Unfortunately, this stay did not meet basic comfort, safety, hygiene, or communication standards.
During winter, the apartment was extremely cold. The wall AC unit was not sufficient to heat the room, and for the first two nights I couldn’t sleep and woke up with a sore throat. Messages sent to the host via Airbnb were ignored.
A portable heater was only provided after involving Airbnb support, then removed without any notice while we were away. The host entered the apartment multiple times without informing us, which is unacceptable. After further discussions with Airbnb support, the central heating was finally turned on.
The internet connection in the apartment did not work at all. Although several Wi-Fi networks were listed, none functioned from our unit. Mobile data was also unusable due to very poor reception, which made it impossible for me to work during the stay.
There were also multiple cleanliness, hygiene, and maintenance issues:
• Slugs inside the apartment, including on the bed and on our clothes.
• A serious ant infestation in the kitchen and bathroom.
• A broken bathroom door knob — the door could only be closed from inside, so we had to keep it open at all times.
• I observed bed sheets being washed together with a bathroom floor mat, which raises serious hygiene concerns.
Additionally, the listing stated that the apartment has a washing machine. In reality, the washing machine is shared between all guests and the cleaning staff, not private.
