Wonderful hotel, with class and style and unparalleled service and attention. A great success that you do not allow dogs, I congratulate you for that. Today, the pressure of people equating to animals becomes unbearable.

We went for a snack at this hotel. And we got a disappointment … To accompany the soft drinks we were served a bowl with some stale fries that we had to order more drinks to remove the unpleasant taste of the mouth. An intolerable awkwardness in a 5* Grand Luxury hotel where you get charged money for a Coke.

Having stayed more than once in this hotel, I am quite disappointed with the renovation. The bathrooms are very good but for the rest it is mediocre.

Air conditioning did not work. Poor service at breakfast. Very noisy on driveway side. Good position with nice views. Bed comfortable.

Very charming Hotel. We have celebrated our wedding anniversary in the best way. My husband and I have been very pleased with the hotel services as well as their staff.

I am a dog, that for 5 years every summer I spend a few days in the hotel, enjoying with my masters.
This year 2018, after having made the reservation, we had to cancel it, as with the renovation, the hotel management did not allow me the entrance.
We feel a great sorrow, we have dusfrutado much of the place and I have been able to behave at all times to its height.
I hope one day things will change and I can come back!

A very spacious Hotel with large rooms just like the bathrooms. The staff were very friendly and retaurante. For my era of entry to the exit with a satificacion to 100%. And you have to see and visit the sites of the city, enjoy everything at full.

Historical place, very well preserved and with great charm. Excellent service and quality in the care.

We have done several events with gastronomic bloggers and we all went great. Highly recommended, perhaps they should add in the menu more options for celiac, lactose intolerant… but very good cuisine, attention, service and facilities.

The service makes you feel like a king, the building is very original and the rooms have an old touch but are giant. Very good hotel to go if you can afford it.

Hotel is a 5-star hotel. In the golden days, it housed counts and royalties. Nice quiet place. Has a variety of massages. In our whole north Spain trip, this hotel has the best breakfast and service.

Stayed at this hotel on several occasions and love the old style Spanish grandeur. Has a spectacular terrace with magnificent views of the bay and towards the Magdalena Palace. The perfect spot for enjoying a gin and tonic.

Cobwebs and dust in a room of €200 a night. Wooden floors that squeak in every step as in the horror movies. Not a single plug to charge your mobile or laptop.
Over there was a wedding in the local that lasted until after midnight, music included.
You hear any noise from the neighbors.
I'm sure when it was Marichalar they had the cleanest room.
I forgot, a detail the water bottle of time to share a drink each with my lady.

Nice rooms, very nice bathrooms with strong water pressure in the showers. Old fashioned, wish the gym was bigger.

Wonderful Hotel! Personnel is extremely amiable and the service is beyond reproach. The NYE party was excellent. That's the only hotel I'll be going to next time I'm in Santander.

Overall, this hotel provides everything you would expect from a 5 star hotel: a luxurious room, a wide range of dining options and a sumptuous view over the local beaches and sea. The staff are extremely friendly, and are happy to cater to your every need. Unfortunately the location of the hotel means it is approximately a 30 minute walk to the city centre, as well as a 10 minute walk to the closest beach. Moreover, the hotel is on a steep hill so walking to and from the more touristic areas can be a challenge for those who are less able-bodied. On the other hand to local bus service can take you from the hotel to the city centre for €1.30, so overall transport was not an issue during our stay.

5 stars from the past… may not have modern luxuries, but it has elegance and luxury of life to give and take. Beautiful views over the Bay and the Palacio de la Magdalena.

A hotel that takes you back to the classic hotel of 5 stars of yesteryear. Amazing views and comfortable rooms. The treatment and all the staff are exquisite.

It was built to accommodate the Entourage of King Alfonso XIII during his summer stays in the city. Excellent.

It is a great hotel, free parking, good price on rooms, overlooking the sea in any room, is not downtown… but it is close to the beaches. If you don't want to have dinner in the hotel 15 minutes walk there are some pretty good restaurants.

An elegant hotel in a quiet location! Beautiful Art Nouveau building with a beautiful large outdoor terrace. Very nice rooms some with sea view! Restaurant very good quality of food and drinks. Spa equipment & outdoor pool. Good air conditioning. Nice staff.

Charming hotel, witness of the history of Spain. So if you are going to celebrate a wedding, as if you stay or take a coffee in one of its rooms, this hotel does not disappoint. Friendly staff and good food. The views of the Bay from the suit are precious.

A taste of bygone days. I'm on my second day arriving by car from France. Absolutely no problems up to now It's a Friday teatime and we sail back to Portsmouth on Monday afternoon so looking forward to the rest of the holiday. We ate in restaurant last evening and food and service was good.

To be a 5* GL I expected a lot more, many 3 and 4 * that I have been are much better. You need a face wash intense. That said, the views are spectacular.

The best I know. It is worth.
