Relaxing and peaceful atmosphere. Staff super friendly and always helpful, nothing is too much trouble. The food is plentiful and yummy. The area is by far the best in the country.

Fantastic stay again in unit 49a in the Emloyeni units at the river mouth end of the resort. Private breakfast area, small plunge pool and comfy sun loungers for those few units and a waiter on call. Weather was spectacular and staff wonderful. Comfortable beds and clean and tidy rooms with everything you need and more. The spa is a real treat. Great memories to treasure once again! We loved it. Thanks to the entire team for making it special.

The best getaway ♡ great fishing and food.

We stayed in umngazi for a weekend with my friends. The hotel is so amazing it's actually feels like a home away from home. From the staff to the room service and the food and all the activities, I'm totally impressed.

We stayed at Umngazi in October for part our honeymoon and it really was such an incredible getaway! The staff are friendly and helpful, the food is delicious, the accommodation is fantastic, and the location is dreamy! We also had a spa treatment included in our chosen package and we are so happy that we did because the massage and spa bath were amazing! Thank you for a wonderful stay and we cannot wait to come back!

Had an incredible visit the past 5 days. My brother and I (together with our kids) had the privilege to celebrate our parents 60th with them — what an experience. Never before have we been at such a lovely, kids friendly resort, with the most beautiful views, fun activities, great vibes, best food ever and friendly staff! Thank you for the lovely time, for making our visit memorable. We are very sad that our stay came to an end (except for the fact that we can start with a big fast, haha, we have eaten like never before — your food was amazing! I cannot recall which meal was better… Breakfast, lunch, dinner or the 2 tea times in between)! Hope to visit one day again, but in the meantime I wish for your whole team the absolute best and may you rise during these difficult times!

Can’t beat the location and landscape! The service is top notch and standard of food superb. The activities are family friendly and lots to do for the kids. One of the best family outings we have had the privilege of experiencing.

It has taken me some time to find the right words to say about Umngazi. Having spent 4 incredible days here it truly felt like a home away from home and gave me the chance to rest and rejuvenate with my significant other. The staff are always willing to help with whatever you need, everything is clean and well thought out. We never once felt we were missing anything. The views are hard to beat, I highly recommend a guided hike with a guide who gives you a run down on the history of the area and is well versed in the animal and plant life. The sunset cruise up the river is a delight and of course the cows on the beach was such a whimsy. But perhaps… my favourite was the food, you wont go hungry, in fact you may leave a few kg's heavier. And this is where a say a personal thank you to Nico, the wonderful chef. As a vegan it can be a pesky challenge to have well rounded meals especially in more remote locations but I was extremely well catered for with far too much to choose from and even my own menu. To everyone at Umngazi, thank you. 🥰 You have all created something very special.

So well catered for with your every needs especially if you have a young family. Accommodation is very very comfortable. Food is awesome with varying menus & set ups. Never not enough 🤩🤩🤩🤩

Just spent 8 days at this paradise destination. It was our first visit and we travelled from CT. Even before arriving, I was blown away by how helpful their reservations staff were (special mention of Charmaine! ) who answered all my millions of questions re. Covid protocols etc. And on this basis we decided to go ahead and come, despite the lockdown and restrictions that goes with it. Well it was a decision I will never regret — one of our best holidays ever! Stunning location, surrounded by the most incredible natural beauty of the Wild Coast. Pristine white sandy beaches that go on forever. Amazing hiking trails from the resort (we did 3 of them). Super friendly staff who cannot do enough for you! Beautiful clean chalet which had everything we needed and super comfy beds. Stunning spa perched high up on the hill with all treatment rooms overlooking the ocean. Had the best facial ever (thanks Seka! ) And the food! Oh my word… simply divine. 3 scrumptious meals a day + morning and afternoon tea! Thanks to head chef Nico who always made sure that we were catered for as vegetarians. Loads to keep children entertained all day with kids activities, fishing, swimming, creative corner, and even a dedicated kids dining area with a special kids menu. All round perfect family holiday! Thank you so much to all at Umngazi, you will definitely be seeing the Taberers again.

Umngazi is fantastic. My wife was so relaxed 5 minutes after arriving. The staff are so friendly and welcoming, nothing is too much trouble. Such an awesome family holiday destination. We can't wait to go back!

Wow! We finally got back into the system after waiting… the best part of our 2020 as once again we are blown away by every bit of attention to detail, making it a memorable Christmas. Natural beauty with the spoils of friendly staff, outstanding facilities, spa treatments to ease any stress and food that fulls the tummy (sometimes a little too much). Lol. Well Done! Your beautiful surrounds inspired us to make a unique Umngazi inspired tree from bits of wood we found on the riverbanks!

Pauline and I had the most amazing stay at this fabulous resort. Our Hosts Nicole and Keith and all their wonderful staff make you feel like you are the most important people in the world.
It is just the most relaxing and perfect location, listening to the waves of the ocean as they rock you to sleep has to be better than any sleeping pill invented!
Whatever you want to do whether it’s action man or just chilling it’s there for you.

I've been to different country's that includes holiday resorts like for example Mauritius, but this place called Umngazi that I've been trying to book for many years and finally got the opportunity is a place that I'll be telling my friends and family about and I will return.
