What a hotel should be! Luxury and beauty in a gorgeous medieval building but totally up to date. Some things are actually better than I have a home! The restaurants are pricey at 5 stars but the food is, definitely, 5 stars and worth it. Service is fast, courteous and efficient. In Summary, a great place to stay. After 3 days, it's still as wonderful as the first.

Hotel of the prestigious Chain of Paradores is located inside the Hostal (hostel) built by the Catholic kings in 1400 to accommodate pilgrims; Currently, in addition to hosting the hotel, it is also a national monument and can be visited. The location is absolutely stunning, on the magnificent square where the cathedral also overlooks.
As far as the hotel is concerned, the rooms are still functionally furnished, although respecting the overall style of the environment. Breakfast is rich and varied in both salty and sweet foods. The hotel has two in-house restaurants. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful as well as efficient: any request is met in very short time. For those who arrive by car: you can also walk the pedestrian streets (if the police stop you just say you are headed to the parador), then you leave the car parked right in front of the hotel and the car valet will think he will take it to the connected parking lot at the hotel and bring it back whenever you need it. This service (essential) costs 19 euros per day (well spent).

Beautiful place, well maintained and delicious breakfast spread. Beds are a bit hard but that’s my only criticism. Can’t beat the location — highly recommend.

Parador which among its seem keeps centuries of history. Located at the foot of the Cathedral of Santiago.
As any Hostel the stay is very nice and comfortable. Breakfasts and other excellent meals as well because it is Galicia.
It Is of the first best Paradores in our country. Just one point in my opinion, the very correct but impersonal treatment.
Important, it has parking and valet service, which is not little in Santiago.

A brilliant place to stay. Set around four courtyards in a magnificent historic building. Rooms are beautifully furnished in keeping with the place but exceptionally comfortable. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff and everything happens as you expect and when you ask for it. Splendidly situated on the cathedral square. It's expensive but stay here when you finish the Camino if you possibly can. You will have deserved it.

So here's the thing about Hostal dos Reis Católicos: I has been waiting for 10 years to stay here. I built it up too much and it just didn't live up to the image I had. It is a beautiful facility, full of interesting antique furniture. The Wi-Fi is terrible, the bathroom is amazing, and the breakfast was quite lovely. The beds were just okay, nothing to rave about. It's a beautiful place to look at and check out with an amazing location in the plaza right next to the cathedral.

Great hotel. The best hostel of all. A single fault that is repeated in many hotels but that one of this level should not and is that there are no plugs in the bedside tables. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Willing to help at all times.

Really nice. But there's a few different sizes of basic rooms all for the same price. So smile and ask if a large room is available when booking in.

I prayed the order of the Catholic monarchs that the city of Santiago de Compostela needed a new hospital able to give fulfilled and dignified service to all the devout, sick and healthy that to the city arrived.
The centuries passed and between these walls, Rosalía de Castro was baptized.
Today, property of national patrimony, it is a very special place and advisable even if it is just to have a coffee. Quality is at the height of history although if I have to complain about something is the impersonal and little close that is the deal. You guys enjoy it.

The staff was really friendly and efficient. Everything was supper clean. The breakfast buffet was amazing. Only complaint would be that the heating pipes make a lot of noise at 7am and that was annoying.

As all the paradores is unique it is my fourth time staying the rooms I have had are all different. Breakfast and meals very good. The staff were friendly and helpful.

A Parador in the very center of Santiago. Very nice and with an interesting story. It has a tour inside the building to get to know its different rooms and its history.

A very very nice and elegant place to stay. Good location, historic place, an experience. Of course its expensive but worth it. Nice furnitures, a gorgeous breakfast you will never forget. Complicated to reach there by a car.

I like Paradores-the Lago is not to be surpassed, the room rather convent cells similarly Spartan great breakfast-valet service for the car will be happy to come back.

Staying here was one of the few items on my bucket list. I was worried it would not live up to expectations but I was really impressed by the room and the interior of the building was wonderful. The breakfast buffet was awesome with only one downside being the black tea which had flavoured with a hint of cloves.

Unique service magnificent building excellent hospitality. Expensive.

Old, exceptional hospice, open, very well preserved, whose full visit requires two good hours.
The rooms "superior" shine with their authentic decor combined with the impeccable furnishing of a bathroom in which there is nothing missing.
The suites must be fairy, given their price and their location in the hotel.
The service, although very satisfying, is however not up to the height of this palace, except the restaurant (the "monumental") where everything is implemented to satisfy you.
Moreover, when you leave the hotel, you are directly on the forecourt of the cathedral and you would like to have the gift of ubiquity to watch your exit and you envy to stay in El Paradores!

Parador with very large rooms and an exceptional place. If it fits into your budget, don't hesitate.

The hotel is a museum! The ambiance is stunning. All furniture is antique. The comfort is limited by what I take loosely. "Rice Catolicos", a truly royal stay.

Parador ideally well located and on the square of the Obradoiro a few steps from the cathedral.

Classy, clean, comfortable! Everything I was hoping for! The bathroom was perfect with a great size tub for soaking. The price is steep but it has the best location possible!

Also not being able to afford to stay (the top x Santiago) deserves a visit a wonderful chapel transformed into the dining room.

Amazing location! Some people complained that the hotel was a little dated. Well, we found our bathroom was very modern and the room was in keeping with the period building. Everything seemed well maintained. The breakfast was amazing. Parking is available, but a little expensive. Loved our stay. Hope to be back.

Wonderful hotel in a magnificent setting. I have already met most of the hotels in the Parador community. This is for me the most impressive. Every single room is different and so beautiful. The restaurant is also very good. Really excellent. The service is Parador standard. Upscale 5 stars. And you still help to get all those old buildings. The overall concept is simply Spain's great and worthy.

Right on the Cathedral Square, it's a magical place where you breathe history! Perfect for celebrating the end of the Camino in Santiago.

Spectacular, one of the best monuments of Spain, and in a framework, such as the of the plaza del Obradoiro, which is wonderful.
As hotel, luxury accommodation services available, and the staff was very good. Already ten years ago, I must say it.

Who you has changed the name to the hotel? I find it on the internet with Kings or Reis Católicos.

We visited Santiago de Compostela during a holiday in Galicia. Stay at Hostal dos Reis Catolicos has been outstanding. The Hotel has rooms minimal but essential, clean and smelling is a large convent adapted to large property, but despite the large number of visitors is all calm and composed, mystical atmosphere. Walking and refreshment in the corridors around the cloister are truly relaxing. The staff is meticulous. The Hostal is next to the Cathedral and the town centre.

Incomparable in the city.

We stopped here for drinks and snacks after visiting the Cathedral. We were served in an inner courtyard with tables in the shade. It was a welcome respite on a hot and sunny day.

Our expectations were high since we’d read our guidebooks (but not the reviews here) beforehand: “the palatial parador is Santiago’s top hotel” (Lonely Planet), “one of the most renowned paradors in Spain” (1000 Places to See), “one of the world’s most luxurious” (Hunter Travel), “one of the world’s grandest hotels” (Eyewitness Guide), “magnificent (…) one of the world’s most famous (…) irresistibly luxurious rooms (…) worth every penny” (Rough Guide). After our disappointing stay at the monumental parador in León, however, we had learned not to believe everything we read. Even though our first glimpse wasn’t after a long pilgrimage but just after a short uphill taxi ride from the train station, we were still overwhelmed at one of the world’s grandest squares framed by the Cathedral, a palace, a college, and our five-star home-away-from-home. Santiago (what a fitting name! ), Susana, and Rosa at reception provided five-star service from the very start; knowledgeable staff members like José and Dolores provided us with glimpses of the range of rooms and invaluable historical tidbits about the extraordinary building: We saw standard double rooms with limited light but with wonderful historic atmosphere to the grand Cardinal’s suite with its two canopied beds and bay window view of red roofs, churches, and gardens extending all the way to the surrounding mountains.

Today I have taken the tasting menu Assisi advised by eight chefs with a Michelin, disappointing, how can destroy these creations? Served with neglect, without any rhythm, without proper temperature, with a mediocre wine. I was in PepeVieira a few days ago, and two of his dishes have included them in the Assisi, have turned them into dishes without grace. Nothing to do. The apathetic service. Pity that such location, they break the illusions of a pleasant evening. I have heard to disagree to a waiter with a client if the sand of the scallops was salt. Rather than make excuses, Déplorable.

Excellent service, attentive and friendly staff, well appointed rooms and the best 'served in your room' breakfast I have ever had.

In the informal offer of gastronomy of the Parador, called Enxebre, agility, customer service, offers classical and avant-garde. Great food in all rule unfortunately I enjoyed only. I opted for gourmet snacks, a selection of tapas that change weekly and are modern quel rest of the letter. Product, understandable creativity, full flavors, accomplished cooking points, good presentations. When I had dinner the place was full and went up several times tables, which demonstrates the success of the formula and the best, one more than reasonable price.

Mother that well we have breakfast at parador as pilgrims! It was undoubtedly an unforgettable journey, made us a great time and so emblematic area you wore to an exceptional setting. The rooms. Leave meaningless! a place to and return. It does not disappoint anyone at all.
