Really Beautiful place with most scenic backdrops… nature all round. A place to literally wind down as not many activities on site but perfect for pure relaxation and Beautiful trail walks.

What a great venue for our grade ten camp… excellent facilities & such welcoming staff… highly recommend the horse ride… the Back Packers is comfortable with a great lounge to chill in…

Really great. The hosts are excellent and so are the digs. It gets extremely cold in winter. There are electric blankets in some of the rooms, but heaters would have been better.

Really nice place to have a horse riding experience in the Drakensberg. It also has some pretty good accommodation. Did the shirt rides into the mountains but we intend to do the 6 day ride that goes into Lesotho a little later this year.

It was about a month ago I was at Khotso and I still have such great thoughts of this place! James and Alexis create the most beautiful and warm atmosphere from the moment we arrived. The communal area is perfect. Everyone sits around the wood fire and vibes in the evening. Also you must try there food! These guys put on an amazing spread for dinner. You really get the cosy farm house feel. We did the 2 hour horse ride up into the hills on the farm. This is a must do! I regret not doing the 3 hour as I feel you would see even more beauty of the Drakensberg. If your lucky enough to do this I highly recommend requesting Ginger. Such a well behaved and fun horse! Thanks again for the beautiful experience! Will definitely be back the next time I find myself in South Africa.

A great place to stay for a holiday. Packpacking, camping, self-catering rondavals and log cabin. Welcoming friendly hosts. With a variety of horse trails available.

Great place, very good value, nice people. It must be heaven for horse lovers. Comfortable and cosy setting, campsite ic you want to camp, dormitory if you are on a budget, clean and charming rooms if you want that? breaky and dinner, excellent home cooked food, reasonably priced. … A great place… i. Ll be back.

In the heart of a charming Valley, we had a great stay. The team wonderfully welcomed us. The place is cozy, simple, no frills, authentic décor and very good dinners and breakfast! Wi-Fi not very powerful but it allows to meet other travelers and Exchange around the fire!

I stayed for 4 nights in their en-suite rooms. Khotso is a highly social place to stay at. There is no TV; there is a fireplace and a good conversation. They have a variety of accommodation options ranging from camping to self-catering. Their communal, home-made dinners and breakfasts are prepared fresh usually by the hosts. I enjoyed the dinners, to the extent that I didn't even bother of thinking of eating out. Dietary requirements (like vegetarianism) are gladly catered for upon request.

Comfortable, we didn't have to drive out to fill our day with activities. Friendly and helpful staff.

Amazing trail (we did the 2 hour tour). Had a lot of fun with the horses and people there.

My husband and I went for a 1-hour guided horse ride in April 2017. Our guide, Alan, was knowledgable about the area and considerate about our level of horseriding experience. The views from the route are absolutely breathtaking! This is a definite must-do while visiting the Underberg area. Lulu helped us at reception and she was very friendly and helpful.

The place is completely the opposite of what you see on the internet. I had paid in the full amount, but on realizing that the place wasn't what I expected, I asked for a refund not on the deposit but on the other half of the money. They were completely not interested and they actually stole my money.

Fantastic trekking, with tours from 1 hour up to 3 days. We enjoyed taking ponies off up the hill and off the path, with the guides willing to give trots and cantering as appropriate. Cool lodge facilities if you want to stay in basic accomodation.

Very beautiful scenery, you have sheep and horses gallivanting around the farm which makes you forget about the fast paced city life. I enjoyed my stay there. We stayed in a log cabin, it could easily fit 30 people on bunk beds, with 3 rondawels on the right. The place isn't modern whatsoever, I think the biggest piece of technology there is the Wi-Fi router, which is great for someone like me who loves to be out in the middle of nature. Beautiful experience!

It was really not what we saw on the internet. The was no safe dam to swim at. My children were so disappointed. The breakfast was expensive and to simple my child even found a fly inside the bread container. My house is way to better than Khotso farm. We even stayed for a shorter time than the time we were supposed to stay. If you want to enjoy don't go to Khotso farm.
