Fabulous setting, food is amazing. We also stayed overnight and the breakfast the following more was perfect. Selection of home made breads and marmalades/jams. The apartments were lovely and warm and cosy.

Beautiful food and great personal service…will definitely be back.

The service was excellent and the food exquisite.

The meal was excellent and the atmosphere very relaxed very good value for money.

This must be one of the best restaurants in this area!,, I actually got the time wrong but Mary made sure we had drinks and lovely food to keep us going.
Our friends ordered from the Vegan menu. This food was exceptional.
We had the normal menu. The beef was divine! Thank you for making our visit memorable Mary.

Beautiful location with wonderful hosts. The accommodation is clean and the rooms are decorated with individual style. The food is beautifully presented and very tasty. All in all a great experience!

Lordy, I think there were 4 rooms when we first went here. Pool is the same. Will try to get back to see if the food is also the same.

The scenery and surroundings are stunning, the menu enticing and varied, with plenty for meat eaters and vegetarians, the food was delicious, the wine was decent and the ambience was great. Highly recommended.

We have never felt so unwelcome and discriminated like we did here. We left with a disgusted feeling because of a complete lack of hospitality. When there is a problem, as a host the only thing you do is solve it. But in our case there was no solution but to scream: “YOU HAVE TO RESPECT THE LAW” In this case, the law regarded not allowing a 6 month old puppy who was already sleepy when coming in and who had been out for dinner with us for the last 4 months of his life. We requested a table outside (plenty of space to move a table from the inside to the outside) but instead we were pointed to the door. There was only one other table having dinner, we had a reservation, we were on time, we were nicely dressed, we … There was no reason why this woman was dealing with this situation so badly. There is plenty of lovely places around Vélez Rubio. Please go and visit the real Spanish restaurants and experience what Spanish hospitality is about. This woman is just a horrible host and couldn’t have handled this in a worse way.

Casa Joya is a wonderful secret. Tucked away from the main stream, the ambience and food are an absolute joy. James and Mary are at the top of their game. Well worth seeking out.

Very good all, and very professional all ten the only thing that is josto but very good is the bread. It's homemade and they make a boyo for everyone and there's no more.

Excellent, peaceful location for a lovely sunday lunch in charming & quirky surroundings! Food is good, service is friendly, the two owners do not hesitate to socialize with their guests and there is a well stocked bar. Prices are reasonable and the destination is worth the surprising journey through a countryside dust track! You can even spend the night in one of their rooms. A little hidden gem if you are after peace and quiet. Be aware, no or limited mobile phone network and probably no internet access!

Rural location very tranquil, scrumptious food cooked to perfection. The rooms are spacious with lounge area and views of the valley and mountains. A real place to get away from it all. Highly recommended for the discerning travellers who appreciate good food and character locations.

Amazing place, well worth the journey!

Well, what a gem! Worth the journey and some, unbelievable scenery and the most exquisite food, I have eaten in some amazing restaurants and this is at the top of my list. Lovely hosts, superb house red wine.

Fantastic food, nice and friendly service persons, under rough conditions you need a 4WD to reach them.

Lunch on Wednesday was, every course, delicious. Lovely flavours in everything. And a giant Gamba topped the main.

Love this restaurant, food is awesome as is the service from Mary, lucky enough to be going today for lunch, can't wait. If your anywhere near make a reservation (essential) you won't be sorry x oh and where it is situated is also unbelievable, beautiful place xxxx.

Lovely place to eat at. Eclectic decour.

I have been living in Spain for 18 months and am always on the search for excellent food and found it at Casa Joya. Came recommended and have now visited 5 times since November 2012. We have been for lunch, dinner and stayed overnight and always look forward to the next time. In fact 11 of us are booked in for lunch at 2.30 today. The food is amazing, the prices are correct and the restaurant is beautiful. It takes us 45 mins to get there but we dont even think about the journey as its so worth it.

What an incredible find in the beautiful Spanish countryside where the driveway down from the road is exciting in itself. Then you reach the lovely farmhouse in such a great setting. The hospitality and food were simply outstanding and I really felt we were getting exclusive attention at affordable prices. Well worth the travelling to this unique restaurant! Make sure you book.
