Xanatseni Private Camp Lodge

My husband and I stayed for 3 nights as part of our honeymoon! We had a fab stay, Teneil, Ross, Sidney and the staff were all lovely. We were fortunate enough to see The Big Five, Ross and Sidney were a great team tracking them down for us and Ross is a fount of knowledge about all the wildlife! Wow! It is amazing and the people are so amazing.

I had never been to South Africa before. And I hooked up with two friends on Facebook Shawn Scooby and Gary Parker, who set and booked my 9 day trip. It truly was incredible. When we arrived at Xanatseni Private Camp I couldn't believe my eyes! It was truly unbelievable. We were right in the middle of it all. We had hyenas sneak into camp at night. Two leopards cruised by the swimming pool in a dried creek bed, on the inside of the wire. Elephants just outside the gates! And the food and hospitality were plus ten! OMG the living faculties and the dinners, breakfasts, and lunches were to die for. Eating under the stars at night by candle light. I could go on and on. But the guides and staff that's what I truly remember. If you needed anything just ask it was done. I wanted a vehicle with no top for better camera angles. They provided it. I wanted to leave earlier and get out at way before the sun came up, they provided it. I wanted Ostrich burgers everyday for lunch, again they provided it. And then there was the safari itself into the bush. Well let me tell you something, no lies their guide Ewin took us out and put us on the big 5 in TWO days. That's insane you say? No it was skill. He put us on an elephant killed by a lion pack. I came home with memories of a lifetime! If you have never been to South Africa on safari. I tell you to book it and go! You will truly see what it's like out in the wild bush. I'm talking leave the big lenses at home boys and girls.

Would highly recommend this place to anyone who wants a break. Thank you so much for the amazing service my parents received. They enjoyed every second. The food, the drives. Thank you so much.

Beautiful lodge with very friendly and helpful staff especially Iwan, Zanel, Teneil and Ross. Sightings were amazing. Spent some real good quality time with a herd of elephants.

Thank you so much to everyone at xanatseni for making our 2 night stay so incredible — what an experience we managed to see the big 5 in this short time and we’re very lucky with a cheetah as well.
The hut we stayed in was pure luxury and the food was delicious.
Ross was a great ranger tracking animals down for us in the beautiful setting of the reserve.

A dream come true! This amazing experience was enhanced by Mel Groenewald our knowledgeable ranger who enabled to see in addition to the big five, wild dogs and hyenas fighting over a kill. Her knowledge of animal behavior allowed us to safely experience lions and Elephants interacting from a close range.

Had the most amazing experience. Nothing was to much. All staff are super friendly, passionate about their work and make you feel part of the family. We will definitely be heading back soon ❤️

We just enjoyed 3 extraordinary days at Xanatseni Private Camp in familly. All was perfect. Huge bedrooms (1 for us and 1 for our daughters). Very comfortable beds. Delicious breakfast. Dinner changed every evening (sometimes all the guests together, sometimes private in familly). Lovely spaces to take some rest with a view on the Bush, swimming pool. Very welcoming staff. A very special thanks to our Ranger Ashley. He made us discover Safaris. He was really cool, really kind, we learned a lot from him about animals from South Africa. He has done his very best each time to track animals particularly the Big Five.

Comfortable atmosphere, beautiful and cozy. A special and delicious food. Dedication and special attention of Iwan and Teneil. Teneil, congratulations on the effort to translate and pronounce the menu, making us feel at home. We also had a welcome dinner memorable, exquisite and very tasty. We will never forget the affection received, were unforgettable moments. We thank you from the heart for your receptivity.

I just returned home from a nine day safari trip in south Africa. We did stay four nights at the amazing Xanatseni Private Camp ~ Safari Lodge. I had the time of a lifetime! For a nature photographer they made me feel so comfortable at their lodge and showed me so many animals that I needed to purchase a wildlife book from South Africa before I left. I have videos and photos to post and I will share them with you. If anyone wants to see south Africa and see it from a safari guides point of view then "treat yourself" to this epic adventure! And when you meet your safari guides tell Daniel and Ewan that I sent you!

Just got back from SA, and spent my last 4 Days at this camp. Sydney, Daniel, and Ross were a lot of fun to go out on game drives with and did an awesome job at tracking down the big 5. Rest of the staff was super friendly and helpful. I love that the camp is small, I think holding about 10 people. Definitely recommend if you want to get the true safari experience. This place is really in nature land y’all! Better than a Busch Gardens safari for sure!

What a wonderful place to be. Great service. Very nice people. Very clean and luxe lodges We had good game drives. Not always successful but the factor luck is great. Some special moments, like a little rhino and a family wild dogs. We can recommend it.
