Hawksmoor House is an elegant boutique hotel in the Stellenbosch region. We stayed for four nights and loved every minute of it. The breakfast was superb. The views are breathtaking. The service friendly and always ready to help.

Beautiful setting, intimate atmosphere, takes one back to the glory of yesteryear.

We spent 2 restful nights at this delightful guesthouse. The staff went out of their way to make us feel special, and the food was exceptional. After our first night's dinner, we opted to book another dinner rather than go out to a restaurant, which wasn't the initial plan.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Hawksmoor. I love the vintage decor & the tranquil atmosphere. The staff really went the extra mile to make us feel comfortable. We were served coffee or tea & muffins on arrival which were extra. The breakfast was divine. Thank you Hawksmoor, we will definitely recommend you to friends & associates & no, we are definitely not friends or family.

Overall, a very good experience, the area is peaceful, a great place to go to get away from the city, staff were friendly and helpful, my only complaint is the lack of seating in the room.

Happend to find a deal on daddy's deals and bought it. Room was decent. No tv. One could do with a TV if it's stormy weather and no where to go. Shower was ice cold… don't know if they turned the geyser off? Plug in basin could not come out, therefore the water could not drain. Poor plumbing in bathroom… toilet takes a while to reflush, low pressure shower. Other than that. The hospitality was good. Staff were helpful and breakfast was good. If it wasn't for the deal, I wouldn't pay full price. Hot shower in winter is needed!

This was one of the worst experiences I had at any guest house, even the ones that is a quarter of the price was much better. The room we had did not even closely resemble any of the pictures on the website. I did not come across one of the charming scenes that is described on their website. There was a morbid atmosphere running through the place the entire time. Usually the guests at a guest house or hotel are in a joyful mood, this place sucked the joy out of everyone. The curtains and interior decorations were filthy, but worse of all was the shower. If you open the water for 20 seconds, you must wait for a minute for the water to drain through the blocked drain or stand in water up to your ankles. If someone else somewhere opens a tap you have no water and must wait until it comes back after a few minutes. I genuinely felt more dirty after the shower than before. The people rating this place more than 1 star must be friends or family, there is no way that anyone will be satisfied with this place and at that price. Unfortunately people will be conned into booking the place as the internet pictures looks good and you will assume at that price the place must be at least a 4 star, you are in for a very nasty surprise. The only good thing I can mention is that although the breakfast was very basic, it was tasty.

Sadly one of the most disappointing (and expensive) experiences of all our travels! Website details and photos deceiving as what you get is not what is depicted. Staff make you feel like you are imposing, breakfast is not up to scratch, the pool (once you can find it) is some place I would not even dip my toe in (and the option to swim was one of the primary reasons we opted to stay here), and let me not even mention the things that made us cringe with disgust! We are in the tourism industry ourselves and decided to spoil ourselves with a holiday — something we have not done in over 12 years — and only for it to be ruined by such a negative experience. Honestly, it takes a lot for me to complain so writing this review is only in the hope that the establishment can start to take corrective action as there is loads of potential but it must just be done right!

Beautiful historic manor house and lovely gardens. The hospitality here is great — spent a lovely weekend here and will happily return!

A beautiful estate. We had a private function here and the setting was breathtaking.

I was fortunate enough to have celebrated my anniversary and birthday at this beautiful, awesome, amazing place. Not only is this place breath taking but the staff are amazing. From the welcome, to the turn down, breakfast and then the departure they remained professional and took attention to detail right to the next level. I will recommend that if you looking for a place to relax with beautiful scenery and amazing people go to Hawksmoor House you won't be disappointed.
