The owners instead of apologiing to us for some problems such as for example and especially the heatings, try to invent stories that do not have a minimum of logical sense and founded bases, for example we have been told that the heaters go off because we keep the Door open thing absolutely false, especially because who ever would sleep in a hotel with the door open? And besides this there were also other various episodes but the thing that angers me most is to tease the customer especially with disproportionate prices compared to the services. To be taken into account in addition to my friends and I are pilgrims intent on making the way to Santiago and for 6 euro per day we slept in the municipal hostels with equally comfortable beds and more kindness of staff and heating on 24h on 24h. I hate to get angry especially on a trip like this but I hate when you tell me lies and it is to keep in mind that I work in the hotel industry for 7 years and I know what I'm talking about and how things are. Maybe it was a pure randomness all that happened to me but this was my experience in this hotel in which I will never go back.

Hotel Akelarre is located in San Marcos on foot of the Camino de Santiago. A few 700 meters away, you will find the chapel of San Marcos and Monte do Gozo, where the pilgrim can see for the first time on the way, the towers of the cathedral and the Holy city.
Located in a rural setting just 5 km from the cathedral of Santiago de Compostela, it is an ideal place for our guests, whether tourists, pilgrims or commercials, to enjoy the peace and tranquility of the place, without giving up the proximity of the city. This, coupled with the easy communication with the motorway, make the Hotel Akelarre a perfect accommodation to enjoy your holidays and to get to know Galicia.

A quiet place and very close to Santiago, a bus every twenty minutes leaves you in the center, the stop a few hundred meters.

I've only been to the bar sometimes. Right, normal. Of the rooms I can't talk, I don't know them yet.

I love this hotel. It is perfectly situated in a quiet environment only a few minutes from the city centre by car. There is a good bus service if you prefer not to drive. Staff were very friendly and helpful. They gave us all directions we needed. Rooms were comfortable and cleaned daily to a high standard. We stayed for 28 nights and will book again in our next holidays.
