It would be a quirky hidden gem but cleanliness ruins the whole experience This place has many pros and just a couple of cons, so depending on your priorities when travelling it might be the perfect hotel or a place to avoid. Note: there is no breakfast service here, just rooms. The pros are many. (really) Supernice hosts, wonderful location (close to the main train/bus station and 20 min away by bus from the fortress), plenty of ammenities, good Wi-Fi, even a computer to use at your room and very reasonable price. The cons are two, one that we don't really care much about it, the other is key for us. It looks and feels old and shabby and you can see that time has passed here without much care. Also, it allows smoking so the corridors are a bit smelly. But all of this is not that important, the really single problem this hotel has is that rooms are not clean. It's not dust, it's dirt. It's not one-day dirt, it's one-week dirt. Clearly, cleanliness is not a priority for this hotel, hence the low price? So, if you are the type of person that values cleanliness very much when evaluating hotels, stay away from this place. If you can cope with that and have thick skin, then this hotel is probably perfect. I would strongly suggest the owners to put much more care into cleanliness, it would automatically make Charmant hotel a great place to stay while in Suwon.
