Protur Sa Coma Playa Hotel & Spa

Just returned from a 7 night all inclusive stay — our first time at a ‘Protur’ hotel. It was probably one of the best hotels we have ever been to. We booked a ‘twin room’ and did request to be on a high floor with a pool view — which we got. The room was immaculate and such a good size. Our balcony overlooked the main pool and got the sun all day. Even though we were close to the evening entertainment and bar area you couldn’t hear it at all from the room. There is a mini fridge that is included on all inclusive and is restocked everyday!
Probably some of the best all inclusive food we have ever had. There was something different each evening and so much choice. We particularly loved all the choice of meats on offer — they were always so tasty and tender. All the food was warm and always replenished. Even at busy times the restaurant felt very clean and staff were always so friendly.
We used the adults only pool everyday which was lovely and quiet. No need to reserve sun beds, there was always plenty. Shoutout to the bar man at the adults pool bar (sorry we didn’t get his name but we think it was James? ) He was always so chatty and asking how we were.
Entertainment was varied in the evenings — some better than others! The cocktails were delicious — we loved the mojitos! It never got too busy that you couldn’t get a seat either which was nice.

We booked a 10 night stay all inclusive at the Protur Sa Coma Playa. It was a very nice hotel.
Check in was good, informative and friendly.
We booked a suite. It was a good size for 4 of us, nice and clean and modern. Had a few issues with our mini bar being restocked for some reason — we had to speak to reception four times about this. On the last time I was told there is only one lady who restocks the whole hotel and “sometimes she runs out of time”. This was a bit disappointing.
There was lots of young children at the hotel. The hotel would be really good for young children, there wasn’t enough going on for our 9 and 12 year old really though.
We were able to use the other Protur hotel’s facilities, such as mini golf, tennis, bike hire which is really good.
The hotel is a good location though, so nice to walk to the beach (10 minute walk).
There was only 1 pool we could use — as we had children, which did get quite busy but still nice.
The hotel over all was really nice and clean and well kept. I unfortunately did get very ill (D&V) so had to stay in the room for 48 hours, I think it might have been something I ate as no one else in my family was ill so possibly not catching.
The evening entertainment was ok, it was all a bit too tame for us but we had cards and games we could play together which was fine. The boys enjoyed the pool table (€1 a game).
The food is really nice, good selection and well prepared.

Just returned from a week at this hotel. First impression of reception was that it seemed plush, cool temperature, very clean and well staffed. Check-in went very smoothly and we were allocated our room straight away as it was ready. I’d asked in advance to be allocated a pool view, and we were lucky enough they could accommodate. We were in 058 which overlooked the Adult only pool, perfect for us as a couple. Room was clean, modern and well appointed with contents of mini-bar included on the AI package.
Gym is small but again, well appointed. Free-weights, 2 x spin bikes, 2 x treadmills, 1 x cross trainer and cable cross set up. We used it daily and there were never too many in there. The only thing I would suggest to the hotel is that they stipulate no children should be in the gym at any time, as one couple brought a toddler in there whilst they did a workout a couple of times. This is less than ideal but no signage to say this isn’t allowed, which I feel there should be. Didn’t use indoor pool but plenty of people were and it looked clean.
Adult pool bar open from 10:00-18:00 and always plenty of sun beds available. Main pool only visited in passing but again, looked like plenty of sun beds available.
Restaurant did offer good choice, not always very hot, but warm enough for our liking. You get the option of one other themed restaurant during your stay — we chose to visit the Goa, Indian restaurant.

I’ve been coming to this hotel for years. Usually with my family but this year on my own. The staff is a credit to the hotel and I was very well looked after. There are too many fabulous staff to mention but I will single out Christina on reception as although busy gave me a couple of minutes of her time. The staff are all so attentive. The director, Marc and assistant director, Magdalena are constantly visible and walking round making sure that everything is as it should be. The breakfast is first rate and as for the dinners, just amazing and I was spoilt for choice every evening. As for the desserts………. Fabulous! Even the food for children looked scrummy. Some of the evening entertainment wasn’t to my taste but that’s purely personal. The children’s entertainment in the early evening is well worth watching, even as an adult, as the presenter is a bundle of energy. Always looked fun! This hotel is great for both old and young and I can highly recommend it.

This is my second ever all inclusive hotel holiday experience and this hotel did not disappoint. On first entry all reception staff are polite and take the time to talk with you. The rooms are lovely, modern and clean and my room came with a full minibar which was included in the AI price. The bathrooms include a seperate shower and bath which was great. The mini bar is restocked and house keeping came to entirely clean the room every day.
The shared areas are very clean and well decorated but the staff were where this hotel really shone. All staff speak a minimum of Spanish and English (I even heard multiple communicate in German and French too) and were always kind. In particular Jose Carlos, in the restaurant, made me feel so welcome and took my food allergies and intolerances very seriously and went out of his way every day to make sure I was taken care of to the point a table was set and waiting for me at every meal with my drink of choice (For those also with allergies, I am gluten and dairy free and each food is clearly marked with all allergens and there is the option for the chefs to make pasta, pizza and bread at your request) all the other staff members also would remember my allergies without me even needing to let them know and the ways of making drinks so they were safe.
I would absolutely come back to this hotel and would recommend it to families, couples and also solo travellers. As a solo traveller I felt so safe within the complex and in Sa Coma.

What a great hotel. We were apprehensive about the length of the journey from the airport but the road was very straight and there were no hold ups. We were allocated a room at the rear of the building which had a good sized balcony with the sun in the morning and was very peaceful. The facilities were very good. There were plenty of bikes available in all sizes and a 10 euro cash deposit was necessary for each. It was an easy ride to Porto Cristo by mostly cycle paths which was well worth the visit. A cash deposit of 10 euro each was also necessary for towels and again for robes so make sure you have enough cash for this. The tennis and padel courts were in very good condition and we had no problems in booking these. Mini golf agin in excellent condition and well thought out. We loved the indoor heated pool. Water was free with evening meals. A good selection of foods including gluten free. We found the “hot” food mostly to be “cool” which was disappointing but there are alternatives which are cooked on the grill in front of you.

We stayed for 11 nights in October and were lucky enough to have a sunny balcony overlooking the adult only pool which was lovely. Rooms are really big with a good size bathroom, hairdryer, tea coffee facilities, safe and a very efficient fridge, it is a mini bar but we made room for our own drinks. The maid service was daily and they we excellent and cleaned the room throughout each day and washed the floors most days.
There is a lot to like about this hotel, the staff were excellent, very helpful and friendly. They couldn’t do enough for you.
Food was very good for breakfast and evening meal with a good selection. As the same with most hotels we have visited in Spain the meat tends to get over cooked on the grill section. It has a large pool which is for adults and families and a large pool bar offering drinks and lunches.
The hotel was nice and peaceful but the Protur hotels around it do get very busy and there seemed to be coaches dropping off and picking up people constantly even during the night dropping off and then pick ups starting from approx 4 am which you could here the coaches.
Air con was good, we have stayed at some hotels when they don’t allow air con in October but as it was very warm it was appreciated.

First visit to the Protur hotel and spa and we wasn’t disappointed. We received a very friendly welcome on arrival, check in was easy no waiting. Our room was very modern, with a touch panel for control of lights, loved the modern touch, the best shower ever and the toiletries were of a lovely fragrance. Jose in the dining room was always very welcoming in the morning along with the lady maitre D. Maria in the restaurant is very pleasant and always said hello when she caught sight of us, always working hard. Food was of a very good standard, we aren’t fussy eaters. Meat was of a good standard, often spoilt for choice. The desserts were amazing and something you would find in a London/paris patisserie, they were a delight. The entertainment was varied every night and was of a good standard, bar men were lovely and friendly in the entertainment room, and I liked that they had a cocktail of the night — they were good quality drinks made with branded spirits. The hotel and grounds are lovely & what we really appreciated was the fact that no matter what time of day you went to the pool you could always get a sunbed, no raving about or rushing, your on holiday after all for a relaxing time. We dined one evening complimentary at the Cardomon Asian restaurant, it was a nice, all inclusive of drinks even though we were only half board. Almost felt you were going out for the night as the restaurant was a short walk away.

Stayed here for 4 nights recently after a 7 night Marella cruise round the western med.
Didn't know what to expect, not sure of the location but we were absolutely delighted with the result.
This hotel we thought is phenomenal.
From check-in to checking out could not have been more pleased at our booking.
The receptionist who booked us in (a French lady who spoke fantastic English) was superb. She explained everything to us slowly but surely and couldn't have been more helpful, thank you.
The pool area's are brilliant with any amount of sunbeds available and no rush to get out of bed and grab one which is a bonus lol 😀

Food, well we were very surprised especially with the amount of different nationalities in the hotel, most of the food was british with a twist and we always found something very appetising to eat. By the way if you want british bacon they cook it fresh for you while you wait 😃
The entertainment is ok if you want to stay in?
The bar staff and waiters do a great job and are always very pleasant and helpful.
Overall would definitely stay again!
By the way you have a walk in shower/toilet room and you don't even have to flick a light switch as it's so up to date you just put your finger on a main panel located just inside your hotel room door 🤷 what more could you ask for And TV has all sorts channels mostly british.

My first time in Sa Coma. The hotel was lovely. Great location for shops and beach, very clean inside and outside. My room had everything I needed. Comfy bed, brilliant shower, toiletries and balcony. Loved it! No complaints with the food. We were half board but we are coming back next year and going all inclusive. The choice of meats were good, I'm not a great meat eater but others in our group said the choice and quality was good. Always found something I liked at meal times so not a problem for me. What made our stay were the staff. They all work so hard, always smiling and chatty. We watched the start of the 6km run from our hotel and bought some tops and wrist bands from the organisers, as it was for a worthy cause. Didn't envy the runners as it was a very hot day. Well done everyone! Overall this was a great holiday experience and one I would like to repeat. See you next year!

Having just come back from 7 nights here I was more than impressed with the whole experience.
The room was clean, more than comfortable and very aesthetically pleasing.
The facilities, were great with a choice of pools and each one had ample of sun beds available, but peak time I imagine could be a different story.
The daily activities archery, shooting and sports were great and all free with free bike hire too.
The food was good and only one day we struggled with what was on offer, but this was due to personal likes and not lack of offerings.
Breakfast was always plentiful with a varied array of sausages and different bacons which for an english person was nice to see back bacon on offer daily.
All the staff was polite and greeted you even when just passing in the hall ways.
I would, and probably will stay here again.

Although the hotel was spotless and staff were amazing there are still some small improvements could be made. All the pools were freezing even the indoor heated one maybe heating even the children’s splash pool would be an idea especially with so many young families. Facilities were good although themed restaurant was poor, children’s entertainment started too late maybe they could bring it forward an hour. Although you could use the facilities at all Protur hotels surely your all inclusive should be valued if only for drinks.

Since I also read reviews before coming, I’d like to leave my own. I agree with others that this hotel is very good. The food at the restaurant is delicious, with a wide variety to choose from – everyone will find something for themselves. The rooms were cleaned daily and I have no complaints here either. Every evening there is a mini disco for children, led by an amazing animator. After the mini disco, there are concerts or different shows, which are also very entertaining.
One thing I could point out is that there aren’t really many activities for children during the day. There is a mini club, but the activities there were quite rare – maybe because we stayed in September, at the end of the season. The hotel itself is quiet, there is no music by the pool, which we actually saw as a plus. There are lots of children at the hotel, so it would be great if the hotel also had some indoor space for kids for when the weather isn’t good or when you want to take a break from the sun.
As for the pool, there was no problem finding sunbeds. During the day there is a snack bar by the pool, but the choice is rather limited. Still, on all inclusive we never went hungry.
Overall, I would definitely recommend this hotel, especially for families with small children.

This is a superb hotel – possibly the best we’ve ever stayed in — and we were really glad we dug a bit deeper to pay for this standard of experience.
The staff were professional, friendly, hard-working, and ran a really well-organised operation throughout the place. We hope they are paid well for their work.
The facilities are brilliant, including the fact this is part of a cluster of several Protur hotels all in a very close area, meaning some facilities at the others are available to you as well. We enjoyed mini golf over at the Protur Safari, and having an Indian meal at Goa, all part of the all-inclusive package. We also had a go at Aqua Gym and were put through our paces for a full hour, plus I went to the hotel gym a couple of times and the equipment there was decent.
The wider location was great – not far from the beautiful beach, plus shops and bars.
I have a food allergy, so it was reassuring to see the solid allergen labelling at the all-inclusive buffet, in addition to the menu at Goa, where one of the friendly staff was able to address my questions in relation to potential cross-contamination (whether the pakoras were cooked in the same fryer as the kids’ fish fingers).
The entertainment in the evenings was decent, though the amount of people watching seemed to vary quite a bit from night to night.

I'm a regular traveller… Disappointed for the money.
Booked through Thomas Cook, room advertised as double pool view room with terrace. On arrival was given a 2nd floor balcony room 294 away from main area, with main view across to local street/ shops. That said looking at the pool side rooms there are only a few and they are directly behind a hedge by Reception, so expect it to be noisy. — but in reality so mis-sold.
On complaining we were able to remove to a better balcony location, but shouldn't not have had to complain.
AC in rooms only work when temperature below 25C, otherwise for most of the days we had to keep curtains closed to keep the heat out from the sun. AC air flow is very low so takes along while to reduce temperature… not great as temps were 30C.
Food was average, could be drastically improved with better food quality, salads. Staff looking after the tables in the outside area were poor, need managing and retraining to meet and greet staff and serve drinks rather than very noisily clear tables. Theatre chef/ food quality average.
Hotel fine, clean and has most of the facilities you need with others available on the hotel resort, but these are not really pushed or advertised — also hotel is a bit further away from the main strip.
Drinks, this is a typical all including hotel, so average beer / cocktails — only some staff are trained to make cocktails, would recommend that only go with B&B or Half Board.

I stayed with my two kids aged 12 and 15 in August. We had a great holiday and would return to Protur Sa Coma Playa.
I will start with the many positives.
The hotel is immaculately clean throughout, the rooms and the main areas. We had an issue with ants in our room but this was dealt with swiftly. The beds are comfy, aircon was great and the rooms are clean and modern, if a little smaller than we’ve had elsewhere (for 3 of us).
The staff are all fantastic and work so hard. The reception staff, bar staff, restaurant staff, lifeguards, entertainment team, all of them.
We were half board and the food was plentiful and varied, although my kids chose to eat pizza for most meals! I enjoyed the evening food. I didn’t like the cooked breakfast option I found it to be very salty and unusual textures, but I loved all the fresh fruit and pastries and was more than happy with the quality and variety on offer. We had one speciality restaurant visit included in our stay, the kids chose… Italian, for more pizza! We enjoyed being treated to table service for a night.
What made the holiday was the sun lounger availability. There were always loungers and parasols available which meant the mornings were relaxed and there was no rush for beds. This is rare and we appreciated this aspect.
The adult pool and the indoor pool were also good options.
The only negatives I can think of…
There werent many other teens but there were lots of toddlers!
We all got sore feet from the rough base of the pool.

There's alot said about this hotel, which is very good, and you have seen some well deserved good reviews. We are a family here after a 1 week cruise with Tui, which was absolutely amazing.
This hotel is. Clean, super clean, modern, set in a lively area close to beach, shops, pubs, restaurants etc.
Its August and there is alot of toddlers, and the family pool is obviously busy, as expected, lifeguard on duty, it's clean and sunbeds are good. Pool bar excellent with near by toilets. We used the adult pool as over 16s only and was lovely.
We dined in the buffet most afternoon and evening and ate at the Fontana which is connected with the hotel, which is a lovely setting but food not so good, pathetic even, I've had better lasagne from Aldi.
The drinks are excellent, it's Estrella o draught and branded colas and Fanta etc. Evening entertainment, well we had to go elsewhere, wasn't that good and had to get away from the young children who were having a ball. But the bar staff are great and work very hard making excellent cocktails. We went to the local bars instead mainly the King's head.
The beach is lovely and shallow and very warm.
In conclusion, it's a great family hotel, theres young kids but expect it this time of year, but you can escape and use the adult pool. Oh and they do some good pool aqua zumba etc.
