Villa Marsal

Review of Salom Verde Villa, Majorca.
My husband, young son, and I stayed at Salom Verde Villa for one week, and unfortunately, we left quite disappointed. The Villa was described as beautiful and luxurious. It was not.
On arrival, we were shocked by the dangerous amount of ant poison scattered on the floor — it was at the front door, inside the kitchen units, and even behind a loose kickboard that had completely fallen off. This was a terrible first impression, especially with a child.
The toilets were another big issue. One was broken throughout our stay — despite attempts to fix it, it was simply left out of order. The other gave off a constant smell of urine and both had stains, which was very unpleasant. Hygiene across the villa was poor overall: no mattress protectors on the beds, dirty glass around the pool, and recycling bins left oddly in the hallway.
Other problems included:
The TV didn’t work.
Wi-Fi was very weak.
The pool area had cracked glass and a generally unclean feel.
Chalk marks were still left on the floor from previous guests.
On the positive side, the pool itself, although small, was lovely and private. The surrounding horses were also beautiful and a highlight for us.
Sadly, the negatives far outweighed the positives. For the price and expectations, we would not return.

The property was in a great location, walkable to Portopetro and the outside area with the pool was beautiful. However, the inside of the property is very rustic (which we were expecting from the photos but it was more rustic than we thought it would be). We also had a few issues while we were there — the dishwasher didn't work, the Wi-Fi was sketchy, something in the washing machine broke off mid cycle and shredded our clothing, the fridge drawers were broken and we were aware of rats in the garden/pool area. When we reported issues to Villas Calador they were very responsive — replaced the dishwasher quickly with a new one and sent a technician to fix the washing machine. The cleaners came twice but on the first visit they simply changed the sheets and towels but didn't do any cleaning and on the second visit they simply dropped off fresh towels and left. We kept the house really clean during our stay because ants were an issue — despite that the ants still seemed to get everywhere. We still had a great holiday but were disappointed with the overall cleanliness of the property and the poor condition of the appliances and quality of glassware/crockery. The house could be amazing if it were to be upgraded. We just didn't feel that the cost matched the quality, sadly.

The facility is located in a great location and that's it. The facility was dirty, the floors, kitchen and fridge (which was leaking), bathrooms without paper and hand soap. Lots of ants and other insects on the floor. There were only two hair dryers for the entire facility, one of which didn't work. The furniture is damaged and dirty. Before we started staying there, we had to clean up in order to function. The facility may have looked good a long time ago, but now it is very neglected. This is largely the fault of the cleaning and repair service. No air conditioning, and a working TV remote control (the remote control was missing).
