Hotel Akerreta

Absolutely wonderful stay in this superb Hotel. Joseph was such an excellent host and the building itself is fantastic the character and charm is around every corner. We stayed here whilst walking the Camino de Santiago and we were so very glad we did.

This was an amazing hotel with wonderful architecture. The host was really welcoming, charming and personable. He made us feel like we were guests at his home. The food at dinner was also delicious. Our room was spacious and comfortable with a beautiful outlook on the valley.

Absolutely beautiful historical house converted into a renovated hotel. Impeccably clean, such beautiful beams, thick stone walls and divine views. This is my favourite so far on the Camino. Service is warm and helpful and the dinner is delicious at 27E pp including wine. A beautiful bathroom with a very good hot shower. So many sitting areas and a lovely outside area. Highly recommended!

I stayed here one night while walking “The Way of St. James” Camino. The owner/manager (Joseph) made us feel very welcome and was extremely helpful as well when I personally needed some assistance with my Spanish travel company. The dinner and breakfast served there was excellent, the scenery beautiful (Basque Country), and the room/common areas were clean and inviting. While we were very comfortable when we were there, the only possible drawback would be no air-conditioning if it was really hot; however, there was a constant breeze. There is no elevator but Joseph will bring your bags to your room if you need assistance. Overall, a wonderful experience!

We arrived at this beautiful, charming old hotel, after a long walk on the Camino Frances. Gorgeous bedroom on the third floor, immaculately decorated, clean and very luxurious and comfortable.
Jose, the host and owner was very warm and welcoming.
We had a delicious, home cooked dinner with a bottle of lovely red wine.

10 out of 10! This hotel is worth staying at for a unique experience. Jose and Mari were gracious and generous hosts. Superior service, mouth watering food and comfortable and cozy accomodations. Highly recommend saying here, Buen Camino 💙💙💙

After a hard day's walk on the Camino Frances we arrived at the Hotel Akerreta. A 13th century house tastefully renovated to a small hotel.
Everything about the hotel is fabulous. Definitely the best hotel we stayed in on our Camino walk. Our host, Joseph, is friendly and professional. We had beautiful bedrooms with fabulous views, comfortable beds and plenty of hot water to heal our weary bones.
There are comfortable sitting rooms to relax in and the dinner and breakfast were very good. Joseph explained to us that all the food and wine came from the local area. And it was excellent.
If you want a little bit of heaven on this stage of the Camino you should book the Akerreta hotel.

Arrived at this charming hotel to be greeted by the owner. We were quickly checked in and chose our dinner for later. Shown to our large bedroom with en-suite bath which was a joy. Loads of space to put everything and a beautiful view. We met some other pilgrims in the sitting room and enjoyed a beer before dinner. A gorgeous home cooked dinner, just what was needed, & included a bottle of red wine. Very comfortable night and the perfect breakfast to set us on our way.

Having walked 24km on the Camino Frances that day, it as such a relief to stay at this wonderful hotel. The building is amazing. The host Joseph wonderful and the food fantastic. Can’t believe it’s a 2 star hotel. The best hotel on my organised itinerary. Not to be missed if your walking the way.

Beautiful hotel with friendly hosts and excellent service. Well maintained and very comfortable.
Highly recommended to pilgrims or anyone travelling to this area. An extra 6km walk from Zubiri if you’re a pilgrim, but worth the effort.
Dinner was local food and exquisite. Local wine rounded out the meal.

Beautiful hotel in a picturesque setting with very gracious host! The rooms are spacious, clean, and comfortable, and the meals were excellent. The hotel has a beautitul courtyard where you can visit and have a glass of wine. Overall, a wonderful respite on our Camino walk!

Hotel Akerreta is housed in an old and beautifly restored building in the namesake village on the Camino de Santiago de Compostela. The room we were given was large, comfortable and acceptably clean. The dinner and breakfast were good and well prepared, however nothing exceptional when compared to their price. Service was ok even if checking in was delayed since nobody was at the reception desk when we arrived.

This place is amazing! The service from Joseph was outstanding. The food is incredible. Every aspect of the Hotel Akerreta is top notch. Even staying in Martin Sheen’s room 😊
Not open for passing trade, this establishment only caters for patrons who have booked a room and once you do, I guarantee, you will not be disappointed.

The hotel is on the Camino, so the dining room is full of people just starting a huge challenge. We were cycling and our route just happened to be intersecting with the camino. We enjoyed the chance to talk to people from all over the world.
The view from our room was spectacular. The room was huge, bed was comfortable, dinner was absolutely delicious and Jose-Mari, as mentioned in many travellers' reviews, is entertaining and informative. A GREAT Basque experience.

The hotel is in a beautiful setting. Surrounded by gorgeous views of green mountains, agricultural land, etc. The place was beautiful with great elegant decoration and the view from the windows looking at the gorgeous landscape. The man in charge was as friendly and helpful as one can be. The food was delicious.

What a great place. Clean, spacious and well appointed. Joseph was kind and very hospitable. A great stop on the Camino and a nice easier walk to Pamplona on our day 3. Dinner was good and breakfast also was just what we needed. Thank you. Would very happily stay here again.

The hotel is in a beautifully restored old building. It was a delight to walk around and look at the preserved details mixed with modern comfort. The views out the window were spectacular. Dinner and breakfast were also tasty and nicely presented. I would love to return to this area and stay for several days, hiking in the surrounding countryside.
