In one spectacular word.

A privileged setting, relaxing, and very careful. The staff is friendly. The room and the various rooms are very clean and warm. You can have breakfast (breakfast buffet) with homemade desserts, fresh juice, variety of fruit, cold meats… dinner. It was all very rich.

Romina the lovely girl who checked us in and greeted us was a gem. Her employer should be very happy and lucky to have her on staff. The dinner and breakfast was tasty. And again staff were friendly, helpful and very courteous!

An experience to be remembered. We were fortunate to have the superior suite, it was a show piece inside and out. Stunning bathroom with quality provisions.
The breakfast was outstanding, the decor stunning and the gardens breathtaking!

My stay here even though it was a short one, it was mesmerizing. As a matter of fact, I am going back to Spain just to visit this place again in August 2018. I was there in May 2018. A beautiful restauration of an old factory from the 18th century, and the restaurant is to "die"for. A beautiful place to stay.

My husband and I stayed here for one night while walking the Camino. This place is like a dream… The rooms are beautiful, the entire building and area is amazing. It is not a budget accommodation but it is definitely worth a stay. I recommend dinner on site — it is very good and at a reasonable price as well. Be sure that you speak with someone ahead of time to place your dinner order. The staff are all very helpful and friendly.

From the moment you cross the entrance doors you enter an environment of warmth, tranquility, relaxation, luxury, kindness, cordiality and syndrome of Stendhal to be surrounded by such beauty. Large expanse of terrain, manicured lawns, groves, sets of tables and chairs in every corner. Bordeándolo River all providing a consistent musical thread better than a Prozac sobredósis.
Not that it is advisable, is that to put five stars, I have to lower the note to other accommodations because, in proportion, would have to put 10 stars.

It is a hotel with a lot of charm, in a very old building, very well restored and with immense gardens. The river that surrounds it confers a murmur of background, which helps to rest. Very good breakfast. We miss being able to eat there. In the village we found nothing decent to eat. The site is highly recommended.

Of the best cottages I know. All care in detail. Interior presses you with a very charming decorated rooms. Outdoor expectations with beautiful gardens and very careful. It has a natural pool which is wonderful. Good cooking and attention of 10. Completely recommended.

Great hotel, in a beautiful place. Very natural environment located in an old textile factory in the. Rural. Galician. Over a bend of the river to harness his energy, the. Old factory has been rehabilitated with very good taste and very few rooms. The hotel environment within your property is great and gives you a good time to miss.
The attention is very professional and very cozy, a very difficult mix to get.
Everything seems to have just been released although it has been open for ten years.
Every detail of decoration is well thought out and gives the feeling of being visiting an old house with a lot of life.
You can walk to Caldas by the banks of the river watching mills and waterfalls.
Indispensable for travellers without haste.
You can have breakfast and dinner. The breakfast with products made in the house, I could not say if by the environment or by the quality, but I found it insurmountable within a logic simplicity. And above all this, the excellent personal treatment to facilitate the enjoyment of the stay.
Probably the best establishment I have ever visited. My sincere congratulations to the managers of this place for the successful rehabilitation and good taste and employees for their effort and good work.

The place is spectacular, a peace, an ideal tranquility. The service is very attentive and very friendly. Advisable 100% and very eager to return. This super close to Pontevedra so for a relaxing weekend getaway is great.

The best place in the world to rest and relax to enjoy the nature and typical meals in Galicia a real marvel both the attention of the staff as the other guests and their immense gardens are ideal for walking and enjoy the Nature.

Such a beautiful and historical place, the setting is just wonderful, with a stunning garden area and beautiful rooms. Lili welcomed us with a big smile after a long day riding on the rain on the Camino de Santiago, she even insisted on taking in heavy, wet panniers into my room. They got us 2 rooms with views over the garden and the beds were so comfortable, what we needed after a hard day cycling! We will certainly stay again, thank you so much so welcoming so warmly.

A beautiful place to stay. The staff were welcoming and friendly and breakfasts and dinners were a delightful experience. Lovely to sit out in one of the many seating areas in the garden to read or have a drink in the early evening. We would recommend this hotel to everybody.

The renovated old 19th Century textile mill has been done extremely well and the hotel, the grounds and the rooms are beautiful. We enjoyed our favorite beverages on 1 of many patios surrounding the grounds and listened to the waterfalls from the pool and stream. The staff were very friendly and happy to help and were available any time. An amenity I enjoyed was their friendly dog who was very cute. Stop and say hi to Archie. This is not your Holiday Inn kind of place so kids may not appreciate the luxury of the beds and hotel but there are lots of room to play and the pool. The food and baked goods were great also. 5 Stars for our stay.

This place was just amazing. No expense has been spared to change the old buildings into a wonderful Rural Hotel. One night isn't enough but we were on the Camino. We highly recommend.

Setting was nice but rooms super chinsey and got told off for bringing food to put room. Also ordered a couple of coffee in the evening which turned out to cost around €4 EACH. Total rip off.

I travel a lot and have seen a lot of beautiful places but this hotel is in my top three for sure… we fell in love with that place and booked an extra night… a must see!

This hotel soothes the soul. Stunning location & stunning property. I travel quite a bit and stay in many different hotels, I can not fault anything about Torre do Rio, it is definitely up there on my favourite hotels list. The lady who runs everything is amazing, super friendly and superb at her job. The dinner and wine were delicious and my room which is on the top floor overlooks the river and garden, fab. I highly highly recommend. My best decision while being on the camino de Santiago.

Extraordinary location on a promontory surrounded by the Umia River, on days of torrential rain the water is spectacular. Stunning views all year round, excellent (if not pricey) restaurant. Good service and impeccable rooms.

Torre do Río is a real gem tucked away in the Galician countryside near Caldas de Reis. An intimate boutique hotel nestled in a lush green corner of a beautiful forest and virtually surrounded by a gorgeous river. There are plenty of little tucked away areas on the ample grounds to sit and read or just meditate. Our sumptuous room had a spectacular view and with the windows open, the tranquil sounds of nature and a gurgling river slowed everything down. Service & food is excellent and nothing is too much trouble for the hosts. We had a wonderful stay and will definitely be back.

This place was incredible! The grounds were surrounded by a river with waterfalls. It has a river fed pool and the rooms are incredible. It has an old cotton mill on site and the hotel is the manor that the owners lived in. Dinner and breakfast were great! If I ever get married I'm doing my honeymoon here!

A couple of years ago I was. Beautiful place in a magnificent natural setting. When I can I'll be back. Ideal for rest.

A sensory ecstasy. A setting incredible, superbly taken advantage, where the River Umia is the true protagonist. The hotel is set in such way that you believe to be on an island. All full of very careful details. Much, but much work is seen in this establishment. If the outside is amazing, the interior is not far behind. In few places we have felt so at ease. And the best treatment, and proximity to the pedestrian. Possibly the best cottage in Galicia. We came to know it with the gastronomic autumn package, but surely we will return.
If I had to put a stick it is the press which gives me to see no advantage of the magnificent promontory used lookout to fill with native species of trees rather than Palm trees. But hey, it's all spectacular.

An unforgettable experience, a beautiful hotel of stone and wood in a masterly way with exquisite gardens. An environment with oak and chestnut trees beside a beautiful river.

A wonderful site. It is incredible that there are those houses/Palace in such hiding places.
The images that they are not at the height of what you see and feel to be there, is pure peace with the sound of the River on both sides and gardens of film.

A site with a lot encando in nature. The Ideal place to go to relax and stroll through the gardens only. The deal is exceptional.

The stay was in couple (23. Feb. 2013). From the entrance to innermost space of the rural House are wonderful and spectacular. It could not have been better, or more romantic. We were only one day because we were passing but we would have been a whole month.
I don't know that it was better if open any window of the House and hear only the passage of the River below the House or walking around their gardens enjoying the smells that surround an atmosphere of tranquility and that takes you to another time. The secrets of the garden is better than the discover for yourselves there.
The offer included a dinner at the restaurant invite you, in the village. 2 minutes by car.
The dishes were simple. But the feelings eating and try the Ribeira Sacra "Strains Vellas" were great. We don't want olvidsrnos eel restsurador. John, the owner of the restaurant was lovely, even told us some little secret of your kitchen. And their dishes beautiful within simplicity.
Returning to the hotel, wonderful room, breakfast the best we tested in a hotel and the farewell or penalty. Because our memory of this place is magical.
