Refugi Pont Romà

Although I give 5 stars, please don't expect any luxury! It's a hostel primarily for hikers with large rooms, very basic breakfast and simple bathrooms. But that's great, because it also is cheap and conveniently located directly on the trail!

I start by saying that we had a very good experience using refugi at Tossals Verds and Son Amer. The same would have been said for Pollenca's Pont Roma refuge were it not for an incident I describe below which happened on the 14th of March.
We booked two nights here as it was the end of our hiking trip. Upon checking in, we weren't sure if we wanted to have dinner there on both nights. So we paid for one dinner and agreed to let the lady know in the morning if we wanted dinner the next day.
Unfortunately by the time we went to book dinner the next morning, the staff member had changed. He insisted (almost shouting at me) that he "will not prepare any more dinners because the dishwasher had been faulty for 3 weeks".
I could have accepted many reasons for refusing a dinner order, but treating clients badly as a protest towards the management is not acceptable, and definitely not in the tone used.
It's a pity that we ended on a bad note, the experience of doing a part of GR221 was otherwise great!

We stayed there before we started the GR 221, the rooms and bathrooms were nice and clean. The staff was also helpful. The location is also quite convenient, close to the bus stop, 15 min walk to Lidl.
