We went in early October, with 2 small children. The hotel decided to close all of the children’s facilities on our 2nd day. The kids pool, soft play, everything. Our 3 year old and 18 month old had 1 day of fun then 9 day of boredom.
The hotel staff dismissed the problem, despite the anger from every parent in the hotel. They did not care.
The rooms are cheap and nasty. Don’t go to this hotel.

My daughter and I are just home from a week here.
What a great place to have chosen for it.
A warm and friendly welcome by Vanessa at check in was a great start.
We stayed in a family room which was very clean and well equipped. Not the biggest room but was well laid out and provided all we needed.
Hotel was quieter as coming to the end of season so there was plenty access to loungers by the pool.
All the outside facilities and bar were clean and well sourced.
My daughter’s high point of the holiday was getting involved with the Animation team and activities. Special mentions to Guacamole, Cappuccino and Bon Bon for the fun games and chat over the week.
The shows put on by the whole animation team in the evening were fantastic and well practiced.
Good was of a good standard and reasonable choice for an All inclusive package and again was clean and organised.
Can’t comment on how the hotel would be in peak season but for us for an October get away it was perfect and just what we needed. Close transfer to the airport and a short walk to a beautiful beach all added to the experience.

Just had a fortnight holiday here. Room was upgraded to a family room, which was very much appreciated. Food was decent, pretty much as expected. Reception staff and entertainment team were great, big shout out to Guacamole, great guy. The only The only criticism I would have is that the bar staff need to cheer up a bit, engage with the customer and smile instead of just putting the drink on the bar and walking off. I'm not the only one to notice that, quite a few people mentioned it. But overall a very positive experience and would recommend this hotel.

I went with a group of 8 friends all celebrating big birthdays. This hotel was just perfect for our needs. Hotel staff and entertainment team were really friendly and fun. Always welcoming. We took part in all the daily activities, especially the aqua aerobics and the games. The location is in the quiet town of Punta Prima. Not much going on at night but that’s how we like it. Lots of walks and beach is lovely. Not too many young children as we had expected for September.
Food was fantastic, so much variety!
Overall it was a great hol, we had so much fun and will be back next year!

I visited the Occidental Menorca in May 2024. The hotel was nice enough, although there were a couple of tatty bits here and there.
**Pros**
The reception area was beautiful, helpful, and clean. The poolside bar was nice, with plenty of tables and chairs both in the sun and in the shade. The bar staff were mostly friendly. The pools were clean and had plenty of free beds to choose from. There were three deep pools and two paddling pools with small slides for the little children. The restaurant was spacious and kept clean, with seating both indoors and outdoors. They had plenty of choice of salads, fresh breads, and hot food cooked fresh in front of you. There were always chips and pasta options, which were great for any picky children. The selection of drinks was great: nice wines, cava, spirits, coffees, and proper branded soft drinks on tap. Our children loved the table tennis, basketball court, and tennis courts. The entertainment was wonderful; they spoke many languages, so everyone felt welcome. We especially loved the acrobats, the magic show, and the dance/comedy show. The kids enjoyed the kids club, which we dipped in and out of, but was available from 11-1 and again from 3-5. It featured indoor arts and crafts, soft play, and pool games. It's only a five-minute walk to the beach and a children's play park, which was nice. The village was small, with only 5 or 6 bars and 4 or 5 shops, but this was enough if you're looking for a quiet, relaxing week away as we were.

Food lovely. Entertainment staff very rude and ignorant based on our own experience.
Bar staff were great and very friendly.
Check in waiting time was horrendous and waited over one hour. Website would not allow us to check in prior to arrival. Even if we could have checked in on line we would have still had to wait as there were no separate queues.

This is a lovely spacious & clean hotel with excellent friendly efficient staff and the buffet was well run (not too many queues). Ignore any comments about them ignoring the English we did NOT find this at all. Beware the many, many birds waiting to steal any food you leave on the outside tables — so many people found their food had disappeared when they came back to their tables. My main complaint is the awful lack of soundproofing between rooms — I jumped out of my skin if someone dropped something, I was kept awake even by others' snoring! I was woken up at all hours by people talking and having drinks — all my nights' sleep were broken. This is the only reason I wouldn't return and I'm sad to say this. If you're a very heavy sleeper (or drinker ha ha) it's a great place to stay.

My husband and I visited with two other couples directly a 5 day visit.
We loved it. Rooms are modern abd clean. Bathroom is nice but the shower did tend to flood onto the floor.
Food was outstanding. Something different every day. Help yourself to soft drinks wine beer water.
The pools are just lovely. So different to the normal pools you see. There is also a water park (small children) and another quiet pool just a short walk down the hill.
Entertainment was a little hit and miss but the entertainment team really did their best to made you feel at home.
Beach is a 5 min walk down a small hill. The beach is beautiful. A few restaurants along the front.
All in all a top class hotel. Thank you.

We recently returned from our family holiday to Menorca.
Overall our stay was absolutely incredible!
The highlights were the location is great to get to the local beach. The staff are so friendly, they remember your name and make you feel very welcome. The catering staff were so helpful and even when our 19 month old dropped food they were so calm and nothing was too much. Our son loved the mini disco each night and a special visit around the pool from Barcy. The children's pool is fantastic for little ones too.
The food changed every evening and there was so much choice, we loved the food!
I used the spa which was very nice and had a massage too.
Very few negatives… we booked an upgraded room and although the bed was large and very comfortable and the bathroom nice and modern, the room felt very small!
We also didn't have our wedding changed once whilst we were there only the bed made and they didn't turn up until the mid afternoon which was disappointing.
We would have also loved to see the evening entertainment as it looked great but each night it started 9:30-10:30 which is far to late for us sadly having an under 2.
The entertainment team were brilliant and made my little boy feel special. Aside from these small issues, we loved our stay at the Occidental Hotel Menorca and will definitely be returning!

I travelled solo with my 8 year old daughter in July 2023. We went Occidental hotel in Mexico last year and loved it, so we decided to book Occidental in Menorca this year!
POSITIVES:
The food here is the best thing about this hotel, it is 5*! I’ve visited a lot of hotels in my time and this has to be up there with the best food ever. Everything was just so seasoned and tasty, hot and fresh! Fish meat vegetables wow. And good food is a priority for me when I travel! Kudos to the chef she needs a payrise. Rooms where cleaned everyday which was lovely, air con, Wi-Fi, the grounds are looked after and it is a lovely hotel all round… also the night entertainment was really really good and this hotel has everything you would need…
HOWEVER. NEGATIVES!
Sitting here by the pool on the last day, trying to decide if I would come back to this hotel or not. And the answer is no. The main reason is because all the guests are Spanish in this hotel and not English speaking people. The hotel is aimed at Spanish people. This doesn’t bother me however, I visited with my 8 year old and she had no one to play with because none of the kids spoke English. I felt a bit disheartened for her. Also had to have words with a man and his wife that was sitting a few Sun loungers down from us because he started shouting in Spanish when my daughter splashed a bit of water on him when she was paddling. Come on she’s a child and it’s a bit of water.

The staff were very friendly and helpful! cheapeu.

Everything is well thought for families avecenfants. The only problem very noisy in the restaurant. The closer to the sea. Friendly and helpful staff. And the spa at the top.

The Service is very nice and friendly. The facility is clean and lovingly designed as the rooms. The food is good, unfortunately little variety, and sometimes cold, other than the Snacks which are freshly prepared for you. What really bothers me are the are the are in the morning already reserved with towels, and then partially up in the evening, unused, lying there… in my opinion every couple of hours one time, gone through, and are re-cleared. The location of the Hotel is good, Bus and Bimmelbahn drive in front of the house, great beach, shops and not far to the Mahon.

Beautiful clean and relaxing hotel. The staff were friendly and very polite nothing to much trouble. Food was delicious plenty of choice would highly recommend this hotel.

Really friendly staff. Good food with a lovely large outside terrace for eating outside. Very nice grounds. Only a short walk down to the sandy beach.

Spent 10 days in this resort and I couldn’t recommend it enough! Fabulous staff so friendly, food and drinks were superb breakfast lunch and dinners! Swimming pools where brilliant and my daughter absolutely loved the water park resort which was a short walk down the hill! The staff went above and beyond for any of the families staying. Hotel rooms where spacious with everything you could want in them. Definitely will be back again!
