Worst dinner, got the wrong food, then got the two meals 15 minutes apart. Cold food and plates underdone and tasteless lamb. Stay away.

Service was so poor, watress could remember 2 beverages, came back 3 times, patio and toilets were filthy.

First time booking in… Its a very nice place, you have a choice between a room with a shower or a bath. Always warm water, clean and safe. There is things you can do like putt putt and taking the kids to the arcade.

Everything was great, Cant wait to go visit again.

Not the best I have seen. The hotel is 3 star and it shows. The free internet is good, but I could not make it work as they promised. I loaded 10 vouchers in an hour and then gave up. The mobile phone reception is sketchy in most places indoor. The local restaurant is not too bad, but I would rather visit the Dros in town. In all, not bad, but next time I will find a B&B next to the Orange River.

My first time here, terrible experience, air-con not working, no blankets in the room and as if that was not enough the shower does not work properly… As I write this I'm freezing cold from malfunctioning shower, called for help 20min ago and I am still waiting. Will never come or advise any of my colleagues, friends and/family to come here.

Desert Palace Upington is a MUST to visit in order to experience true relaxation ; giid foid and endless hours of joy.

I love every moment I spend there I mean I cum from cpt and I did had a bad tym in springbok but desert palace hotel is the place where u wanne be when u in uppington nyc to have a holiday there with your family breakfast was awesome just one thing the casino is not 24/7 lol.

It's huge. Away from the village so it's pretty quiet. It has a golf course, Casino and a swimming pool. The normal room. With the necessary but without luhos. Fridge, work table, terrace overlooking a garden and shower.

Love it. The atmosphere, good food and wonderful staff. Casino has a great atmosphere too.

We have stayed here on 2 different occasions and each time the service improves. The staff are friendly, pleasant and accommodating, it was a welcoming environment. We were in a double room unit that had a lovely bath. The room was clean, however there was only enough toiletries for one person. Also water isn't provided. (I would suggest giving the guests water bottles in the fridges. ) It's near a cemetery but you forget about that once you enter, as it has a Golf Course, an area to play miniature golf, a casino, a game arcade for children (my son thoroughly enjoyed it), a creche (from 4 years old/1.2m), a lovely Italian restaurant, a small shop (mostly filled with junk food) and a spa. Breakfast is really good, there's a buffet with various cereals and lovely fruit. All in all, it's always a pleasant stay. I would definitely recommend this place if you looking for a weekend a way with the family or even if you stopping over for a night. Its very family friendly. :)

Booking in Was easy with a friendly lady. She forgot to ask us if we are staying for breakfast the next morning. So they did not prepare breakfast and were a bit rude when we pitched up. Strange for a “hotel and casino” I’m not sure if we are just too spoilt here in Johannesburg, but everything at that establishment closes so early in the evenings. Even the casino closes, I was not aware that casinos even close.
The rooms were clean and the dinner was good!

The accommodation is comfortable and stylish. There is DStv available but our room was missing some channels. Wi-Fi is only available at reception. We visited the resort as part of a large party so their restaurant staff were ill-equipped to handle us all. The dinner buffet was not very varied, but as we're vegan the restaurant was more than happy to accommodate us with a special meal. The game arcade was very small. The casino was well-equipped, though if you wished to play roulette or poker you would have to sit in the smoking area. There was a minigolf course that was open till late. I especially loved the murals. :)

Amazing food and fun for everybody. They have golf put-put and casino along with play room for children.

Very dissapointed by tonights service in the restaurant! Wont go back anytime soon. We waited about an hour for our garlic snails wich they switched with garlic mussels. We send it back and waited very long again. Asked fot onoin rings and got chips. Asked for pumkin and coleslaw as they said they had but we got carots and peas and corn mix. Asked for a glas of water when my moms mouth was on fire from the pepper sause and said it was ergent but still took 10min to fetch it. Sooooooooooooo dissapointing! Waiter didnt even apologied, manager never even came to our table to ask if everyting was oky. Worst part is everybody wanted to go to spur but I suggested the casino…

The staff were very friendly and helpful. Rooms very nice and and a bit homey, didn't like the fact that the entrance to the reception area had an air of cigarette smoke it's like you were welcomed by it just walking through the entrance. The food was also fine but I didn't like the last supper they served me the steak was too dry and it look like and after thought the way the food was served to me.

For the gambler, a must see and experience. Very stark contrast between night and day activities, during the daytime wineries in the Kalahari to be visited and at night the beautiful Desert Palace.

Clean and very neat. Good restaurant and casino as well. Safe overnight parking.
