Africamar

Another outstanding holiday at the Africamar. We travel as a couple every October and can’t imagine staying anywhere else. The location is superb — close to local amenities, shops, the bus stop etc. However, the staff and warm welcome is what makes this hotel. Melissa, Nacho and the lovely owners make this feel like a home from home. Yes, it’s 3 star but it’s 5 star in terms of service. Looking forward to returning in 2026.

Location is very good. Although our stay was not great. Pillows are very flat, we had ants in our room and was told there would be a cleaner in to sort it out, there was no cleaner in until our last night and they didn’t even change the pillow cases that were dirty, the pool is okay, but very shaded so quite cold. They gave us shower gels but only had a drop of shower gel in them, literally couldn’t wash with it and that was expected for 4 days…no air con in rooms so very hot. I wouldn’t stay here again and felt it was not worth the money at all.

Excellent location. Needs updating in many places. Bit dated and air con was broken. Staff lovely in bar however. Would return if it gets a facelift. Could do with more ladders for the pool.

Our money got stolen from our room. Reception was so helpful like a wall.
We’ve got no key for a safe she gave it after our money got stolen wow thank you. Now we are 200€ poorer and had hotel with the thinnest walls on earth and the most disgusting insects in the room I’ve ever saw.

Amazing experience at the hotel. The customer service from Melissa made this stay all the better! 10/10 for her hospitality! Woman deserves a pay rise as she goes out of her way for the guests!

My daughter and I visited the Africamar for the second time. This time we went later in the season. A fabulous hotel with attentive and friendly staff. Basic accommodation but very clean and extremely welcoming. Within a minute or two of everything than Can Picafort has to offer. Booked again for a solo trip in September next year.

The hotel is ideally situated right at the top of the strip, close to the beach and loads of shops, restaurants, Aldi and bus stops. It is really easy to get a bus to Alcudia, and cheap at around £8 return for two. It's all contactless, you tap card getting on to the bus and tap out again on exit. A few days later and the charge appears on your account. Melissa on the bar / front desk is a treasure! Very energetic, with good cheer and banter. She is happy to speak to you in English or Spanish, which helped me to learn the language a little. Rooms are quite basic and a little dated, but perfectly functional and comfortable. They'll provide extra pillows on request. There is a safe in the room, which we didn't feel the need to use. It feels very safe here. One tip is to bring a power extension lead with you as there are not many power outlets, and one of them is directly above the bed in our room (217) which is not a great spot for power.

Located on the main road with plenty of shops, bars, restaurants, supermarkets and a bus stop nearby. It's very close to the beach so you can enjoy some morning swimming before the hustle of the day starts if the weather allows it. The hotel staff was really nice and friendly.
The hotel itself is very old, musty and looks like it's stuck in the 80's.
We got a corner room on the last floor so it wasn't very loud and the sea view was definitely a plus. The room is spacious but not very functional: old furniture, bad lighting, uncomfortably soft bed and very flat pillows, no bed stands, broken safe, no hanging rack on the balcony, renovated and clean bathroom though.
There is no mini fridge or kettle in the room but the staff will kindly give them to you free of charge (along with a power extension cord) if you ask at the reception. Wifi was weak in our room. They changed the towels every two days (some were new and fluffy and some stained, old and worn out) but didn't change our sheets even once in a week.
From time to time there was a strong bad smell coming from the wardrobe which was strange and unpleasant, we assumed there are some sewage/ventilation pipes inside since it shares a wall with the bathroom.
Can't say much about the pool since we never went in, just that it's small, crowded and faces the main road.

Hotel was fab in an amazing spot, walk out of the hotel onto the main strip, lovely places to eat and drink. Short walk to the beach where there is also plenty of bars and restaurants where you can enjoy the setting.
Harbour walking distance and plenty of boat trips.
Hotel was really clean, the staff are amazing! Melissa never stops and takes time to chat to all the residents and makes them feel welcome same goes to Nacho big shout out to them both!
I went with my son on my own not once did I feel anxious or uncomfortable. Enjoyed every second and nearly decided not to come home.

We have just returned from a 9 night stay in Africamar Can Picafort – what an old fashioned, dark dirty and generally all round grubby apartment for 4 people, (if you can class it as an apartment) – it was literally 1 bedroom with a double bed and 1 room with 2 sofa beds, the cleaner swept rubbish under the bed, cockroach and ants living under there! The balcony has not seen a mop in months! The kitchen, rusty microwave, rusty hob, fridge with no freezer door, everything froze, kettle not working unless finger remained on button. The shower overflowed into the bedroom, had to ask 3 times in one day for fresh towels, bathrooms always short on loo rolls, we had to take them from the toilets in the reception area. Complained to the management, her response was if you don’t like it speak to your travel provider and ask to be moved, no apology or offer to make good any of the issues we were having.
The only good thing about Africamar is Melissa what a little gem, always jolly, happy and as helpful as she could be!
My honest advice avoid this grubby hotel!

For a 3 star hotel, we got a great price and service. Very attentive and helpful staff, big room size with comfortable double bed. A decent view and the bathroom looks nice and is clean.
Has a nice pool next to the street (it is possible for those on the street to see into the pool area if that bothers you) with a wheelchair accessible entrance. Contains a bar inside the lobby.

Spotlessly clean hotel — the cleaning staff need a medal. Classic decor and family run. What a beautiful thing to see several generations of a family operating — you know you will get great service and hospitality. The cocktails by the pool were unreal — fair play to Melissa and Nacho — super employees and genuinely proud in their efforts. I would recommend this hotel no problem.

If you need a cheap option just to sleep, this is a good one. The room was very simple, with quite old furniture, but overall functional. During our first day we noticed some issue with the shower, which they fixed soon. They do not have a restaurant, but for breakfast you can find some brioches. Overall it is a good option to spend little money while being close to the beach of Picafort. If you’re looking for a more fancy experience, maybe some other options is better!

The best hotel I have ever visited! Came back again last Tuesday for 8 nights, the owner was absolutely lovely. All the staff were brilliant but especially Nacho, he is honestly one of the nicest people we’ve ever met. Rooms were amazing, very comfortable beds. Really good drinks too. Will definitely be returning.
