Cap Rocat, a Small Luxury Hotel of the World

My wife and I have visited Spa’s all over the world and have experienced both good and bad. This falls somewhere in the middle.
Let’s start with the facilities. The whole place is like something from a fairy tale, and is extremely worthy of the 5 star rating for this alone.
Where it lets itself down. 1. The staff do jut enough and aren’t overly friendly or attentive. You are left to your own devices, we weren’t shown around and didn’t really feel welcomed. 2. The Massage wasn’t anything special and didn’t reflect the price.
It’s an experience that I’m glad we did, if for nothing other than the facilities.

We stayed during October 2025.
This was our third visit to the resort in three years. We had discovered the Sentinel Suites on a previous stay and were excited to return specifically to experience one of the hotel’s most exclusive suites.
We arrived late in the evening and checked straight into the suite before heading to dinner. Upon entering the room, there was a noticeable damp smell. However, we had experienced a slight smell during previous stays, so initially we did not think too much of it. Looking back, it became clear the hotel had attempted to disguise the issue — the doors had been left wide open prior to arrival, and strong room sprays and scents had been placed throughout the suite.
After dinner, within an hour of returning to the suite, I suddenly became extremely unwell with severe nausea. Thankfully, I had one anti-sickness tablet in my wash bag. I then took a sleeping tablet in the hope I could sleep through the symptoms.
At around 2am, my partner woke up violently sick. By 3am, I contacted reception and explained that we were both extremely ill and urgently needed to be moved to another room without damp issues. We were eventually relocated at approximately 4am.
Unfortunately, my partner remained sick throughout the following day. As we were only staying for three nights, losing an entire night and most of the following day to illness completely impacted the experience. It is impossible to fully recover and enjoy a short luxury stay after becoming so unwell.

Pros — amazing spa staff and masseuse (Annika is next level), great and creative bartenders and bar (with live music that is really good), delicious breakfast, fabulous golf cart and transport staff — Lisa was a great welcome. Amazing spot for privacy. Unique Location and views.
Mehs — not as high-end as it tries to be. Missed opportunities – only 30 rooms is great – but the hotel restaurant allows other visitors – so you don’t get the time you want or any sort of priority. It is quite secluded – the gym and spa pool are amazing, but it would be nice to have more than just a yoga class in the mornings. There are no schedules or maps to help you with that. The amenities in the bathroom are fine – but again, perhaps based on social media, you would expect more. Full disclosure – we went to the Belmond before we arrived here, and that is one of the best properties I’ve ever stayed at — so maybe this isn’t the most fair comparison.

Very unique stay. Excellent stewardship of its historical roots as a fort and really good job integrating the resort within that space. Attentive service, strong ambience, especially at night when to torchlights are lit. Do keep in mind at you are staying in converted fortification — the layout and decor are not necessarily what you expect from a modern high-end resort. But we found it to be comfortable. The roof terrace and sunbeds are especially great. They bring breakfast to your room or Terrace.

Cap Rocat was by far one of the best hotel experiences my husband and I have experienced yet. The property alone is breathtaking and the service is outstanding. We ate at both restaurants and had lovely meals at each. The location to Palma is convenient & the views throughout the entire property are the best. We can’t wait to come back!

FOOD POISONING WITH HOSTILE RESPONSE.
I am writing to warn others about a recent (September 2025) visit. The service and hospitality were extremely disappointing and ultimately became hostile as the hotel became concerned about its risk exposure to a health incident for which I believe (but cannot confirm) it was responsible. For context and disclosure on the opinion contained in this review, I work in hospitality and have high expectations, and at the time of my stay at Cap Rocat I was 16 weeks pregnant and traveling alone. I feel obligated to warn all future guests who are considering this property about my experience.
I acknowledge that it is difficult to identify the precise origin of food poisoning. In this case however, I am extremely confident my food poisoning came from food at Cap Rocat. After arriving and exploring the property in the afternoon, I ordered tagliatelle with shrimp to my room for an early dinner. Approximately four hours after my dinner, I began to experience nausea and within an hour of that vomiting began. Extreme symptoms continued for almost 10 hours after the initial onset. For the duration of my symptoms, I also requested sports drinks, water and ice, which the hotel promptly provided. Not being a health professional, and without access to my OBGYN in the United States to alleviate concerns or guide me through how I could get relief, I was extremely concerned about the health of my baby and to a lesser extent my own health.

This was by far our favorite hotel we’ve ever stayed at. From when I booked it a year ago up until we departed, the attention to detail was near perfect. Every aspect of your stay is done so well I was actually waiting for something to go wrong and it never did. Concierge crafted the perfect itinerary for us and made adjustments onsite as needed. There’s also such a low amount of hotel guests that it feels like it’s your own place. The daily breakfast, sea club, and general service from all the hotel employees was truly unreal. The best honeymoon location we could’ve asked for! Thank you Cap Rocat team!

Our stay at Cap Rocat was, without question, the most remarkable hotel experience my wife and I have ever had. From the moment you step onto the property, you’re treated with genuine warmth and an effortless sense of luxury. Every member of the staff is exceptional — friendly, attentive, and sincerely kind.
A special mention goes to Leslie, who is by far the best hospitality professional we’ve ever met. Her thoughtfulness and warmth made our stay truly unforgettable.
The private breakfast each morning was the perfect start to the day — peaceful, personalized, and beautifully presented. The entire experience felt as if we had our own private resort, shared only with a few other guests.
While Cap Rocat is certainly a splurge, it’s easy to understand why it’s priced as it is. The level of detail, service, and tranquility is unmatched. It’s not just a hotel — it’s a destination we’ll remember for a lifetime.

Such a lush experience. Highly recommend the sea club — need to make reservations in advance. Absolutely gorgeous setting for lunch. We arrived early and had a drink in their grand bar.

We spent 5 nights at the resort in June 2025. It was a very happy, relaxing experience, right up there as one of the best (if not the best) places we have stayed in. The location is stunning and the hotel is so elegant. We took advantage of all that the hotel has to offer — lovely pool and beach areas, beautiful restaurants and bar area, free bikes to explore the area. A really chilled vibe throughout — great food and drinks. We just loved the place and would highly recommend.
We do not understand the negative reviews left by others about hotel staff.
Our experience of each and every staff member was top drawer — nothing was too much trouble and all were friendly, good humoured and accommodating. For us, you can’t fake that for just one guest over others as it is indicative of great staff culture given our wonderful experience was consistent across all staff at hotel — from concierge, front desk, cleaning staff, restaurant and bar waiters and management who are quietly in the background overseeing.
An unforgettable experience for us and one we hope to repeat.

Amazing experience, I highly recommend coming here while in Mallorca. We came for lunch so that we could see the blue water and we were so happy we did. Service was impeccable, food was good! Views were amazing. This restaurant is definitely worth the visit. Even if you don’t like seafood, I would still come for the experience and scenery.

Spent four nights at Cap Rocat earlier this month with my husband. Built out of an old fort, it is such a unique environment for a hotel. The breakfast delivered to the room in the morning was lovely and we enjoyed the Sea Club for dinner as well as drinks in the main area. The little cove/beach is small but perfect for a dip. We also went out in the Cap Rocat boat for the day with Captain Cris and had a wonderful time. Seas were a bit choppy that day but he did a great job and we had the hotel put lunch on the boat and it was perfect and relaxing. Cris is awesome!
Special thanks to Rosa in concierge who helped plan some things with me in advance. I keep making changes and she was so kind to me! Also, took mat pilates with Violeta and she is so lovely and gives a great class. Lastly, Pedro, working at the beach was such a kind human.

Absolutely stunning hotel. I’ve stayed in some beautiful five star hotels and this is up there with the best.
Just a short 3 night stay which given the temperatures (mid 30s) was enough. It was too hot to lay in the sun or do anything outdoors so not the best experience it could have been but they can’t change the weather!
The room was beautiful, the bed very large and comfortable. Fantastic discrete air con coming up quietly from the floor. You couldn’t hear it and the temperature was just right without us having to touch any controls.
Everything we needed was there and room service was excellent. No delays, everything was brought within 20 mins. We loved that breakfast came to us each morning, staff set it all out beautifully at the table on the terrace.
The outdoor spaces that came with the room were great, a huge bed with shade, sun loungers and the dining area. All with stunning views.
The main pool area looked incredible, we didn’t use it but walked by a few times.
I had a treatment at the spa which was great.
We ate at both restaurants, Sea Club was good and had more beautiful views but our experience at the Fortress restaurant wasn’t great (see separate review).
The golf carts were there in an instant to whisk you around from room to restaurant and the staff all happy to help.
I would love to return when temperatures are more reasonable.

Cap Rocat is an absolutely stunning property, and the Sea Club is the most beautiful restaurant I’ve ever visited.
A special mention to Benjamin, who drove us to the restaurant in the buggy, he was wonderful. He went out of his way to make our evening memorable, took lovely photos, and made sure we had the best time.
We’ll definitely be coming back the next time we’re in Mallorca.

Our dinner at Sea Club at Cap Rocat was absolutely fantastic and a highlight of our trip. It was our first time dining here, and we left feeling genuinely happy, relaxed, and thoroughly impressed by the entire experience.
We’re from central London and are lucky to be spoiled for choice when it comes to high-end dining. So, we naturally arrived with fairly high expectations—but Sea Club surpassed them in every way. The setting is beautiful and serene, with stunning views that immediately set the tone for something special.
From the moment we arrived, the service was flawless. Every member of staff was warm, friendly, and effortlessly professional. They struck the perfect balance—attentive without being intrusive, polished yet relaxed. It felt seamless, never over the top or forced, and it really allowed us to unwind and enjoy the moment.
The food was equally outstanding. Every dish was prepared with care and beautifully presented. The salt-baked fish in particular was a real highlight—fresh, perfectly cooked, and full of delicate flavour. You could taste the quality of the ingredients and the thought behind each dish.
It’s rare to find a restaurant that delivers so well on every level—atmosphere, service, and food—but Sea Club truly did. We left already talking about when we could return and will absolutely be recommending this gem to any friends visiting Mallorca in the future.
This was one of the best dining experiences we've had in a long time.

Seated at a beautifully set long table by the sea, we enjoyed an unforgettable evening filled with amazing food, a stunning atmosphere, and warm, attentive service. The setting is truly one-of-a-kind – perfect for celebrating special moments. We’ll definitely be back!

Stunning — style over substance. Not a hotel guest but a restaurant customer (sea club) If you want some beautiful pictures and a nice night then go. The food was better in restaurants half the price. Felt like the staff didn’t want you looking around the hotel. Food was a 5/10, service was great tho.
