hotel complex is great, rooms are modern and very clean. Food is a top class and the service staff as you would like it to be. Live music every evening with various events and mottos. Pool party, sports bar, poker tuners, gym with support, cooking classes, cocktail show ect. Something for everyone. Age groups are all represented by 20-60 years. Can the hotel absolutely recommend, there are no wishes left unfulfilled. Me and my wife are 25yrs. And had the perfect holiday. A mixture of relaxation, fun and togetherness!

Just nice hotel, great relaxation, fabulous buffet, great motto-evenings without compulsion, it takes smaller renovations but these in no way diminish the overall impression, with additional charge you can also use the upper deck … like Sensimar again.

Best place for holidays we ever been to. But you have to upgrade to the UP! otherwise it's a hotel like any other. Very good value for money, great food and good facilities. Well equipped gym and they do verity of fitness classes. The entertainment is great as well.

Fantastic hotel, very relaxed atmosphere. Food choices are plentiful and a good variety too. It's adults only at this hotel so pool is very calm and a lovely place to unwind. The only fault we can honestly say is the evening entertainment is a bit below par.

The hotel is relatively clean but already a bit old. The food is fine and the staff friendly. The situation is acceptable but the environment has come down a bit, nothing has been renewed for a long time.

It was like walking onto a cruise ship. Excellent service and kind, friendly helpful staff. Beautiful food. Excellent entertainment. Clean pools. Couldn't fault this hotel and would stay there again without question.

Classic package tourism: Good hotel with good pool scenery, good sports facilities and very good gym studio. Great Adult Hotel with, at least in early May, very many English seniors. Not its own sandy beach, but easy access to the promenade, which leads to the piled up beaches. Good view of the sea, but often also very windy. Conclusion: One week can be fully cared for, is ok, for individual holidays you probably have to go to Tenerife's north!

Despite the site from which we booked had made a mistake on the day of arrival at the hotel, they were very courteous and helpful and immediately remedied the inconvenience by offering us the room with the best view and shoring all-inclusive service on everything.

Beautiful hotel on the sea with all kinds of service, with equipped fitness centre.

Established hotel with lots of amenities. Tends to be used by slightly older generation folks but that's fine. Several pools and open air bars make this a great place to relax in the sun. Close to the Sunday market and the quieter end of things.

I could be in the Hall, very nice, recently renovated, full of seats and floors with a zen garden. Then visit the new meeting room, recently refurbished with furniture made from pallets of wood and recycled cans, very modern. Didn't me have time to visit much more, although I could see above main bar & nightclub the pool without much detail to tell which are very spacious, full of seats and pleasant to be hanging out. As for the rooms, I can not talk since not host me there, was only on the occasion of a meeting.

Good hotel, included food (full board) is buffet but very good quality. Rooms nice and modern. Good facilities.

Best hotel in Tenerife South!

We spent New Year's Eve in this location, very nice party organized by the hotel. Tasty food, great variety, average guest age is above 60. You get bottled water daily in the room, welcome red wine bottle for one week stay. Receptionist were quite cold tempered, every question though was professionally answered. All in all great hotel, clean and taken cared off. Watch out ob the island, it's full of thieves everywhere: pickpocketing, car stealing, robbery almost at every corner. And if something happens, enjoy min. 2 hours at the police station.

Fantastic alterations like the changes to dining room, less congestion. Well done Spring hotels. This is our 5th visit will certainly be back for more. Well done everyone.

Last year I went to this hotel and they have been my best vacation recommend it ;-).

We have been 11 times and have loyalty card which gives good savings. We book direct with hotel. First class accom and food. Will definately be returning many more times.

My husband and I together with two friends have just returned from the arona gran hotel after a two week stay. This is our third time and our friends the 10th time. We were in a room with a side sea view on the 6th floor and our friends paid extra for a sea view room on the 4th floor. It was wonderful the food you cant fault the bedroom a little dated but the whole hotel spotless. We didnt experience any sign of the refurbishment, the staff as usual were hardworking cheerful and very tentative. The downside was nothing to do with the hotel but the excursions, we went to the musical evening the show was good, the meal dreadful and the evening spent in a gokart building, dreadful. We also went on a ferry across to the island La Gomera and were kept on a stairway with diesel fumes permeating into our lungs until all the vehicles had been taken off. Both trips purchased from the thomson rep expensive and disapointing. We didnt use the pool area as it was always full very early with towels on beds and often un occupied for hours. We also used the bono card and went about on the local buses a lot to see more of the beautiful island, All in all a wonderful holiday.
