Friendly service, great accommodation and great food.

A lovely quaint place with beautiful thatched roofed individual cottages. I’m sure we’ll have a lovely couple of nights here.

A magnificent gem hidden away in the forest surrounded by picturesque gardens. Thatched roof cottages are dotted around the main dining and lounge buildings. Functional antique furniture can be found in the cottages as well as the main building creating a bespoke living area. The best part of staying here beside the gardens, swimming pool and idyllic kids play area is the delicious food, prestigious wine list and extremely friendly and accommodating staff.

We were there on a budget and ordered the cheapest room last minute. Compared to the price it was good, but I didnt love it. But it did give us a taste of the posh life. The rest of the property was incredible. The breakfast was superb! We ate dinner at a neighbouring restaurant and I had one of my best meals of my life.

We visited in April 2018 as a family of 6 and had the most wonderful stay. There is so much to say about Hunters — absolutely stunning location — well kept gardens which you can lose yourself in for hours, friendly and helpful staff (they even organised an Easter egg hunt for the children), the kids corner was wonderful, the food was excellent at breakfast and dinner. The room — wow! It was perfect. Beautiful, comfortable and our two bedroom cottage was perfect for our family. There were so many thoughtful touches (homemade treats and handwritten notes at night, our names on the menus at dinner, homemade biscuits for our onwards journey and so many more). This was a truly 5 star stay yet not at all stuffy and formal. I would love to return here and do not hesitate to recommend it to anyone looking for somewhere special to stay.

Grate service together with beautiful facilities. Very secluded. A must stay in Plettenberg Bay.

Very friendly staff and a beautiful garden area. The rooms are clean and nicely decorated. Also the food in the in-house restaurant was very good.

Part of Tsala Treetop Resort. This country house shares is grounds with Tsala. It offers big grounds to wander around, there is also a communal pool area. Hunter's Country House has it's own restaurant. Guests can also book in to Zinzi restaurant or the restaurant in Tsala.

Awesome food, awesome rooms.

Old world charm. Beautiful gardens set in tranquil surroundings. Staff is friendly, helpful and very well trained. Makes one feel special, almost as if you are a guest at Downton Abbey. The rooms and suites are very well appointed and absolutely beautifully designed. You can have supper in one of the three diningrooms, at Zinzi or Tsala on the estate. The food is devine and very well presented. Breakfast is exceptional. You can take a walk in the forest, go cycling on the estate, relax at the pool or spend time reading in the library. High tea is served.

Too many great things to say about Hunters. From the moment we arrived the service and hospitality was 1st rate. The staff were friendly and helpful the accommodation was excellent. The food was incredible and the staff advised us on great day trips and experiences to do while we stayed there. We were lucky enough to stay in the build up to Christmas on our honeymoon so had many extra treats (bubbles in our room on arrival, a Christmas stocking and present when we got back to our room on Christmas Eve) but best of all the staff got together and sang Christmas Carols are dinner. We really didn't want to leave.

Beautiful rooms and food at Zinzi! Would go again if I was to return to Plettenberg.

Thank you for an amazing stay! The extra and complimentaries were top notch! From bubbles to sherry, divine cookies to chocolates and fresh lavender everywhere! The rose petal arrangement on our bed and the hot petal bubble bath that greeted us after the most delish dinner is way more than expected! And from my point of view… my desert was ' to die for'. 6 star all round! Many thanks to the team! @tripadvisor.

Wow! What a truly amazing place. Have never stayed anywhere quite like it. So many beautiful touches. Loved the boma, could have sat there all day and once the fire was lit in the evening it was even more special. Breakfast offerings out of this world, best handmade granola I have ever tasted.
Honestly can't fault it and would recommend to anyone. Staff are friendly and can't do enough for you.

Super quaint and romantic place. Amazing customer service. Our room had a fire place in it and they came by to light it for us after dinner. Each night we had turndown service they left little treats and cute poems. Very unique place! Highly recommend for honeymoons or romantic getaways. They also had a really cute fire place room inside the main lodge that was very quaint. And then by the pools outside they would light a fire and bring you drinks. In the mornings we saw monkeys. Felt very secluded and near wildlife. The rooms were very comfortable and beautiful!

Great venue, beautiful gardens, stunning rooms, friendly staff. Had to try and find a waiter now again but other than that, a lovely experience.

Best experience of our 4 week vacation in SA. Excellent reception, great cottages separated from neighbours, knowledgeable and friendly staff, beautiful setting. Breakfast was always very good and dinner excellent. We found Hunter's to be an excellent place to chill out, even with children.

Beautiful! Spectacular country setting. Convenient to Plett and Knysna. Houses are cozy and luxurious. Staff and food are both worth coming back for. Can't wait for a reason to return.

Absolutely stunning! Impeccable service, most friendly staff, phenomenal menu which was surprisingly cheap. We also recieved a free upgrad to an extra large suite with baby facilities for our almost 5 months old. I would recommend this 5* treat to anyone.
