Found this to be a very charming and quaint hotel. Kind and caring attitude from staff and delicious food — real value for money. A firm favorite in the area!

The scenery, cleanliness and friendly staff.

Awesome service outside … was there when the Choc Walk happened. They were busy but we got our drinks and snack baskets quite quickly … the waitress are attentive and get your orders spot on.

A warm welcoming fire and a good curry warmed us up in the cold weather!

Food is good but service needs to be sorted out.

Stopped in for dinner and wondered around aimlessly looking for assistance. Food was great, service could do with some work, not very welcoming!

Went during the recent cold snap. Rooms need cleaning as carpets are dirty as were walls and the floors are scuffed. Food could be described as average at best. Got given wet firewood so left at 430am to get out and back in the car which has a heater. The heating panel in the room did nothing, kids were frozen. Really disappointing from a place with such a history. Room only had a bath with taps incorrectly marked as hot and cold.

This was a horrible experience. Suppose to be a Premier Hotel Group. This hotel is falling apart, it is dirty. We were booked in to Nr 17 only to discover that there is not water, apparently the water pressure was the problem. We were moved to a suite, nr 1. This was going from bad to worse. We had a very old bath with all the grouting missing on the side of the bath, luckily with water, but the suite is far from a suite, it is a horrible old room falling apart. The dressing table is falling apart, the chair at the dressing table is torn, totally not acceptable. The wooden ceiling have water stain so bad that you wonder if you need to move the bed, just in case of a further water spill while you sleep. We go bitten by bed bugs. We could not wait to leave the next morning. This hotel is in urgent need of a revamp. The excuse that it is a heritage building does not mean it should be allowed to fall into such a bad state. The dinning room is horrible and the lounge area is none existing. The swimming pool was covered in leaves and the entire area was covered in old leaves and rubbish bags.

Great home made food everything freshly prepaired and amazing views. The horse riding adventures was awesome. The staff is friendly, the management was also very nice. They made you feel like home with fireplaces lid at night troughout the entertainment areas to keep warm. Would really recommend, its a thumbs up from me! They mentioned getting savari animals to keep in private park where it can be viewed from hotel rooms. Good luck and enjoy!

Nice historical feel to the building and friendly staff serving in the restaurant. I didn't get to stay there so I couldn't see the rooms, but it seems quite nice. There is a lot of history all over the walls and in the furniture. The only issue is that when you call there is one price for rooms but when outside they advertise a much lower rate.

A beautiful, historic building (which I doubt has seen any form of maintenance since it was built! ). Service is slow & unaccommodating.

New addition of pizza to the menu is great but pricing on adult beverages remains high.

Very nice and peaceful. The food is good.

The place is cold. Wall heaters don't work. Orders hotdog and chips, food was dry, no sauce but magarine on the rolls. Water is hot though. We will come back though.

This place is an institution. Had a meal in the bar area and all the food was great and the atmosphere superb.

Ordered an eisbein that they used to be famous for, not on the menu anymore, ordered fish and chips, didn't have any fish, beer was cold, but no food.

Just an overnighter but really enjoyed the stay. Friendly and efficient staff and dinner and breakfast was awesome. Room was comfortable and clean but the shower in the bath was a let down (room 12), very low pressure and erratic so the shower was not a long relaxing one that would have completed the relaxing and awesome mountain visit. Will definitely be back.

Hlengiwe, Phindy & myself went there to celebrate my birthday we get good food and the staff was good we will definitely visit again.

Absolutely appalling. Booked through booking. Com. When I booked a "superior " room there were 3 rooms left. Arrived at 5.09 according to my GPS. Given room 8. Not superior at all. Woke up to wet bedding due to frost melting. Clothes on top of suitcase soaked. Advertise that you get free breakfast. You don't. Secured the booking with credit card and paid again on arrival. Food mediocre waited over an hour for dessert. Enjoyed watching the chef berate the bar staff for not coming to wash glasses. Perhaps if he spent more time in the kitchen and washed the glasses himself my dessert would have arrived earlier. So definitely won't be back.

Stayed there for 2 days in Nov 2016. Is a great place to stay to ride Sani Pass. Food and service good. Atmosphere and ambiance in pub great.

Very old buildings, about 100 years, but being taken over by the Premier Group. Very serene and tranquil and safe. Right on the main road with car guard posted. Being a person that loves fireplaces that warmed my heart immediately, from the restaurant to the bar, which has a huge display of guns and history on the walls. Pool is a sparkling blue, but it'd be silly to swim in winter.

Extensive renovations where underway. But simple order took over an hour.

Best pizza I ever had! Went for seconds!

Pretty crappy service, staff decided to have a staff meeting and delayed orders, staff no where to be seen when needed. Cheese board was a selection of super market cheddar and Camambert. Pub grub was nothing to write home about — pie was burnt, pancake was dry, wings came without a sauce, flavorless steak etc. Avoid if you can!
