Prsonable well run facility, good breakfast and well situated. I would go back there when next visiting Cape Town.

We liked everything, comfort of the family suite, refinement of the house, tranquility of the garden.

Great Guest House with passionate owners! Amazing grounds with great amenities. Close to differrent restaurants. Very close to CapeTown CBD and also the Airport. Great place for a quick getaway or for longer periods. You will be in great hands at this guesthouse. I was at an Auction event they hosted and it was just amazing to see the level of service. @noblevinesct @constantianectarwines.

Nice place and the owners are great full​. The only thing that I didn't; lights are low, they should install more lights.

Geweldig guesthouse met heel veel sfeer. Een oase met veel comfort. Loved the victorian style of the villa. Every room is different. The owners are very friendly and helpful. We stayed here for 5 nights and we will definitely come back!

We had a wonderful two night stay in this lovely old guesthouse. The rooms are very spacious, the breakfast is delicious and the hosts are extremely friendly and helpful. We'll definitely be staying here again in the future.

The owners and the staff welcome you with open arms. They very respectful and very friendly. The rooms and facilities are absolutely beautiful. The place is not in Cape Town but only a 5min drive to town. It's a very safe area and the parking are secure. There's absolutely nothing bad about this guesthouse.

What a fantastic guest house (B &B)! The owners were so helpful, friendly and just overall beautiful people! Love their dog also. Paradise grounds surrounding the house. Staff very friendly and helpful. It gets 5 stars from me! Did I mention the breakfast? Yummy, beautiful presentation as well.

I just returned home after 3 weeks in Cape Town studying abroad. I could not have felt more at home at the lovely Carmichael Guesthouse. Valerie and Yves are so welcoming and they often helped us find our way around the Mowbray/Rosebank area. I shared a bathroom with two other girls and it was very large! Our rooms were always neat and so clean. I highly recommend the Carmichael Guesthouse! When I return to Cape Town someday I will definitely be returning!

An outstanding choice in Cape Town. Excellent location, easy walk to shops and restaurants. Lovely and beautifully maintained house and gardens. The Ducommon family are warm and welcoming hosts, and Yves' breakfasts are not to be missed. (Especially the cheese omelet. ) Rooms and baths are large and well-appointed.

The Carmichael Guesthouse is a wonderful choice for any tourist or business person. My family (husband and 2 kids ages 5 and 7) and I truly enjoyed staying there this past June. The owners are a charming couple and the house is a beautiful example of Victorian architecture. The breakfast, included in the price, was delicious and had some a la carte options. We LOVED their croissants, which they import from France! Our rooms were very nice and very convenient for a family with children since they were interconnected by a covered balcony. The bathroom was clean and spacious and inside the room. The decoration was tasteful and the beds were comfortable. Lots of space for clothes storage. The small fridge in the room was very useful to our family. Service was excellent. The housekeepers were always very friendly and helpful and really impressed me when I saw them ironing the bed comforter, daily! Yves and Valerie were very nice and helpful with questions we had about the city. Their sweet dog was also very nice, specially with our kids who loved being able to pet him. Location is nice and safe. Very convenient for anyone doing business at Cape Town University. If you have a car is a short ride to downtown (20 mins approximately). Otherwise, you can take a taxi cab or ride the bus (we did this a couple of times! ). If you don't have a car I highly recommend to buy a ticket to the Red tourist bus which you can catch in downtown.

Absolutely fantastic. In a lifetime of travel, this is the warmest, loveliest place I have ever stayed. The house is charming, the garden blooming, the rooms large, airy and beautifully decorated. The owners Yves and Valerie are incomparable — warm, welcoming, such nice people; they went out of their way every day to help us with recommendations and reservations. When our daughter, who is studying at UCT, suddenly required knee surgery, they were incredibly kind, and kept a two bedroom suite so that she could recuperate with us, turning a potentially terrible experience into a positive one. Yves even printed out my daughter's papers for her so she could get them to UCT on time after her surgery. And on top of all that, the breakfast — prepared by Yves in a chef's hat — is delicious. Our daughter wanted to move in permanently, and so did we. Yves and Valerie, thank you so very much for your gracious hospitality. We loved staying with you.

Beyond expectations in every way was our experience at Carmichael House! The owners are kind beyond words, arranging for tours and transportation as well as providing much needed guidance for the must do's in Cape Town, My son is a student at UCT for his semester abroad from an American University and lives within a few blocks of the guest house. Breakfast is divine and I was able to stay before and after a safari to Botswana and upon my return I was able to stay in a two bedroom suite so that my son would have the pleasure of staying with a local family in a comfortable bed! I heartily recommend this lovely guest house for anyone who visits Cape Town! I hope to return with more family and friends in 2014 and wouldn't stay anywhere else.

Staying at the Carmichael House is like staying with family — — family you like, that is! Clearly the Guesthouse is beyond charming and the location is close to the University of Capetown, where our daughter is spending a semester — — and all of that would be enough to give it a first class rating, but there is so much more. My husband and I stayed 1 night and our older daughter stayed for an additional 5 nights so she could visit her sister. Yves and Valerie, the proprietors, took care of her like she was their own, booked tours for her, etc. And, when I realized (6 hours before her flight) that I had never booked my daughter a flight from Capetown to Johannesburg for her 8:40 pm flt home, my frantic call to Yves solved the situation. Within an hour Yves (a former airline agent) had booked my daughter on her connecting flight so that she would be able to fly from J-burg as planned. Yves and Valerie consistently went out of their way to make both of our stays memorable. Hope to return some day soon.
