Torralbenc, a Small Luxury Hotel of the World

Never having been to Menorca before we chose this Hotel based on its given location and hotel description. On arriving at the gates we were immediately reassured by the entrance and drive leading up to the hotel, and were greeted upon arrival in the car park and luggage was taken from us. Our room was large, cool, and very well equipped and had a lovely terrace backing on to a very natural garden area. Very quiet with amazing bird song. The hotel, grounds and pool were immaculate, beautiful and extremely well managed by very helpful and friendly staff. Also lovely was walking round the vineyards. Breakfasts were excellent, and the restaurant was very good, both for lunch and dinner. Easy access to Mao and Cala en Porter was a bonus. Overall, our stay exceeded all our expectations and we would definitely return to this hotel, which we thought offered good value for money.

​Hotel Torralbenc is a beautifully executed luxury agritourism property housed in a meticulously restored 19th-century traditional Menorcan farming estate (finca). As a member of the Small Luxury Hotels of the World and a holder of a Michelin Key, it is designed for travelers seeking absolute peace, understated architectural design, and high-end privacy. It trades the typical beachfront resort flash for fields of wild rosemary, white limestone walls, and 14 hectares of its own private vineyards.
​However, this level of curated tranquility comes with premium luxury pricing and a distinctly secluded layout. The Design and Atmosphere: "Barefoot Luxury"
​The property feels less like a hotel and more like an exclusive, private Mediterranean hamlet.
​The Rooms: Spread across whitewashed, low-slung farm buildings, the rooms are a masterclass in modern, warm minimalism. Think exposed wooden beams, pale oak floors, premium linens, and private terraces scented by the surrounding gardens. If you want to splurge, the higher-tier cottages offer private plunge pools.
​The Pool Area: The long, rectangular saltwater infinity pool is stunningly quiet. Lined with comfortable loungers, it looks out across the rolling green estate towards the blue horizon of the Mediterranean Sea.
​Food and Wine.
​The culinary offering is a centerpiece of the Torralbenc experience, utilizing a farm-to-table ethos.

Celebrate our 40th anniversary of wedding.
Upon our arrival we asked what the menu was including in terms of wine.
And the waitress told us with nonchalance that we could take a bottle of wine.
We have chosen one of your Torralbenc white wines, which honestly speaking was not what we expected from a location and wine maker such as you're supposed to be. On top of that, boh waitresses had major difficulties explaining every dish course which made the experience even more difficult.
We must say that this experience was rather disappointing both in terms of food and wine. Nobody told us that we paid a surcharge to taste more than only one wine — at least the experience could have been a bit more exciting.
Anyhow, be sure that we will not recommend your location.

Our stay at Torralbenc was absolutely unforgettable. The property is idyllic and scenic, offering a serene and authentically Minorcan experience. It felt wonderfully exclusive, luxurious and romantic. The spa treatments were the most relaxing we’ve ever had, and the staff throughout the property were attentive, friendly, and helpful at every step. The sunset boat trip was our highlight: the captain expertly tailored the itinerary, creating an extraordinary, personalized experience. Meals at the property were exquisite, especially breakfast with its fresh local ingredients, and the restaurant staff ensured every request was handled smoothly. The landscaping and grounds are immaculate, making every walk on the property a dreamy joy. Torralbenc is perfect for a romantic, rejuvenating getaway with flawless service and attention to detail.

The property is breathtaking and very soothing. The room we stayed in was very minimalistic, in need of a renovation. It was very damp and dark.
The food in the restaurant is decent, but limited. Breakfast could be better. Food is way over priced for what you get. 30 euro for a pasta that barely had any sauce on it, is not right.
Come for the property, not the food or the rooms.

This is a fabulous hotel set in beautiful grounds and vineyards. Staff are so polite, professional and super helpful.
We have stayed many times now and never been disappointed with our rooms or the facilities.
It really is a dream place to stay.
The restaurant is Michelin standard and whether it is breakfast, lunch or dinner the food is delicious and prefect.
Situated approx 20 minutes from the airport it is an easy ride and the hotel is well positioned to continue to explore the island.

The setting is lovely and the grounds are utterly beautiful — and beautifully maintained. The traveller photos don't quite convey the beauty and extraordinary tranquillity. The staff were lovely and many of the fellow guests delightful.
The website shows the wellness area, but ignores the (perfectly adequate little) gym. I have never been to a hotel where the website does it so little justice.
Breakfast was all you could ask for, lunch adequate, but the Michelin starred restaurant dinner really didn't do it for us. Fortunately, 4 of us fitted into a taxi and some perfectly good restaurants in Mahon / Es Castell were near enough.
Overall, 4 1/2 stars.

Avoid this place!
I had an error on my reservation that I only realized once they sent a confirmation email— just 4 hours (! ) before the scheduled time. I replied immediately to correct it, but they still charged me €60. This feels less about filling tables and more about exploiting customers with fees. Truly disappointing service.
If you’re looking for a better experience, I’d recommend Menorca Experimental or anywhere else that can offer both great food and genuine hospitality.

We stayed at this hotel from 2–7 September, booking three superior rooms for our family. We spent a substantial amount of money with the hotel including lunches, wine tasting, and a boat tour arranged through the concierge.
While the setting is beautiful, our overall experience was disappointing. A nice trip was soured by petty and unprofessional service on our final day.
On our final day, four family members left early in the morning, while two of us had later flights and planned to check out in the afternoon. The night before, we confirmed with reception that two of our rooms were not booked for the following night, and that a late checkout with no cost would be no issue. The following morning, we were told again that the 2 of our rooms hadn't been sold. However, we were surprised to be told that there would be an additional charge of €80 to check out 3 hours later than the usual time.
After spending such a substantial amount of money at the hotel, this felt like an unnecessary and petty upcharge. The fact the hotel did not honour the initial receptionist’s promise is, to us, a clear sign that guest satisfaction takes a back seat to squeezing every last euro. In our view, charging €80 for 3 hours additional use of a room that had not been sold is ludicrous, especially after having spent so much money with the hotel.
When we raised our concerns with the hotel manager, the response was dismissive. It was clear to us at that point that this hotel does not value its customers.

We ate at the restaurant for lunch and it was exceptional. The prawn carpaccio followed by the John Dory was exquisite. Service was warm and friendly with lovely touches such as the local olive oil and home made butter! Go for sure!

Nice place to stay. Good restaurant, jacaranda. Servicelevel dropped during our 4-night stay. A formal complaint to the hotel's manager was not answered at all and upon check-out she totally ignored us. I am not sure it was worth the 7K in total expenses. After Torrelbenc, we went to Mallorca and finally came back to Menorca at Gran Faustino Hotel in Ciutadella. Definitely, the latter has a much better service level.

A beautiful estate, poorly managed, horrible food, outdated rooms. Don’t stay here.
The only plus. The atmosphere is unmatched. Beautiful site and views.
Food. Worst than you can imagine. For 500 euros we got mid wine, couple starters and horrific pasta. Overcooked, sauce worst than ketchup. Breakfast is poor, berries are rotten, coffee from an automated coffee machine, bread is tasteless.
Rooms are old. AC not functioning. Smell of sewage coming from toilet.
Attention to detail is poor. Luggage brought in late because staff forgot, floor mates missing.
Understaffed. Poor boy in charge of carrying luggage on a trolly was exhausted.
Staff is good, kind, helpful. Manager needs to be changed as I was explaining all of the above, I saw little interest or care. She was referring to our “contract” saying she can’t refund our room, eventually she did because we extended for an additional day.
It’s a shame because the hotel is founded by experienced company in charge of Michelin restaurants and great hotels in the North. But the approach to managing this estate needs to be updated, otherwise risk of staying irrelevant and forgotten.
Won’t be coming back.

Very disappointing, the grounds are nice but the service and attention given by the staff are absolutely subpar. Will not be returning and definitely would bot recommend. Definitely not what we were expecting when we booked this “luxury” property. This was especially true since we had arrived from another hotel on the island that was amazing. Would avoid staying here for a true luxury experience.

I booked a table for dinner for our last night and got extremely bad food poisoning where I couldn’t leave the room and they wouldn’t let me cancel the table without charging me 60 euros because it was within their 24hr policy. Completely unacceptable. No other restaurant I’ve dined at has ever been so unaccomodating to a sick person. Wouldn’t go here for the lack of hospitality alone.

We had a wonderful experience in this spectacular property that’s situated amid olive trees and vineyards. We were staying with a baby and the team was very warm to us and made us feel very much at home. The restaurant we thought was excellent and the breakfast a special one, with most products from Menorca and the region. Highly recommended.

Such a beautiful hotel in a nice setting. The rooms were spacious, clean and well-appointed and the restaurant put out a great breakfast and good dinner. Something of an out-of-the-way location but definitely a great choice if you are in the area.
