The place is great and ideally located. Staff very friendly, helpful, and went beyond the extra mile to make our stay comfortable and memorable. The transport service and personnel was amazing.

The room was amazing: clean, warm and room service was quick. Friendly staff, very helpful even when we lost the room key. The buffet breakfast was real good too. A variety for most dietary choices, even picky eaters.

Management and staff were absolutely amazing, kind, friendly and most of all very Hospitable. Honorable mentions — (Manager — Mathew) and (Reception — Zimkita) Both are surely assets to the Protea group. Keep up the great work Protea Hotel Sea Point.

Such a bad experience! POOR service and I got charged R429 for making a phone call. I would never recommend this hotel to anyone!

Reasonably priced hotel for business stay over. Great service. Rooms a little small.

Great location not to far from the main amenities of this wonderful city that is Cape Town. The rooms are small but well appointed and with all the necessary conveniences. I loved the quality of their free Wi-Fi. And appreciated the availability and helpfulness of their staff. This is the 1st place ever, where I requested and received a clean good quality iron and ironing board. This helped boost my energy levels as I facilitated a session for a group of 100 eager and demanding sales people. Talking about conferencing, the facilities are good and proper. My only disappointed was that they appear to be under-staffed with only one fellow doing all the prep, planning and manual work! That said, the staff, shift supervisors and managers are top drawer folks! I give them 4 stars out of five!

It is double storied meaning you have a view from the balcony. They have Excellent client service. Excellent location with underground parking space. The food is exquisite and the chefs are top quality. I loved the hotel and thoroughly enjoyed the food. Staff are super friendly and mindful. This is a must for stay overs and hosting meetings and conferences.

One star for the location, which is fantastic. However, the rooms literally feels like a jail cell. It is the smallest hotel room I have ever stayed in and there isn’t a separate bathroom. They have a small stall for the toilet and when you leave the shower, you walk right into the main room. The sink is in the main room. To give you an idea of how small the room is… I can easily touch the shower when sitting in the bed on one side. On the other side of the bed, I can touch the desk. The size and structure of this hotel room is shocking.

Not a bad hotel, but again lacking the training of international brands. Great location and close to everything, but one must have a certain patience when dealing with the staff. Not that bad as choice tough.

Fantastic place to stay in with some ocean views and a walking distance from the beach and restaurants in the area. Friendly residence if you take the time to walk around and mingle with the locals. Area is very quiet and peaceful.

Beautifully renovated this time old building is inviting to the local and foreigner. Breakfast is delicious, well worth the visit.

Absolutely appalling. My parents, being a proud procard members, booked into a few protea hotels during their stay here in Cape Town — namely, Tygervally, North Wharf, Cape Castle, and lastly here. Upon arrival, we found cockroaches in our room. Following that, the bathroom door handle came completely out of the door and the TV was faulty. When my father complained about it, he asked the receptionist why she was not writing these complaints down (so that they could be rectified while we were not in the room), only to be told that she does have a memory. We arrived back at the hotel at about 8pm — to find the door fixed but the TV left faulty. It was then brought to our attention that nobody knew about it. We were then asked to move rooms at about 9pm. Extremely disappointed with this protea hotel.

I like this place. Had an excellent room with Fabulous Views. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly. Will definitely stay here again.

Lovely, friendly and efficient service. We were in our room within a few moments and checked out even quicker. Wonderful experience for our first visit. We'll definitely be back.

Lovely conference facilities. It was quite and well conditioned rooms for hosting training. The staff was very helpful to make our staff very comfortable. Wi-Fi connection was very stable and audio system for the venue was top quality. Even with other companies hosting the program at seminars next door the sound proof was excellent and the noise levels were contained in the relevant rooms. Location is ideal for outside travelers because you are in close proximity to the beach front and other things to do in the city. Enjoyed conferencing and staying at the venue.

Excellent, friendly service — nothing was too much trouble. The room not the most glamorous but it was comfortable, modern and neat, with all needed amenities. The bathroom small but functional. Pool deck nearby a bonus. Breakfast was basic but good. Overall, not 5* luxury but a good few steps above basic, and great service makes up for any deficiencies.

Okay. No great shakes. Can be noisy. Room doors have nil sound proofing. As for the fire alarm at 1.30 am. If possible it needs to discriminate between fire and idiots smoking in no smoking rooms.

Der Preis passt gar nicht. Demotiviertes Personal, kriegen nicht mal ein Lächeln raus. Eingangsbereich vom Parkdeck funktioniert die Klingel nicht, also um das Gebäude… Die Zimmer sind Sauber, aber sehr ringhörig. Der Balkon ist ein absoluter Witz! Also besser aus der Stadt was suchen für den gleichen Preis gibt es viel Besseres… Inklusive Minibar.

The rooms are excellent but some improvements still need to be done. They need to put small fridges in the rooms.

I had an amazing birthday weekend here. The Staff was helpful and full of smiles. They went the extra mile to ensure that I felt like a princess… floating balloons and all.

The superior room was disappointing, not very different from a standard room (although the staff insisted there was a big difference). The room had no desk; shower design was lacking in efficiency resulting in a lot of water spilling onto the bathroom floor. Staff seemed friendly overall and the breakfast was good! The hotel doesn't serve lunch or dinner but have arrangements with Spur and Ocean Basket (room service is available for orders from these restaurants). Breakfast was good.

Good central location in real CapeTown. Safe neighbourhood, close to all and everything. Value for money and very friendly and professional staff.

Clean and comfortable with good service. The morning breakfast is excellent. The attached Spurs Steak Ranches restaurant however is pretty limited for selections and complexity; rather like a slimmed down Denny's if you're from the states. Fortunately there are many better restaurants within a reasonable walking distance.

I honestly thought this was a five star hotel. The staff were so pleasant, the hotel was beautiful and comfortable, and the views and Sea Point surroundings were complete bliss.

I loved every second. The staff are very professional and helpful. Will be coming back there very soon. Keep up the excellent service. We need more places like yours.

It was a good experience, but the quality was not as great as some of the other Protea Hotels in South Africa. Not a fan of the noisy air conditioner or the tiny bathroom.

Quality not what I experienced at other Protea hotels. I expected this kind of quality from a low budget hotel. Definitely not staying here again. Just a single drop down blind in front of the window without a view, not even net curtains or curtains. People from across the street can look into your room from their flat windows unless you want to keep the blind closed all day. The blind does not even cover the window properly when closed an light is coming in from the sides and the bottom. No central or split air conditioning. Just the noisy wall mounted type, I honestly thought these aren't manufactured any more. All the furniture looks like cheap assembled flat pack furniture. One bedside table looks like a foldable presswood TV dinner tray. I get a really tacky feeling and genuinely wonder if it will be safe to leave my room and go for dinner. The bathroom is incredibly small, so much so that there was no space to fit a surface around the small washbasin that is hanging from the wall. The soap and shampoo is displayed on clear plastic surface hanging from the wall over the washbasin on a single screw. The toilets at the Formula1 looks nicer than these. Save yourself the inconvenience and book into the Holiday Inn, one of the Southern Sun hotels, City Lodge or Road Lodge. They all offer infinitely better quality for a similar price. If you're happy with this kind of quality, save yourself a lot of money and book into the Formula1.
