If you’ve found Mafigeni Safaris and your looking for the trip of a lifetime, STOP! Don’t screen another outfitter or guide service. YOU HIT THE JACKPOT ALREADY! Nothing that I can conjure with my vocabulary will ever do them justice. From the second I stepped off the plane, till the moment I left at Hoedspruit Airport. I was treated better than a client.
I was hesitant on picking the right lodge for my once in a lifetime trip. I’ve been obsessed with Africa since I was 3 years old. 30 years later I finally reached my dreams getting to the dark continent.
Mafigeni has become far more to me than a vacation destination. The lodge is built into the rocks and is mesmerizing. The accommodations in camp are second to none. Food at Mafigeni exceptional, serving multi course diners nightly. What more would anyone need?
I’ll tell you what solidified my feelings towards Mafigeni… Family!
When I left on that plane I didn’t leave a Vacation, a Safari Outfitter, or an Photographers Paradise. I left family in South Africa! Jill thank you for being there at the Vegas show. Without you, I’d still be dreaming to this day. Your staff turned a young boys thoughts, into a 33 year olds reality!
Mafigeni Safaris has done it again. We visited last year and were just in awe of the service and staff attention that we booked our trip for this year. However this year we brought along a number of friends 11 more in total and each one has said that Mafigeni was beyond their expectations. Surprise we are booked again for next year with another group of friends and those that came this year also want to come back for another wonderful attentive experience.

We are on the way home from our trip with Mafigeni Safaris and could not have asked for a better experience! Our trip was delayed a year by our request due to covid, and even with that there where no issues or concerns. From the moment we were picked up by Alec and Janus we were made to feel like friends. Our itinerary was customized to make the best of the weather and focus on the things we most wanted to see and do. They even talked us in to going on a hunt and I shot my first large game animal, a zebra! All of the food we were served was amazing, including the zebra I shot! This was truly the best experience I could have imagined and was certainly the trip of a lifetime. We can’t wait to come back again!
