What an extraordinary experience. South Africa is beyond beautiful. The staff went above and beyond to cater to every need and desire. Facilities are great and what better to fall asleep to the sound of a moving river and crickets talking to one another. Highly recommended. Bring sunblock and leave your stress behind.

Excellent service, accommodation and setting!

Awesome spot! The manager calls to check on where you are and enquire how you're journey has been thus far. The staff are superbly trained and even though working extra long shifts during this busy season, nothing is to much for them. Beautiful setting overlooking the Orange River.

One of the best and relaxing holidays I've had!
From the minute we arrived, we were warmly welcomed by Werner and we realised we were going to have to slow down and unwind. He briefed us about the camp and a few places and activities we could visit.
The staff were really helpful and very friendly and knew how to serve the customer.
The location of our log cabin was absolutely perfect. From our deck, we had a beautiful view of the Orange river and could hear the relaxing sounds of a rapid in the distance. The cabin was well equipped and the cleaning service was excellent and made our stay more comfortable and enjoyable.
The scenery was spectacular and it was a relieve to walk in such a quiet and peaceful environment. The view of the sunsets from our deck was absolutely mesmerizing. Werner also accompanied us on a river rafting trip and we had a great time together. All respect for him who does a great job there. He is certainly an excellent ambassador for Khamkirri.
The owner, Danie took us on a day trip to Riemvasmaak and his knowledge of the area and the history was very interesting and highly informative. All around excellent hospitality by Khamkirri. Indeed a very good place to relax and recharge the batteries. We will definitely be back… Hopefully in the not too distant future. Kind regards,

Absolute brilliant private ablutions. The restaurant setting on the river is unbeatable. Everything in the camp is spotless clean. The reception and other staff is brilliant and friendly. Wish I could stay a week.

What can I say, Khamkirri is a must! Everyone is friendly and helpful. The stay was amazing and the nature even better. This has definitely become one of our favorite places to be. I highly recommend them!

I visited Khamkirri in December last year and had a fantastic experience. Accommodation was clean and very confortatble and the staff were friendly and efficient. The fishing was incredible with every throw producing a bite. This place is a must experience and for me a must return 10 out of 10 in my ratings thank you.

Wonderful people, owners and staff. Beautiful campsites, Restaurant and Bar. Lovely setting on the banks of the Orange river. The kind of place you want to keep a secret to have it for yourself. You can go paddling mountain biking and kayaking.

Just spent 4days and 5 nights in this magical place. The perfect place for special family time and an escape from the crazy build up to Christmas. The riverside tents made camping a breeze! Views and sunsets to die for and wonderfully friendly staff. We are already planning when we can head back there.

Excellent service, accomodation and a real experience. The staff goes the extra mile for their guest and make your stay memorable. The staff prepared a romantic spot for our anniversary which we will never forget! Thank you so so much!

Awesome quiet camping in the outdoor area of Kakamas. Great place for hosting weddings and just relaxing on the banks of the orange river. All and all just a great place. Staff are super friendly and helpfull. Thanks you guys for an amazing weekend.

Stunning log cabins and lovely food. We loved the walking trails and rowing. Kids could cycle and play uninterrupted. All the staff were super friendly!

Danie and Philippa are a top notch crew who do more than what is required to bring you a service that is far better then what can be expected.

The place changed names! It's now Kalahari River and Safari company. Great camp site with shady green grass spots along the Orange River. We camped, but they've got Safari tents and other types of accommodation as well. There is a restaurant on site for all your meals or just a drink. Which you can enjoy on a deck overlooking the river. If you can't get enough of the river they also offer canoe hire and guided trips. We camped just outside the busy season, which makes it a lovely quiet place full of fun for the whole family.

Nice comfy bed in a big tent was great, friendly staff and communal space made us feel welcome and the views over the river at sunset were awesome.

Never visit the placebut the owner Gawie Niewoudt is a fraudster and theft.

Put this one on your to do list. Really beautiful river fun Rapids and generally warm sunny conditions. The organizing committee really do a great job on the river and off with good food at giant portions.

Who knew the Kalahari had a picturesque green side… And what a great stretch of river for this race… Not to mention the R300k prize pot.
