What a experience. Thanks to all the staff for being so friendly. Exceptional service, you guys are like family.

We stayed for a week this hotel with my boyfriend Chris. The stay was comfortable because the room is vey clean. The size of the room is not that big but it was comfortable to stay. The Wi-Fi is perfect connection and no problem at all. The shower is powerful with hot and cold. Bed and beddings are comfortable. Their is 24 hours filter brewed coffee in the common lounge in reception. Continental breakfast included and healthy food to start your day with variiety fresh fruits. Muffins diff flavors, yughorts variety, juices, biscuits 24 hours, cereals, boiled eggs, Can requests toast breads with butter and jam. Their is no lift: but hotel is not that big. And just fine.
There is also a coffee machine in the room available, safe box available. The price per night is very affordable. The location is very accessible and some walking distance to tourist attractions. The hotel is in the heart of the city where lots of restaurants and pubs. All entire staff are very kind and very helpful and polite and we feel a second home. And we are so very thankful to them. We are highly recommend this hotel and definitely you will enjoy your stay. To all the staff and management of this hotel thank you so much and God bless.

It's difficult to give a solid recommendation here as we are very much undecided. I definitely think this hotel and its location caters to a younger more adventurous market. We are glad we tried it out but are used to a much cleaner environment. There were about 30 flies in our room which we had to doom before being able to sleep. The rooms were interesting and the staff definitely made an effort so you can't go wrong from a service point of view. But from a safety and security point I wouldn't recommend — unfortunately we had to park our vehicle in the street and we were harassed almost immediately by beggers and felt very uncomfortable and unsure of the safety of our car. Glad we did it once. And if you up for a little nightlife and city adventure go for it but don't go with high expectations. Again — service was wonderful maybe just check the rooms for those flies next time.

Booked for my hubby birthday this past weekend, front manager of the hotel was very helpful and advised even though the hotel was fully booked he could accomodate me in the apartments. I was happy with that. That was until we arrived — dirty dusty apartment with a old damp smell in it when we walked in. The apartments are situated above a club and extremely noisy aircons on the wall outside. The bin wasnt emptied from previous client. as is was my hubby birthday I tried to ma…ke the most of it. Then, cockroaches… all in the kitchen… and the cherry on the cake was woken up to my husband hitting a roach off me while I slept. I felt physically dirty leaving the apartment. Was absolutely not happy with my stay and will NEVER RECOMMEND or GO BACK THERE. shocking!

Stunning hotel, very friendly staff xx quaint n quirky rooms, very clever concept. We stayed in the Fresh (Mentos) room. Center of CBD, very convenient. Will defs return for another stay.

Absolutely amazing service… fresh brewed coffee always available.

Great staff and amazing location. Street parking is plentiful and the neighborhood is really vibrant. Staff is young and hip. They even give you a beer or cider upon arrival. I wish we could had stayed longer, the neighborhood has great shopping.

Well located for a night or two in Cape Town CBD, this little hotel is within reach of many of the attractions the city has to offer. A little worn around the edges, but affordable and clean with a super friendly hospitality staff to welcome us and recommend local dining and entertainment venues. We shall return.

Fun idea, could be a really cool little hotel, but seriously tired and grubby, needs a makeover big time. Throw into the mix the odd cockroach, guests upstairs trying to kill each other at 3am, and a fire alarm that went off at 8am on a Sunday morning and couldn't be turned off, and you end up with not the greatest all time stay!

Nice price and in busy street with plenty of restaurants and night clubs.

While the hotel service provides every basic need it is important to note that the hotel is situated in lower Long Street and this area is not the safest. If you are simply looking for a place to lay your head then this is adequate but if you are in search of comfort, look elsewhere. The room was small, the walls are thin, and the bathroom and shower was not very clean. There are only stairs, so it is not disability friendly or fit for the elderly. There is no hotel parking, so one is forced to find parking elsewhere and walk. I will not be returning.

I left a review on tripadvisor, which I am trying to edit (which ended up being more of a review of the way expedia had treated the whole situation), but until then here is the basics of daddylonglegs: The pros: * the staff is super friendly, the manager Mr. Manny (sorry for how I wrote the name, unsure about it) was very friendly and welcoming, he did everything to make us feel safe. *the rooms are exactly what the hotel says they are, unique and different, the place is relatively clean. The downs: *The location, while if you are used to cities similar to Cape Town you may not be bothered by long street, we have found that after 6-7p. M it becomes very unsafe, unless you are in a very large group. *The noise, for some reason there was a lot of noise during the night, I believe it was the wind and the outside that made such a noise. *The lack of isolation, there is barely any isolation in the whole building, if you are a deep sleeper and don't mind the light or noise, should be fine for you. All in all, did we stay there the whole time we had planned… NO, we found that the safety concerns with walking to the conference center and back were to great and we had to leave. Would I recommend it to friends. YES, the staff was super friendly, you get a great service for the amount you paid, and if you don't mind the location you should be good. I would recommend staying there for a week-end.

It's a great place if you appreciate art and diversity. More of a back packers… ideal for the younger crown who need to stay Central to night life and want to commute around the city.

As a frequent traveler I must say: one of the best hotels I ve stayed in since a while: — absolutely fantastic service — great creative rooms — quite — location is perfect for touring captown Would come back anytime! Keep up the great personal service and familiar mood!

If you have an artistic mind, you'll love this place. The rooms are clean and well maintained. Each room has a theme and a matching decoration so instead of numbers, they have names. Very welcoming staff. Bar and terrace available with a great view on Cape Town's iconic Long Street.

This is definetely NOT a hotel. Its a backpackers. We did some homework before we booked and looked at some pictures. Believe me pictures can be so deceiving. The following was wrong: no elevator. Reception dont offer the welcome drink they promise. The walls of the rooms are dry walls, which mean you hear everything your neighbour says. We had a horrible view over the store room of the building next door. Windows lock was broken and we felt very unsafe. Shower was full of mould and the walls was very dirty. No TV and extra blankets. And the roof top bar they boast about is an absolute joke. Wooden floor makes so much noise that when you walk it wakes up the whole hotel. No parking off Long street which is a very unsafe street at night in CPt. Horrible place and should not be called a hotel!

Weird and wonderful decor, but worth the price.

Cool hotel to stay in, with many different art rooms. Good room service, and nice emoloyees. Did'nt have brakefast, but the hotel is close to various restaurants and cafes.

Very welcoming staff. In house bar. Spacious room and private bath. A lot of stairs, which were hard after hiking all day. Clean and in a seemingly safe area.

The 2br apartment on Long St is disgusting. Thoroughly disgusting. I stayed with Amanda from 7-11 March and got to see moldy pillows, blood on the duvees, gross dirty pillows, a urine-stained couch, a layer of dust on the floor boards, and a refusal to replace toilet paper. (that's without mentioning the "self catering apartment" that doesn't provide washing detergent for the sink or washing machine. ) So disgusting. I wouldn't stay here again if it were the last place in Cape Town with a roof.

Cape Town is a great city to visit, and Daddy's world offer an exciting range of adventure-like hotels in the city. My favourites are the roof-top airstreamer trailer park on Grand Daddy hotel and the Daddy Long Legs, where we stayed this time. The hotel is an art experience in itself with rooms designed by local artists, every room being unique. It is located in the middle of Longstreet with some of the coolest restaurants and design markets and bars within a few minutes walking distance. And close to museums such as Bo-Kaap and District Six. The rooms are clean and fresh, the staff very friendly and professional and they will help you with just about any request-any time-night or day — booking wine tours or safaris, or booking restaurants and taxis. Good value for your money! This is definitely my regular hotel in Cape Town.
