Best hostel I have stayed at. The hostel is clean, has great facilities and an excellent bar. Not to mention the evening activities and party bus to the clubs. The staff are all incredibly friendly and helpful. Thank you!

Beautiful hostel but unfortunately would have a lot of bad luck with a roommate, but could change the room on demand. The beds were clean, everyone had a power outlet and a small light only the shower would have some mold, so you should take a closer look at the showers beforehand. I would also not recommend breakfast (4€ extra cost, you pay directly at breakfast), as the drinks were very sweet and did not fit at all for breakfast, but you can choose breads for lunch and so you can. Save a lunch, you can try breakfast and decide for yourself. Also friendly and courteous staff.

Unless your budget doesn't allow you to stay away from this place I wouldn't consider it. The members of the staff WILL come into your room whenever they please without knocking, explaining or apologizing for doing so. Very very far from a Hostel vibe. Dusty and carpeted floors (high risk of bedbugs) and fungus all over the ceilings and bathroom areas. Good location, relatively quiet.

Very nice and clean hostel. Rooms, however, are too narrow. Plenty of breakfast at 4 euros but not very good. Unprofessional staff entered while guests slept to fix air conditioners and vacuum floors by slamming doors. Crazy terrace with great sangria.

Absolutely lacklustre hostel. The air conditioning didn't work, we had no running water for 2 days, the toilet didn't flush, the beds were about as comfortable as the pavement (which we considered as a better option to sleep on) and the cleaners came into our room at 9 am without knocking, vacuuming away. The only reason this hole gets a star is the bar, where you can get drunk enough to possibly get to sleep in the concrete sauna you overpaid for.

OK the price is right!
This hostel is in a great location, close (3 minutes of walking) to the Clot metro station from which two lines pass, L1 and L2, at 15 — 20 respectively are the modernist enclosure of Sant Pau, a place not to be missed, and the Sagrada Familia that do not n needs presentations. The rooms are minimal to say the least, in addition to the beds and lockers, each one opens with its own magnetic key, there is nothing else, not a support plane, nothing (I have seen more than one). Breakfast that you can buy directly in the hostel for 4 euros, offers a lot in terms of quantity, less quality, cereals and biscuits a little ugly, every other day empty horns or pastas with yellow or chocolate cream, white bread to toast, jams and cream spreadable to the flavor of cocoa and hazelnuts, eggs, sausage sausages and a cheese and little fruit, fresh milk, poor quality juices, hot chocolate and machine coffee (ugly). The hostel is clean and tidy, the locker service convenient and not expensive, like the laundromat. The price does not include towels, but only the sheets. Overall a satisfactory solution to stay Barcelona, unpretentious and in a great position.

Felt safe in the area, and the place was very clean. Most doors required card access. The bar had reasonable prices for food and drinks. If that didn't tickle your fancy, there's a cheap Kababs place a block away.

The staff was unpleasant and unhelpful. First, they denied me access to the rooms we reserved, despite providing them the reservation number, the name of the friend who did the reservation for us, with the confirmation they got the payment info. I needed to be with her, while we all arrived from different location (Paris, Lyon, Berlin) with different arrival time. So even though they got everything, they denied me access. My friend got her flight delayed by 3 hours (! ) and I could not access my room in the meantime, even though they confirmed me they will charge her for the reservation… So it was payed!
In addition, while we requested at the reservation by phone directly to them to get close rooms to each others and they confirmed it, we had the bad surprise to realise we were separated in 2 different floors. Their system allows you to only access common area and your own floor, making it impossible to us to visit each other.
The rooms were very very small, they did not provided a bathmat in their very slippery bathroom, the breakfast was simply disgusting.
This was one of the worst experience I ever had in an hostel, while I'm used to stay in such places. It was a shame and I would highly suggest you to give your money to better place!

Room too small, side hygiene it's not top. I do not recommend it.

Clean hostel, with comfortable beds. Each bed has its own reading light and charging station — very useful! Food in cafe is terrible — don't bother. And even though a laundry is advertised, it was on a floor our keycards wouldn't let us access.

My main issue is the cleanliness. It definitely felt like the rooms could use some more cleaning and the mattresses were stained. That being said, it was pretty inexpensive. If you are on a tight budget, this place could work for you.

The rooms are nice and decent little ones, but they have various problems ranging from current outlets not functioning to showers that are triggered by magic. The food completely sucks, the water is of the faucet, the juice tastes disgusting, and most of the things to eat available at lunch and dinner suck.

Staff very friendly and efficient!

The hostel was dirty and unhygienic, the bathroom was cramped, the shower was impractical and leaky, so the whole bathroom was regularly under water. Against the warmth in the room you could not do anything that would have effected. Not even open the window. The food was poor and too little, so you had to wait a long time before you got something to eat. The bar, supposedly open at 18:00, opened mostly at 21:00, which is why the "Payment alternatives" (Pizza, burgers, fries) to the tastefully unacceptable buffet food (cold, sweet scrambled eggs; Disgusting sausages; 5-cent Salami; Dry toast) could only be ordered much later than the actual meal.
The roof terrace as well as the supposedly existing pool were not accessible and the restaurant terrace was, despite smoking ban, flooded with smoking staff.
The only thing that could make a normal-minded person get a dime here is the location in the middle of the city. The Torre Agbar, the Sagrada Familia and the mall are within walking distance.

Amazing friendly staff that will help you with anything at all hours. They're not afraid to join you for a drink either and just chat (or sing) with you. The rooms are great, cozy and comfortable; with a good locker system and lovely showers. The bar and terrace is spacious and comfy with events on every night of the week. Good location with restaurants and supermarkets nearby and a 2 min walk to the train station with trains to the center of Barcelona every 5 mins.

Pretty great. Rooms are small but comfortable. Wi-Fi a bit iffy but for the price you get more than you expect. Would happily stay again.

I'm putting 0. We spent 4days the worst: room infested with bed fleas and probably scabies! We changed rooms and the same: carpet infested. Result my daughter and I filled with pimples and put on antibiotic. Likewise the pharmacist 50 e treatment and as a gift a cleaning protocol to not bring his cgez us! We were disgusted! Another problem we Apaye 4jde breakfast and the first day a waitress takes the paper. The other three days PBS humiliates us when we use limit as thieves by asking us in front of everyone our jutificatifs! I went to the doctor in France: Overinfection with flea bites I cried…

Came back after not knowing what had happened to me with blood and mud on my face and whoever El is, she is the nicest person ever! Never got to thank her in the morning! But the whole staff was really nice, great price, great rooms with English plug sockets, really can't complain apart from wanting to have beer on the 3rd floor!

For young people generally foreigners, very good treatment, keep in mind that in the rooms. There is no TV and the beds are bunks. Perfect, clean and economical Wifi.

We stayed there one week, if you book the hostel on their own side with a credit card, they will charge you on arrival, expect some tax to be added (that was an unpleasant surprise ans should be changed by the management). The beds are clean and the bathrooms are cleaned every day. The key card that lets you open the main door, use the elevator, open your door and open your locker is a save and easy method. The terrace is nice, but be aware that it closes at 11pm. The breakfast is not great, but for 4, — € all you can eat it is a good price. The staff is friendly and willing to help if there's a problem. Compared to other places it is quite far from the centre, but still alright. We usually walked to the centre and went back by train or night bus. It is really easy to reach by any public transportation.

Permanent administrator. A lot of services are provided. Everything is clear, even in the absence of knowledge of languages. It is possible to live older people who lead an active lifestyle. The only negative — the hostel is in a residential area, there are few interesting places for evening walks, and the center is far away.

I stayed in a 8-people room, consisting of four bunk beds. The bed was pretty comfortable and the room was spacious enough for a hostel. They do provide washed bed linens, but the duvet I got was needing some cleaning. There's a locker for every bed that's big enough to fit in a travel backpack if it's not too bloated. The biggest downside was the bathroom: two shower stalls, one toilet stall, but all of them in the same room, which was rather small and created some uncomfortable situations. The 4 euro breakfast isn't really worth 4 euros unless you eat A LOT. It's just a basic buffet, and you can eat better in other places, including touristic ones. They do provide a kitchen if you want to cook. It's very close to the Clot metro station, which links you to most places in the city. For the price, it's a steal.

The place was good, the guests were left to wish with the care of the shared facilities and respect for the things of others.

A great hostel for organization and cleanliness. The location is perfect in a neighborhood that takes in these years new life but that is not subservied by mass tourism.
Youthful guests and insiders, however, is also perfect for anyone who needs a bed and a shower for a few hours More days. Good breakfast choice anyway very cheap in the price.
From its terrace, a shared space where you can also eat Meals, on the eleventh floor the view is magnificent (from photo).

Really excellent place, super cool building, pretty great service. The rooms, even the cheapest of the cheap, are very nice. The terrace had a great view! Only complaint would be that the kitchen lacks an oven.

It is very well located, with quite a few Metro or train stations nearby, and it is 15 min walk from the Sagrada familia. The service is good and the staff is very nice and friendly. The rooms are good for young people.

We went to Barcelona to spend the weekend, we just needed a place to sleep. There was no problem with any noise, and thanks to the access system only to your plant, it seemed very safe. We got bail back despite leaving the room an hour late. The receptionist was friendly.

I've never seen anything so dirty and smelly before. It's impossible to sleep. The smell of dead rats spider your nostrils to make them bleed. I asked for the claims sheets and they refused. I had No complaints time so here I leave my comment.

Bad lighting, but with that I can pass what does not pass is that they are politicizing the hotel because they have signs Prosecesionistas not recommend it under any concept I have been in gambling better.

Very nice staff, has kitchen, breakfast area and there is always something organized in the evening. Well connected to the centre of Barcelona and very close to the Sagrada Familia.

You rooms are far too small, the bathroom can not be closed, the shower goes out (motion detector), water also goes out automatically, Windows do not open, windows are not clean, beds are hard and well located, the duvet has no suitable upholstery, So you only have to sleep with the upholstery. (is just a single cloth)
The food is so rather well. The selection is low and somehow the food tastes like chemistry. The water could also be taken from the pool.

Close to metro and Barcelona city centre. Amazing hospitality and great comfort. 24 hours front desk service.

Worst experience. No clear instructions. Limited access to kitchen and floors. Tightly packed bed structure, no space in room. Bed are not in good state. Washroom isn't having floor mat. Shower is just nominal. Wash basin was chocked up. Takes deposit of 50 Euros which is extra than booking amount and isn't mentioned anywhere. Also don't share a room with someone if you don't know them specifically when they don't want to be disturbed otherwise you will surely feel like hospital ICU where patients shouldn't be disturbed. One good thing, Transportation and connectivity is all nearby.

Took 32 kids on a school trip here. It is perfect for school groups. Accommodation is basic, but spotless. Breakfast is good. It is a perfect base for exploring Barca cheaply.

Beware! this was the worst travel experience of my life. Do yourself a favor and stay anywhere else. The low price isn't worth it. Lockers in the rooms would often stop working. We had a laptop and wallet stolen from an otherwise empty dining area while sitting on the table right next to us. The day before there was an attempted robbery on two random girls in the kitchen cooking area. Another guy "lost" his wallet in the common area. Staff were awkward and dismissive about everything. Management was non-existent for days after. Cameras are there for a false sense of security and not for your protection. When needed, the camera footage suddenly doesn't exist during the time of the incident. The people who work here are either involved or simply can't be bothered. There are lots of other inexpensive options in town and most have actual security guards. This place is not safe at all, so if you choose to stay here, please be careful!

Dirty and small, there are a thousand times better hostels.
The only point in favor is the drunk people in the elevator.

Cheap place to spend the night in the center. They charge €2 for the shower towels. They have ticket service at no cost, it's a nice touch. Breakfast is €4 buffet type and you have a bit of everything to choose from, nor do you expect the best qualities. Normal cleaning.
A lot of fuss over the amount of young tourists that are drunk around the area. The air conditioner was set up all night and we woke up ice cream. On some mattresses you stick the springs in your back.

I hated the hostel because olly had suspect stains on his sheets when we arrived, My friend was almost molested by a Greek man living in Manchester, When I was told there would be Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner, I expected food not the kind of things that come out of a cyst. Furthermore I was kept up relentlessly by all the drunk pedophiles you seem to welcome. This doesn't even scratch the surface of ow horrendous it was. The vegetarians were given leftover smoked courgette in a sandwich for their lunch and we waited two days for our window to be open. By this time two of the boys in the room had succumb to the awful plight of body odor. All in all I would stay the again.

Will not return to Barcelona if it is not hosting me at Barcelona Urbany Hostel!

Great place to stay, staff are really friendly. Central location. Only issue is rooms can get hot and air conditioning isn't great!

Location well, window can not be opened. You must be very long at the "Buffet" breakfast.

Great location with nearby metro and tourist attractions. Had a nice walk from the hostel to the bullet tower (1min) which you get a view of from the rooms and some markets across the road, onwards through a strip of parks to the Arc de Triomf (20mins) and beautiful Parc de la Ciutadella! Hostel was very clean and modern, Wi-Fi worked flawlessly (video chatted). It's cheapest hostel I've ever stayed in yet on par with the very best. Would not hesitate to recommend. Staff were very helpful in planning my day trip after my single night stay. Beer was cheap, didn't try the food.

At the reception they are nice but I was stealing my stuff in my room. And nothing no compensation after 3 weeks at the hotel.

Advertised as a party hostel, but the bar has more of a cafeteria vibe (massive, sterile, empty) and it's an hour+ walk from las ramblas (public transit quits at midnight).

You have to get out of the building, there are other travelers, which is expensive, is really bad (I tried it) and has nothing to do with the hostel. After the first night I found a hostel is different, that really has a gym and a swimming pool. I just asked him gently to leave my stay before payment and shipping the next day. I did not asked you to recover the money for the first night. I did not asked you not to pay the next night because the box was finished. I just wanted the money for the nights that I would not use because I would stay in a hostel is different from a real gym and swimming pool. I only said, that it is its policy not to refund the money they already have. For them it was irrelevant that I Just booked the hostel because of incorrect information in your web page. This is the 5th time I'm in Barcelona, the worst hotel ever (and the only one, besides, it's the first time this has happened)!
No light in the room (Yes, you read right! )
It came all the days requested a repair, every day they answered. This afternoon it will be repaired, two days after they gave us an electric torch. And. A shooter available at the bar for two!
The worst is the last day. Asked to see a manager or a Manager to explain.
They make us wait an hour and a half in the refectory.
Eventually a Cook comes to us asking us the reason for our presence, explain, and he replies that they'll never call the manager and expected to white.
"No one is coming, you should leave"
We went to, they have confessed but have refused to give us the number of a person in charge or reimburse us, we love, we had a bus to catch we went.
Otherwise outside this management problem.
The room was very dirty, hair in the bed (so not cleaned).
Stickers on windows and handle broken cannot open the window except with a screwdriver.
I am very disappointed, they kinda ruined my vacation, yet I always met great people in Barcelona, that will teach me to go in a hotel "chain".
Go somewhere else, there are really better, more close to the Center, closest to the beaches and especially more welcoming, clean and Nice all for the same price!

This is my very first review, and I´ve been traveling for twenty years. I try to be the optimist but there´s so much negative. Here´s the strong point first. It´s clean. Here´s the negative. 1. Lots of high school students all the time (not a typical hostel situation) 2. No real atmosphere, other than sticky floors everywhere at the end of the night from underage drinking (omit rule 1) 3. A shuttle with a stated dress code to a ´free club admission´ such that if the club doesn´t like the dress code stated by the hotel, you are out of luck and on the other end of town. 4. Paper thin walls to better carry the noise of the high school kids. 5. Staff that looks for an excuse rather than trying to probleme solve 6. Part of town that requires a cab any time after the clubs get started, negating the cheapness.

It's good service, free internet, it's cheap there, nice rooms, but the food they serve there is not excactly of the best kind. :-/.

Urbany hostel was fantastic, the staff and facilities were amazing and highly reccomend to any potential travellers to Barcelona! The hostel is the only one with a gym, pool, spa, sauna, which in Spain is very handy given the high cost of fitness facilities. The staff were helpful and lovely to interact with, I will be back in Barcelona and back at Urbany.

Aside from my room being suffocatingly warm, I absolutely adored this place! I came here as part of a university fieldtrip and was a little apprehensive about the quality of the place but it was honestly one of the best places I've stayed in. It was cheap, clean and the staff were extremely friendly and patient. The common room on floor three has given me some amazing memories! I would definitely recommend.

Very good quality for its price. Almost feels like a hotel. Very friendly staff and many accommodations. I also liked how it's right next to the Clot metro station. Complimentary breakfast not much but better than nothing.

Barcelona Urbany hostel is perfect for young people who want to experience the International charm of Barcelona. Even if you're only nice for an evening together, we find friends from all Nations. The rooms are relatively zwekcmäßig, but that got quickly into the background, because it's all very clean and modern. The views over Barcelona's beautiful and the evenings on the roof terrace never forgotten! The breakfast is OK and the drinks are very cheap! The staff is very friendly! The hostel is close to the Metro station and all sights are easy to reach. I can really only recommend this hostel.
