We absolutely LOVED Masia Katmandu, it is both homely and beautiful. Remote enough to feel peaceful but still a short drive to several great towns. Excellent facilities, but best of all Gina is a fantastic host. We were sad to leave but are now excited to go back as soon as possible! Cannot recommend staying here enough!
What an amazing place to stay. I will admit I felt a little apprehensive at first finding out it was off grid. My worries couldn't have been farther from the truth, yes its off grid, a totally self sufficient retreat, but what a fantastic place this is. The retreat is easily accessible from the main road and only 5/10 minutes drive to the surrounding towns. The location is perfect. To access Masia Katmandu you drive down a long track from the main road, this created such a build up of what you're going to find. We weren't disappointed. Turning that last corner and seeing the house was brilliant. We were welcomed like old friends. Inside its homely with log fires, under floor heating, large comfortable bedrooms all with en suite. The yoga rooms were fantastic with the most amazing views, though, we didn't actually do any yoga… maybe next time! Every room was tastefully decorated with a Moroccan feel. And Gina, well what can I say, it really was like staying with family. Nothing seemed too much trouble. In fact we were so comfortable staying here we were actually sad to leave. We will definitely stay here if we visit Cretas again. Masia Katmandu is an off grid retreat but even though there were 5 of us staying a week (and believe me, my teens like to charge their phones! ) we never had any problems with power or hot water, if I hadn't known any different, I wouldn't have known.
